I have no idea if it's possible to alter with the site's current infrastructure, but I would love to see an improvement to the search function. It's great we can filter by specific forums and post types. What's not so great is not being able to sort results. You can search for something like 'urban fantasy,' and your first ten results will be from wildly different histories: anywhere from a couple months to 4, 5, 6 years or more.

What would be great is the ability to sort results by date, so we can search for specific kinds of RPs or topics being discussed closer to the present, rather than slogging through pages of years gone by. It would also be nice to be able to search thread titles separately from post bodies.

Perhaps you could put this in the Feature Suggestion Thread. It might get more attention there.

Custom topics is something toyed around with a few years back. The main trouble you run into is standardizing custom tags such that the system knows one is equivalent to the other (e.g. urban fantasy, city fantasy).

I think the issue isn't so much about tagging, but rather that the forum's search feature is absolute garbage in many ways. It'll give you extremely dated results (like from years ago), if you search by specific category/section sometimes they don't show up, etc.

This link is probably the best solution to what they're asking for, I believe. You can find it on the main page on the site; the "roleplay button" centered in the middle of the categories. Problem is that it only shows roleplay topics, so if you want to search for interest checks your only options are to search the interest check sections individually or use the search engine to no avail.
