Hi, everyone! I hope that you all enjoyed the holidays! I was away for these last few days but now I'm back after resting!
Our first demonic character and I absolutely loved her lots. Having her as a fortune teller will be incredibly funny when she meets other Anima Mundi characters! Definitely accepted, for sure!
Eh, it's fine. I was the one who didn't communicate properly, but you can keep it that way!
Sure thing! Can't wait to see what you can come up with!
@MagusDreamBasic Information
Anima Mundi Name: Dia
Earth Name: Diana Zazgan
Age: 25
Race: Half-Demon
Gender: Female
Appearance:
This girl makes you think of a dashing jaguar. She has green slitted eyes that are like two spheres of jade. Her thick, straight, black hair is worn in a simple style. She is short and has an athletic build. Her skin is really black. She has sharp, pointed teeth, sharp, retracting finger nails and a pair of jet-black bat wings that are unseen until they fold out of her back.
Her wardrobe is uncomplicated and often bright, but tops usually have two slits on the back so her wings don't ruin her outfits when they unfold.
Alignment (optional):
Lawful Neutral
Personal Information
- Her other half is angelic/celestial. No, she doesn't want to talk about it.
- Zazgan means abandoned, fatherless.
- High-functioning metabolism.
Personality:
There is an air of exotic aloof mystery about her. She's very reserved, a genuine smile is a rare thing to see. One can't help but notice she's very aware of what's going on around her, a wariness she explains away as from growing up in a bad neighborhood. Dia is very dependable, organized, patient and diplomatic, but tends towards pessimism.
Likes:
- Sweets
- Alcohol, but she burns through it quickly.
- Kindness, always unexpected.
- Books
Dislikes:
- Bullies & Karens
- Crowds
- Dogs
- Idiots who accuse her of wearing black makeup.
Fears:
- being bound, enslaved
- Mobs
- Unwanted attention
- Celestials.
Backstory:
- Born in the Shadow Realm, a dark, bleak dimension with very little magic. She learned quickly to avoid celestials, as they would gang up on lone demons and beat them up or worse, claiming it was a divine justice they were inflicting on them.
-Rescued by a Fallen Lord, the Old Wolf, a nature spirit during one such brush with Celestials. He took her in like a daughter, teaching her how to use magic and how to defend herself. The Old Wolf recognized a desire in her to escape the Shadow Realm, so trained her in how to reach the middle realm, Anima Mundi.
- Living among the peoples of the middle realm was difficult, they began screaming and forming mobs when they saw her. To hide herself among them, she wore concealing outfits and took private rooms in inns, carefully closing all windows and filling any cracks through which one might spy on her.
- Overhead a conversation about gates to Earth, and managed to find one, winding up in Central Park. Here, she was just an exotic beauty. Worked for the first four months as a model, which paid very well. However, she found herself being constantly pressed by men for "dates with benefits", and decided to leave.
- Runs a fortune telling shop, selling various occult knickknacks and providing life advice in the guise of telling people their fortune. Lives in an apartment over the shop.
Motivation:
- Freedom
- Plentiful supply of food, some of it can actually be brought to you!
- Books
How Much Time on Earth?:
- A year now.
Battle Information
She prefers striking at a distance with magic before resorting to the sword. If she loses that or the target is too close, she can resort to slashing with her extending fingernails.
Offensive spells include:
- fireballs
- Slash arc (requires blade)
- Lightning strike
- Eater (miniature black hole)
Defensive spells include:
- Shield
- Pin (directional gravity attack)
Abilities/Skills:
- Drawing & Painting - took some courses at the Learning Annex.
- Jewelry making - it helps her get rid of some of transformed gold and materials, as well as create a base for holding certain spells. Learning Annex course.
- Journeyman in Hermatic Magic, also known as the Laws of Sacrifice. This allows her to siphon off power from ley lines to power her magic. If one is not available, she can sacrifice objects of equal value to what she wishes to obtain. She can also use Hermatic magic to distill magic into objects as portable reservors. Does not perform "live" sacrifices, although there are rituals that allow the willing to syphon off small amounts of their own magic over time to a reservor.
- Journeyman in Sympathetic Magic, also known as the Laws of Sympathy. Based on the concept of "Like calling for Like", it allows her to do locate objects, pets, or people, or to summon their spirit. It also allows her to perform transformation magic, where it is possible for her to use a spinning wheel to turn straw into gold or other like transformations. Using symbolism, she can divine futures, create golems, cast spells, or limited portals of her own (faster and safer than a taxi).
- Lock picking - Learning annex course, journeyman status.
- Modeling - she can strike a pose for the camera, still does occasional work, often as a hand model.
- Sword fighting - skilled in fighting with blade.
- Shapeshifter - typically transforms into a black cat. While she can still speak in other forms, the smaller she is, the deeper the voice.
- Stealthy - she's learned how to move silently and unseen.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
- Maintains an internal reservor of mana for working magic.
- shop is located above an Earth Ley Line and under a Sky Ley Line
- Doesn't understand how some things are fictional. Feels real sorry for the castaways on Gilligan's Island.
- Wings are very easy to injure
- Usually hungry
- loves animals
Weapons and Tools:
- Carpet bag of magic, seems to be larger inside than out. Full of forensic magic tools, also duct tape and a can of spam. Also holds copies of her Red book of Hermatics and her Blue book of Sympathetics.
- Shadow blade - a black sword she can summon by touching a sword charm on a bracelet she wears. Acts as a wand for her.
- Homing charm - a door that when she touches it, transports her home.
