So, after watching/reading several anime and manga with the broad premise of 'person reincarnates as an Otome game villainess', I now wonder if this premise could be made into an RP. The setting would of course be the standard 'noble's academy'. I'm still not decided on how big a role magic will play in this world. There also isn't some big complex political or fantastical plot (at least, not one planned yet) but this will be a much more character-focused story.

This won't be too large a group. Five players (including me) minimum and I'd say nine players max.

I will be playing the Heroine, as I had the interesting idea that she isn't an isekai'd player. Instead having her in-game personality and memories but real-time dialogue trees from an unknown player actually affect her actions and responses from time to time.

So the free roles would be as follows;

-The reincarnated Otome Villainess herself
-Her important (possibly Royal) Fiance, who is a romanceable character
-Two/Three more romancable characters. One of them could even be another girl. If Magic does play a big part in this setting, they would of course natually have magic matching one of the four elements
-Friend characters/The Villainess' henchwomen/other NPCs (maybe one or two could possibly also be isekaid themselves. However, the Heroine and the main romanceable characters will not be isekaid)

I'm always interested in this idea, and have several little character ideas that might be fun to use... but if a small group doesn't gain interest, perhaps you'd be open to a 1x1 in the same vein?

I would, actually! And I'd like to hear your ideas! I'd assume you'd be the villainess but then that leads to who gets which NPC

Wish I'd seen this a little earlier, I would've totally posted for interest.
I myself have watched a bunch of these anime, including "I’m the Villainess, So I’m Taming the Final Boss", "My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!" and currently watching "I'm in Love with the Villainess" (my current favorite).

I would like some more details about the world and setting though. Particularly how/if magic works and is used in day-to-day life. Are there monsters or fantastical creatures? Are there only humans as the "intelligent/sentient" race? What's the climate of the area in which the story takes place? Is it culturally based on any real life equivalent?

I see there's been a bit of time since yer last reply here, but if you're still doing this, I'd appreciate any answers you can give. :)

These are all great questions. Not a single one I even had a word of answers to before I started typing this lol.

We could brainstorm a lot of this together if you'd like. I want something more on the low fantasy end of the spectrum, something more akin to the typical otome game. No other sentient races besides maybe Elves or Beastkin. There are monsters. There is a rudimentary magic system, probably based on the four elements + dark + light and everyone only gets one/affinity for one besides the Heroine and/or Villainess who get two. Culturarlly, it's your standard "18th-19th century Aristocratic Europe" flavoured Otome setting

I'd be willing to lend a hand thinking up some things, unfortunately as I said, it's a shame I didn't see this earlier - as, due to the holidays creeping ever closer, my workload at... Well, work will keep steadily increasing. Which ultimately means I won't really have time to participate in the roleplay proper. But, I at least wanted to bump this up and see if you could get some additional interest regardless.

So, yeah, if you want to spitball ideas, just lemme know. Either here, via PM or VM. 'S all good. :)
