| DATE OF BIRTH |July 26th (Leo)
| AGE |25
| GENDER |Male
| SEXUALITY |Heterosexual
| RELATIONSHIP STATUS |Single
| PLACE OF BIRTH |Jackson, TN
| APPEARANCE DETAILS |HEIGHT: 6'0"
WEIGHT: 185 lbs
HAIR: Black
EYES: Hazel
SKIN TONE: Caramel
CLOTHING STYLE: Depends. Leans towards athletic/street apparel but is known to dress up on occasion. Favors the former.
OTHER: Several tattoos on upper body, arms and legs. Both ears pierced.
| PERSONALITY |At this age, Javier is still is usual goofy self. Initially when he moved out to California during his younger years, he was much more reserved, observant and closed off to the idea of meeting new people. Once he got acclimated and made connections, he opened up to become the goofball that he is today. With age, much of his antics have toned down along with the fact that he's running his business, but when drinks are flowing and music is playing, Javier enjoys being the life of the party.
| LIKES |Cooking, Music, Sports, Nature, Good Vibes
| DISLIKES |Dishonesty, Cats, Inclement Weather, Mistakes, Heights
| HABITS |Playing Music, Smoking Weed, Shoe Purchases, Buying Cooking Supplies, Zoning Out
| FEARS |Failing in Business, Disappointing his Family
| BACKGROUND |Javier had a troublesome upbringing. Born in the a small town, his father was a gang member who was constantly in and out of jail while his mother struggled to make ends meet while working for a home daycare. With no consistent parenting at home, Javier eventually found "family" in the same way that his father did when he was younger by integrating himself into the street life, finding refuge in a local gang. In the midst of this, he visited his father in prison where they had a lengthy discussion about how his antics would eventually lead him into the same place where he was, but Javier was stubborn. Why would he listen to someone who was never there in the first place?
Fortunately for Javier's well-being, his mother had family in the California area that agree to take him on in an effort to right the ship. Before Javy could get too embedded in the wrong situation, he was quickly sent to live with his family in California where he was placed in a good school. The problem was that he couldn't relate to any of the other students. It wasn't until he bought in to some of the extra-curricular activities such as basketball and (unwillingly) Home Economics where he truly found some sort of purpose.
Once he graduated, Javier made the tough decision to leave the area that helped shape him into becoming a man and attended a culinary school back in Tennessee to refine his skills and begin his entrepreneurial pursuits of owning and operating a restaurant. Through discipline and determination, he saved up enough money during his time as a chef to purchase his own food truck which eventually led him back to California where his business could not only be planter, but flourish as well.
Presently, Javier is learning that success comes with a price. Expectation, demands and stress are all things he has to learn to cope with, but he wouldn't trade it for the world. It feels good for him to be back in California as he feels that this is where he is supposed to be. He's fortunate that his community of friends and loved ones are there to support him.
All right here we go. The background kinda got away from me. I think this character's done but I'll probably look at it later with fresh eyes and edit some.
Assuming that I'm accepted I'm down to talk with people about histories
| NAME |Eduardo Jesus RamosChuy, Chewy, DJ Chewy
| DATE OF BIRTH |June 1 (Gemini)
| AGE |22
| GENDER |Cis-male
| SEXUALITY |Heterosexual
| RELATIONSHIP STATUS |Single
| PLACE OF BIRTH |Cicero, IL
| APPEARANCE DETAILS |HEIGHT: 6'1"
WEIGHT: 180lbs
HAIR: Black
EYES: Brown
SKIN TONE: Lightly Tan
CLOTHING STYLE: Chuy has a casual style, settling on athletic cut t-shirts or a flashy short sleeve button up. HE rounds it out with jeans and fresh sneakers. He has a thing for jerseys of various teams: The Bulls, The White Sox, Mexico and US National soccer teams
OTHER: An appendix scar
| PERSONALITY |Energetic and earnest, Chuy deeply feels all the joy his life brings him and wants nothing more than to share that joy with the world. One of the things that brings him the most happiness is working on something new and sharing it with others to find they accept and enjoy it. His creativity and adventurous nature make it so he's never bored, always finding some new experience.
That said, he can be impulsive and impatient. He often gets so excited to put his new works out into the world that he'll post a half-finished beat or mix and waste time reading the reaction rather than just finishing it. He also has a bit of an indulgent nature, not surprising for one who lives to drive the party forward. If he seems surprisingly frugal it's only because he's got some big purchase or trip he's ready to blow his saved money on. It's a good thing he can turn on the charm because he often finds himself in trouble trying to sneak in somewhere, hitting on the wrong woman, or in general ignoring some rules to get what he wants.
| LIKES |Music - playing it, listening, hearing it live, festivals
Dancing - let the music move you
The Beach - it's much nicer at the ocean than the lake
Working out - Calisthenics, Soccer, Weights
Traveling - when he can afford it
Star Wars - bet you can't guess his favorite character
| DISLIKES |Being Alone - it just feels wrong
Driving - LA needs better public transport
Commitment - but you probably saw that one coming
The link between EDM and drugs - it's possible to just enjoy music
Video Games - they steal too much of his time
| HABITS |Social Media - Unfortunately promoting your work via TikTok and Instagram means spending a lot of time on social media. While most of his posting is focused on his DJing and music, he's fine with taking part in the latest trend or throwing up some thirst trap if it'll draw followers.
Music? - Just music. He'll take up a new instrument for a few months. Finding and connecting other musicians on soundcloud. Live music everywhere from dive bars to Coachella. Everything is a potential source of inspiration.
Comparing LA unfavorably to Chicago - It's all in good fun. Seriously though, he's moving back next week. Or maybe Miami
| FEARS |Having his work completely dismissed
Drowning (never stopped him from jumping off a boat though)
Needles, he'd like a tattoo someday but....
| BACKGROUND |Chuy grew up in a loud crowded house in Chicago. His father (accordion in a local band) and his mother (violin in a mariachi group) were second-generation immigrants: hard-working, frugal, and putting family first. They managed to instill those values along with their love of music in their seven children... mostly. By the time Chuy was growing up, his family had cemented itself in the community and had some money to spare, meaning they could afford to spoil the baby of the family a little bit.
While his older siblings had to help out around the house, Chuy was free to run around getting into trouble. His endless energy and impulsivity tested everyone's patience. But who could stay mad at Chuy? Sure, if his brothers had run into a shelf in the garage and knocked everything over, they might've seen the belt. If his sisters had messed with the mixing board before their dad's gig, there might have been real trouble. But when it turned out to just be Chuyito, the crowd just chuckled. He wasn't a spoiled brat though. After all, he still had his share of chores, he was never rarely just handed anything, and a lot of his clothes and toys were hand-me-downs. But he was treated with more care, and more often than not, he figured how to get what he wanted.
While the Ramos' weren't stage parents by an means, they did heavily encourage their children to take up music. Growing up with their mom singing and dancing all over the house, accompanying their parents to their live gigs at weddings and other events, music surrounded them. Between mom who knew how to stretch a dollar, and dad who knew everybody, a quality used instrument was always in reach. Some of the siblings really went all in while others kept music as a side hobby. Chuy grew up enjoying everything his siblings performed, even Dominic who actually wasn't very good. And they were always happy to give him a few lessons; the best way to learn is by teaching after all.
For Chuy's part, his attention drifted between instruments a lot, picking one up for a few months then moving on to the next in a pattern that continues to this day. It was a good thing that there were plenty of things sitting around for him to try. While he had longer and more frequent stints on the guitar and the drum kit, the trumpet was what he came back to again and again.
In his early teens he got some exposure to the sound tech at live events, between observing his father's own band as well as other groups and DJs at community events. He also got to see what went on in recording and producing when his father's band put together a small recording. He saved up and was able to buy some used equipment from eBay. He cobbled that together with some stuff from the garage into a basic DJ setup and never looked back. His ideas broadened further when he joined his older sister in messing around on production with some pirated software.
Chuy got through high school all right. His grades were nothing special, but his life outside of school was a whirlwind. He supplemented his part-time job income with children's guitar lessons and DJing high school parties (to mixed reviews). His older brother's ID got him into some clubs and venues he wouldn't normally be allowed in. Despite what a few incidents of drunken shenanigans suggested, he was first and foremost interested in experiencing everything Chicago's rich music scene had to offer.
He's since honed his craft, having skipped college to continue working on music and learning about sound engineering through the magic of the internet. He followed his sister to LA some time ago. He's scored a job as a resident DJ at a local club of decent popularity, playing hip hop, reggaeton, and electronic music depending on the night. His personal sound is house with some Latin influences... for now.
| MISCELLANEOUS |As a teenager his sister dragged him along to see We Are Your Friends... Yes, Zac Efron's character is a secret influence on his life. He's since re-evaluated that movie entirely. He doesn't have many secrets, but he'll take this one to his grave.
@Silent Whispers So, was my char denied, or was he just skipped?
Is this still open? Hello hello :)
@Silent Whispers Heya, glad to hear you enjoyed your birthday week-end.
I don't mind if Christian hosts the thanksgiving dinner, since he's a trained chef and what not. Or at least, it could be a collab of hosts, with the group contributing to the meal in some way, if more than one character wants to be a host/or co-host :)
@Silent Whispers That can certainly work :)
If they're missing something between the three of them. I am sure Christian's cousin Jasmine can help out somehow, if it's just bringing whatever they're missing or buy the drinks for the occasion.
@Silent Whispers Hahaha, well I have a feeling Jasmine's the Rachel of our group, with her fashion sense and Christian's the new...Ross xD haha.
Wonder whom will be the Joey, Chandler and Phoebe xD hehe
I am sure they'll all pitch in somehow, with bringing stuff, so we're all good.
@Silent Whispers You passed over my sheet. Which can happen, you had to catch up on so much. Good to hear the bday was good!
<Snipped quote by Days>
I promise that I'm not doing it intentionally. I'm getting to the age where I need glasses but Ember is accepted and please move her over whenever you can.

Though he does has a strained relationship with his family. Mainly his father, and does not like to talk about it.
However, under this persona of his, Daniel, hidden away, has doubts about himself. Something that, at first, he was okay with but would grow to hate it as his father would be critical of him whenever he did something wrong or even slightly wrong. Often telling him bluntly what he felt he should do and not always the correct thing to do. There was no break from it, and his father was oblivious to the effect it was having on his child. Plus, for some reason that Daniel does not know, while he did not want his father's attention. His younger sister did, and the fact that Daniel was his father's favorite caused a strain between him and his sister that never really went away.
It was around the time he was fourteen that Daniel started to slowly realize his father's controlling nature. He started to "suggest" the subjects and electives he learned. Always saying that he should be a lawyer like him. When Daniel thought about doing something else when he grew up, his father would politely shut it down. Saying that that is not the path for him and enforcing the lawyer path. A path that Daniel slowly started to hate and would start having fights with his father.
Still, Daniel complied with his father's wishes after high school and earning a degree. His father "recommended a law school" in Chicago, and for a year, Daniel studied there. But, after a long night of studying did he finally realize that he was not living his life. He is living the life his father wants him to live, so after a long night of thinking, planning, and getting the courage to act. Daniel left law school and surprising with his mother's help. Daniel confounded his father one last time before heading off with what money he had and moved to Los Angeles. Getting a job with a friend of his mother, and it was now it was his time for him to live his life.
Daniel made friends with some people after living in LA for a year in his apartment building and is glad he managed to have friends in the city even after a year of living there. He still feels like a stranger to.
