Character Sheet

Title: (If applicable)
Name: (Full)
Alias:
Age:
Gender:
Blood Type:

Has your character killed?: (A simple yes or no will suffice but feel free to go into detail)

Characters Appearance: (Describe your character in as much detail as you like and/or provide a picture.)

Notable Skills: (What skill set makes your character stand out? Are they a gunslinger, a rogue, a mathematician or a philosopher? You can have as many as you like, but please don’t go too crazy, and keep to big character defining skill sets. We don’t need to know your character can sew and bake unless that stuff is integral to your character.)

Special Knowledge: (What things have your character studied that might set them apart from others? Do they have knowledge of technology from other worlds? Do they know the lore of long dead gods? Or are they simply knowledgeable about physics and regular technology? No need to feel obligated to fill out this section, some characters are more fun when we’re experiencing them gaining their special knowledge. Oh and being able to do magic, doesn’t mean you know anything about it. If you do fill it out, please stick to general topics such as those listed above, and not things like "The Ghosts Lions of Sacre Mento")

Powers: (As this is weirdwest it is possible for people to posses magical or psychic powers. Powers in this setting tend to be simple. No one is walking around as a 20th level wizard with metamagic. You can have multiple powers or even be a spellcaster with a roster of spells, but keep in mind not to go to big with it. You can discuss with me if you need help, but I would encourage using Sanderson’s laws of magic to come up with a good power. stormlightarchive.fandom.com/wiki/San…)

Characters Personality: (Who are they, what are their values, how do they typically handle problems, are they hot tempered? Cool headed? Nervous? What ever you describe here you must stick with so make sure you create someone you’ll enjoy playing even if playing them accurately puts them in a bad spot)

Motivations: (Your character set out to Fortune’s End with a purpose. What is it? Why? Is it the economic state of the world or something else?)

Personal Effects: (What did your character bring with them? Do be specific, but you can summarize or group certain things together. For instance if they brought a tool-kit you don’t need to list every tool, but instead list the kind of tool kit. A gunsmiths? A carpenters? A Scientists? They will have only brought with them what they could carry for a long journey. You don’t need to worry about food)

Extra Information: (Put here anything that isn’t covered by the other sections that you want us to know about your character)

You are allowed to have character secrets if it is stuff you wish to spring later, however you must private message me with those details so they are on record at least somewhere.

When making your character please don’t make a character who is unphased by everything. No matter what a person has gone through there are some things that will put white in their hair. A horror setting is no fun if the characters can never be horrified or even slightly disturbed.

Title: None
Name: Astrid Ava Helgadóttir
Alias: Ava
Age: 24
Gender: Female
Blood Type: B+

Has your character killed?: Not people.

Characters Appearance:
In most respects Astrid would be considered an ordinary young woman; Her eyes—blue and bright—do not strike awe into those she meets. Her pale skin, though tanned from her travels, does not carry runic markings or other mysterious symbols. She might be called pretty but she would not be considered beautiful by many. Perhaps the most striking of her ordinary features is her honey-blonde hair, which she most often keeps in a bun or a rolled up braid, and when free falls to her mid thigh. This, however, is where the ordinary stops.

The first thing someone would notice upon meeting Astrid is her excessive height, and at a finger's width shy of two metres—or 6ft 6in—she towers over most every other person she meets. She has been blessed with a figure that allows her a proportionate appearance, rather than gangly and long, and when combined with her advanced musculature born from years of physical labour, Astrid strikes an imposing figure. Her hands are rough and calloused as a result, and a jagged scar on her right forearm leaves a reminder of an old injury.

Her mother's habits having rubbed off on her, Astrid maintains a cleanly and put-together appearance in spite of the physical work she performs. This extends to her clothes, which she takes care to maintain and repair when necessary. They usually take the form of a simple shirt under a coloured vest, and either a shin-length skirt, or a set of functional pants, whichever she feels like or is most useful at the time. She is also, almost always, seen wearing a wide-brimmed hat to shield against the sun.

Notable Skills:
Astrid possesses a number of skills relating to, or derived from, her homelife and trade.
  • Blacksmithing & Metalwork. She is a proficient crafter of all manner of tools and trinkets made of metal, and is able to appraise the value, make, and quality of most any metallic item as a result.
  • Woodworking. Though to a lesser extent than blacksmithing, she is capable of working wood in a variety of ways.
  • Archery. A recurve bow is Astrid's weapon of choice, and both her means of hunting and primary means of self defence. Years of practice has afforded her excellent hand-eye coordination.

Special Knowledge:
  • Metallurgy. In conjunction with her blacksmithing skills, she has gained extensive knowledge about metals, and how they act under certain situations, and how one might manipulate them.
  • Mathematics & Physics. She is not a savant, and any person with an extensive education would know more, but her work felling and cutting up trees, blacksmithing, and personal interest has required her to learn a great deal of the world of numbers, as well as how the forces of physics might interact.

Powers:
As one of the lucky few in this world, Astrid was born possessing a unique and powerful ability: She is capable of conjuring a very faintly glowing, light blue arrow that acts as a compass needle.

Characters Personality:
Kindness, patience, and solidarity are three virtues which Astrid's personality is centered around. She always strives to meet people with a smile on her lips, and a kind greeting, and failing that she makes an effort to not be rude. When focused on something people will find her to be driven and not easily distracted, a trait which it could be argued is the reason why she made it all the way to Fortune's End. It also helps her to stay level-headed in stressful situations and able to work under pressure. She is also someone who strives to put neither group nor individual over the other, desiring instead for people to work together and cooperate to reach common goals, and to this end she is always willing to help.

This is not to say that she will never raise her voice or lose her temper, but in her own words such things would only happen in situations that are not silly. As a result of her upbringing, she has become fiercely protective of things that she considers personally valuable—whether people or objects. She will not care if minor things such as her food, brushes, or chisel are taken for they can be easily replaced, but if one dares try to take an heirloom of hers, or touch a person she holds dear, she is prepared to make full use of the size and strength nature has seen fit to grant her.

Motivations:
With technology rapidly advancing and making lots of artisan jobs superfluous, her father's blacksmith is having an increasingly difficult time generating income. Even remote as they lived, factory-made tools and other metal-made items were becoming increasingly cheap and easy for the general populace to get, making her father's career more and more replaceable. Her mother's tailoring, however skilled she was, could not keep them afloat forever. Astrid's eldest brother had already left for work elsewhere, hoping to bring back money, which left only Astrid and her younger brother. She chose to head out to Fortune's End—leaving her youngest brother to help her father's blacksmith—hoping that she might bring home enough money that they could move to her mother's home country, and start over; build a business perhaps on novelty items and metallic artistry, more than tool-and-weapon making, or perhaps something else.

Personal Effects:
  • Portable Blacksmithing kit. Includes hammers, viking anvil, tongs, chisel, whetstones, engraving tools, etc..
  • A small collection of spare material for metalwork such as; a few small copper, iron, and steel ingots (about 1 kg of each); leather strips, 1 sq-ft of ray skin, and a few pieces of wood.
  • Woodworking kit. Includes chisel, sandpaper, various carving and whittling tools, a saw, and a woodcutter's axe, etc..
  • Three several inches long iron needles/nails, used to keep her hair in its bun; each engraved with an arrow on either side.
  • A recurve bow + about a dozen arrows.
  • A set of liquid paint, and brushes.
  • A spare set of clothes, and a spare hat.
  • Cooking utensils, sewing kit, and other survival necessities, including a compas.
  • Half a pound of very, very stale bread.

Extra Information:
  • Born in Iceland, to her Icelandic father (Helgi) and Norwegian mother (Ava). Has two brothers Anton (older) and Magnus (younger).
  • She is the shortest person in her family except her mother, who is only 5'10.
  • She is likely to be seen humming or quietly singing to herself, even while working.
  • Character Quote: "I don't like to try for Perfect. It always gets in the way of good, sound work."

Title: None
Name: Jane Adriana Guerrero
Alias: "Pockets"
Age: 27
Gender: Female
Blood Type: O+

Has your character killed?: Once.

Characters Appearance: A slight woman with short dark hair, narrow brown eyes, and dusty tan skin. Not someone who'd stand out, and she dresses to be overlooked (or mistaken for a man), favoring well-worn jeans and work shirts. The only accessory she sports is a small pendant that belonged to her mother, and she generally keeps that hidden.

Notable Skills:
Light Fingers:
The talent of making things disappear, whether it's from an unobserved surface or somebody's person.
Knifework: Jane's favorite method of self-defense is staying unnoticed. Her second-favorite is a display of intimidation with a blade. Her least favorite is following through on the threat, but most certainly has that ability.
Hoofing It: When being quiet fails, it helps to be fast. And Jane is fast.

Special Knowledge:
Locksmithing:
While Jane's main concern is the opening of locks, she also has a knack for delicate mechanisms. In another life, she would have made a fine watchmaker.
Streetwise: Growing up in a rough neighborhood and then moving to a rougher one gave Jane an easy familiarity with the criminal element.
Gambling: If it's cards or dice, she's played the game and she knows the cheats.
Art Appreciation: Despite her modest means, Jane was always drawn to the beauty of the visual arts. If anyone asks, though, it's for fencing purposes.

Powers:
Silver Tongue:
Jane can tell a lie, and anyone will believe her for the moment. She could say the sky was green, and you'd believe it until you gave it a moment's thought. Or until you looked up.
What Dreams May Come: On the rare occasion that Jane gets a full night's sleep, she dreams of impossible places; sunken cities, distant planets, the thrones of ancient gods. Sometimes she takes their secrets to the waking world.

Characters Personality: In a word, shifty. She's accustomed enough to dangerous locales that she's always on alert, keeping one eye open for threats wherever they may appear. She can put on a friendly face, but she hasn't trusted anyone since she lost her family. Tends to see acts of kindness as debts to be repaid.

Motivations: "Get rich or die trying, right? I'll take that bet."

Personal Effects:
  • A finely-made Italian stiletto
  • A deck of subtly marked playing cards
  • A small lockbox containing (rather decent) sketches of her dreams

Extra Information: Nothing yet.

Name: Céleste Madeleine Rousseau

Alias: Solid Gold Céleste, The Reaper’s Bride, The West Curve Killer

Age: 28

Gender: Female

Blood Type: A+

Has your character killed: Yes, several times. Publicly she is wanted for thirty-two murders.

Character’s Appearance:

Céleste is of average height for the time, with slightly tan skin, and short brown wavy hair that doesn’t quite reach her shoulders. She posses a thin frame, many would describe her as gaunt though it is a natural appearance and not one caused by poor health. One of her arms is a false replacement made of a dark stained wood, the arm is quite intricate featuring individual fingers and joints for all, with each joint featuring a knob allowing her to lock the arm and fingers in various positions though it is a slow and manual process.

She has a soft face that is common for the women of the village in France where she was born, soft and ovular, with dark brown eyes. She is not one for makeup but does indulge in bright red lipstick that stands out from her dark and plain appearance. She wears a high necked black dresses that on her thin frame make her look like a shadow, and knee high dark brown boots. On her head she wears a straw sun had with a fake cloth daisy sewn to the side and a long ribbon that blows in the wind around the rim. On her back is a large wooden box she carries like a backpack; the box is reinforced with metal brackets along the edges and there is no visible way to open it. A leather roll is strapped to the top of the box and carries her personal effects.

At her waist hangs a Colt 1851, strapped to her lower back a 44-40 Winchester Rifled modified into a Mare’s Leg alongside a hatchet, hanging under her wooden arm in a custom harness is a Peacemaker, and slung over a shoulder is a strange firearm that looks like a rifle crossed with a shotgun. Despite her frail appearance it’s hard to ignore someone carrying so many weapons so openly.

Notable Skills:

Céleste is a skilled toy-maker, gunsmith, and gunslinger. If you were to ask her she’d claim she could build a gun out of anything, and a toy with whatever bits were left. As for her skills as a gunslinger, she'd say the fact she's still walking around says enough.

Special Knowledge:

  • Has extensive knowledge of mechanical mechanisms
  • Above average knowledge of chemistry and alchemy
  • Wide knowledge on firearms including how they work, how to make them, and how to repair them
  • Mathematics and Metrology

Powers:

Céleste shows no outwards signs of powers, though from the days when she was still a full time toy-maker there were those who would swear the things she made sometimes moved on their own.

Characters Personality:

Normally a sombre woman who speaks softly and often seems lost in thought or highly focused on what she’s doing, but will always surprise you with what she hears even when you think she isn’t listening. She will carry on a conversation with just about anyone and is seemingly able to keep up even when the topic ranges into areas she isn’t the least bit familiar with. She enjoys a good joke, and will quip out some of her own when the time seems right; and is often eager to lend a helping hand when she knows she could do some good.

When in a fight, she is not one who backs away or hesitates. If you put her life in danger, you’re either a threat, or you’re dead.

When she isn’t busy tinkering on a project or in a fight, when she thinks she is alone in a private moment, you might be able to catch a sad look in her eyes that makes you wonder if there is more to her then you know.

Motivations:

Neither greed nor gold brought her to Fortune’s End.

Personal Effects:

  • Set of simple toy makers tools
  • Set of gunsmith’s tools
  • Various spare parts
  • Extra black dress
  • Sewing kit
  • Above mentioned fire-arms
  • A gold locket

Extra Information:

Céleste has a $4000 bounty on her head for an ever growing list of known murders, this high bounty is where she gets one of her nick-names from. Bringing her in would be as good as finding gold for some.

Title: Mr.

Name: Benjamin Lloyd Giffard

Alias: Benji (to his friends)

Age: 30

Gender: Cis Man

Blood Type: AB-

Has your character killed?: No

Appearance:

Mr. Giffard’s round face and modest stature give the man a youthful, almost cherubic appearance. His dark eyes are large and guileless, framed with thick lashes; his face is clean-shaven but for a meticulously maintained handlebar mustache. Underneath a stylish bowler cap are silky silver-brown curls which, having been neglected on the journey to Fortunes End, are just starting to fall past the nape of his neck and over his tall stiff collar.

Benjamin’s clothing is modest compared to what he is used to wearing. His navy waistcoat and pinstripe pants, though not so tight around the waist as they had been in the weeks prior to his arrival, do not accomplish the long and lean figure they were tailored to produce. In fact they seem to emphasize his subtle roundness. He carries his dark frock coat over one arm, for once favoring comfort over fashion. A slim blue tie and silver pocket watch complete the look for this distinguished fellow.

Notable Skills:

Running Away: Benjamin’s parents had, at several points in his adolescence, attempted to have him trained in some form of martial art. There was wrestling first, then fencing, singlestick, archery and pistol shooting. One memorable summer an eccentric uncle from Oxfordshire had even tried to engage him in bare-knuckle boxing. None of these lessons stuck. What Benji did learn, however, was how to get as far away from aggressive creatures as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Problem Solving: Benjamin loves puzzles, riddles and mysteries - as long as there are no personal stakes involved.

Perception: Benjamin notices things. Sometimes he notices things he wishes he could forget.

Cunning: The youngest Giffard child possesses a sharp mind. His mother would often say that what Benjamin lacked in physical prowess, he made up for in wit.

Special Knowledge: No special knowledge past what is given to one with a university education.

Powers: When he was a child, Benjamin believed he could sense the true intentions of others if he held his breath and pulled on his ear. Poppycock!

Character’s Personality: Benji is recognized by most as a genial fellow, if a bit queer. He enjoys the finer things in life - some might say a bit too much - and he’s not exactly shy about it. In fact, he has a great fondness for partaking in food, drink, and conversation with anyone and everyone who might be inclined to share it with him. Perhaps his station as the youngest of three boys is the source of his lackadaisical attitude. While eyes were fixed on the Giffard heir, Benji could play as he liked. He didn’t stand to inherit much of the family fortune at the start of his life; now the possibility is non-existent.

Benji enjoys art, music, poetry, and all things beautiful. He’s a bit of a magpie, with more rings, watches and accessories than he knows what to do with. He just can’t seem to leave shiny objects alone.

His bright disposition can make him seem a bit naive, and he enjoys using this misconception to his advantage. However, his sheltered upbringing has left him prone to spells of fainting, nausea and hysterics when confronted with disturbing imagery.

He doesn’t show much interest in women. Really, he’s getting a bit old to be a bachelor. One would think that his parents, both of fine stock, would have found him a suitable match by now. Not to mention all the rumors about certain indiscretions with the Giffard’s late stable hand. A wife could do wonders to quell such talk.

Motivations: Benjamin never got on well with his older brothers. His only sister, Charlotte (Lottie for short), was his closest friend and confidant. The two of them were inseparable until adulthood, when their parents arranged a marriage for Lottie to Elliot Sloane, a new money oil tycoon.

Ten years passed in an increasingly unhappy situation. Sloane decided that it was time for a change and moved her out west. Two years after that, Lottie's letters stopped coming. Finding Lottie was only a matter of following the paper trail, which ended in a town just east of Fortunes End. Benjamin arrives in the town looking to pick up the lost trail.

Personal Effects:

- Shaving Kit. Includes a mirror, straight razor, and a canister of mustache wax (nearly empty).

- Pocket watch. Silver. Wound to always keep time one minute early.

- A wooden trunk embossed with the initials “B.L.G”. Full to the brim with clothes, trinkets, books, and writing supplies.

- Portrait of Lottie. A moon-faced young lady with dark curls pulled into an elaborate, flowery hair-do. Her eyes are large and dark and sad, the downward curve of her mouth a deep gray wound.

Title: N/A
Name: Vergil Hawthorne
Alias: Nantan
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Blood Type: O-

Has your character killed?: A few, some human, some not

Characters Appearance: Standing at 6'0 and with black skin. Short black hair with grey eyes and a short stubble beard. His attire is one you would expect from a traveler. A brown vest, black buttoned shirt, and loose fitting jeans. Plus, an average brown cowboy hat along with a leather satchel that he wears diagonally crosses this body and rests at his left hip. Along with a holster that he wears on the right side of his body.

Notable Skills:

Gun Skill - Vergil was taught growing up how to shoot a gun and is at both pistols and rifles.

Knife fighting - Along with learning how to use a gun, Liam was taught to use a knife and is good at defending himself with one.

Tracker - Vergil is a skilled tracker, that can track a person or creature effectively as long as he can find tracks.

Special Knowledge: Magically Educated - Due to his father's connections to the supernatural. Vergil has limited knowledge about the supernatural and about magic.

Dead Order Lore - Vergil despite the resistance from his father. He is somewhat versed in the lore of the dead order his father used to belong to. From knowing its personal language, recognizing supernatural or occult symbols, and learning how to handle some supernaturals.

Medical Man - Vergil was taught by his mother what plants, and herbs can be used for healing and has a basic idea of how to heal people.

Powers: Vergil is able to both sense and talk to spirits.

Characters Personality: Vergil can be seen as a loner. His heritage made him somewhat of an outcast when growing up. Sticking to himself or his family. Still, Vergil is one that likes to have friends and spend time with others. He even has a sense of humor though he rarely makes given his nature but, can still enjoy a good joke. Plus, to those he calls family and friends. He is loyal to them and will help them out but if this trust is broken or abused. Then it is hard to regain Vergil's trust. Plus, once Veril sets his sights on something, it can be hard to dissuade him.

Though one thing that can be said is that Vergil is very interested in the supernatural and magic despite his father's warnings. Especially, the order that his father used to belong to. Learning what he could about it from his father or from his father's small library.

When in a fight, Vergil has shown to have a cold head and is not one to charge head-first into a fight. Normally one to think first, and when that fails. He falls back to his training and tends to only fight when needed.

Motivations: You see, Vergil has two reasons for coming to Fortune's End. Someone that Vergil knows is dead is somehow moving around and alive. He does not know how, only that this person not only defying death but has stolen a book of value from his father. A book belonging to a dead order and one that his father thought he had hidden well. A book that the thief almost killed his father over and a book that his father fears what the thief is up to. So Vergil has tracked the thief to Fortune's End and where he will see if the thief still resides in the town, and hopefully, he can get his answers to how this person is alive.

Extra Information: Vergil is half African American and half Native American(Apache)
