"Alexander, please," He purred, sounding slightly kind. He, by default and Blair's request, offered his hand to Juniper after helping Blair to shore. Charles watched this from a distance away, slight approval in his expression for a moment before he was dragged away by another Hufflepuff and brought to reunite with his friends, even if he slightly wanted to keep watching his brother.

Blair smiled brighly at Alexanders willingness to help. Juniper was a little taken aback at the offer but took his hand nonetheless and carefully climbed out the the boat. "Thanks Xander." Her tone almost friendly as she flashed him a quick smile

Alexander nodded and followed the two, seemingly subdued for his previous attitude on the train. Charles had already been swept away to the Hufflepuff table in the Great Hall, and was speaking quietly to the other Hufflepuffs. "So, Charles, heard your brother just started here," One of them said suddenly. Immediately, the table went dead silent, as everybody was waiting for Charles' response. Charles just sighed and nodded. "Yes. That would be true," was his calm response. "What house do you think he'll be in?" The same questioner asked almost immediately. "I cannot be sure of that. I won't make any assumptions," Charles replied flatly, not liking where the conversation was doing.

Before the conversation could go any furher, silenct swept the great hall as the huge doors opened and the new fiest year students were ushed in. The group of children walked down the middle of the hall towards the front where the sorting hat was perched.

Alexander just followed the other first years, knowing that he'd most likely be called pretty soon, as his last name started with B. He wasn't really worried about what house he would get, knowing he'd most likely get the house that was supposed to run in the family- Slytherin.

Sure enough, it didn't take long for Alexander to get called up in front of the whole hall. Blair and Juniper stood at the front, Blair offered him her best 'You can do it!' smile while Juniper offered him a small thumbs up. Sure, she didn't like him but she wasn't an asshole.

Alexander sat on the stood, and before the hat even touched his head, it shouted its choice. "SLYTHERIN!" A few boo's echoed from the Slytherin table, but they quickly changed to cheers as they received a reprimand from their prefect Mark. Alexander was smiling shyly as he went to the Slytherin table without a word.

The calls continued until it was Juniper's turn. She tried to seem confident as she walked the few steps to the hat and sat on the small stoll. Her heart pounded in her chest as the hat was lowered. Almost as fast as when it decided Slytherin for Alexander, the hat made it's decision. "GRYFFINDOR"

Alexander rolled his eyes. Of course the Mudblood got Griffindor. It made sense to him, really. He found Juniper to be rather bold for a Mudblood, but still bratty enough to piss him off. He was offered a seat beside Mark and took it silently. "So, Alexander Bennett. Continuing your family line, as you should," The Bloody Barron purred as Alexander sat. Alexander studied his lap, not speaking.

Juniper practically skipped over the cheering table, grinning at her new housemates. She smiled brightly at Blair, who waved to her as she waited in like. Blair turned to wave at alexander but dropped her hand when she realised he seemed to be finding his knees more interesting

The Slytherin ghost had already taken to embarrassing and harassing Alexander, causing the boy quite a bit of difficulty already. Eventually, Alexander looked up as Blair's name was called.

Blair flashed a bright smile to her friends. It took the hat a few moments to decide before announcing her place in Ravenclaw. Blair squealed with joy as she jumped off the stool and ran for her house's table

Alexander sighed. He was hoping Blair would at least join him in Slytherin- for at least somebody who didn't harass him over his family lineage. He listened without a sound as the other first-years were called and sorted. Very few were put into Slytherin, and those who were he already disliked.

One of the last people to be placed in Slytherin was a girl called to the stood by the name of Peony Wildblood. A poised girl with he head held high. Her hair was white, long to the small of her back and pin-straight. She moved over to the table and sat down next to Alexander. "A pleasure."

"If that is what you choose to call it, yes," Alexander replied simply. He didn't touch his food for the entire feast. He wasn't hungry. Meanwhile, on the other side of the great hall, Charles was trying to dodge pestering questions about Alexander, and why the boy had ended up in Slytherin and not Hufflepuff like his brother had.

Peony offered him a small, sympathetic smile. "I understand. It's hard having a family name tied to you from day one." she whispered.
Juniper did her best to fit in with her new family, desperate to finally fit in somewhere. Anywhere. She glanced over at Blair who seemed to be taking to her house like duck to water.

Alexander simply nodded and waited for the feast to be over. He just wanted to write a letter to his father and share the news of his placement in Slytherin with his family. He knew that, after the catastrophe with Charles not getting Slytherin, Alexander's placement would be a highlight. "You wouldn't understand the half of it," He tried to joke with her, but it was difficult, as her words were rather true.
