Shiranui had changed into his uniform and during Jen's battle he mused, "So Raihan is using a Sandstorm strategy…" He adjusted his roster and sent out his own Goodra, Numeru, to cheer alongside her mate.
"Today's last contender and far from the least is a real rarity as he has been recommended by Allester. A young man whose accolades also stretch from Kanto to Kalos. Ladies and gentlemen, may I introduce to you The reigning Champion of Kanto and Kalos, the Sea Hero of Johto's Red Rock Isle, and currently ranked number 73 in the Pokemon World Coronation Series, Moon Ninja Shiranui TSUKIKO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Some of the audience started chanting, "Tsukiko!" followed by three claps. Five seconds passed before a small explosion of black smoke issued from the challenger's side of the battlefield with Shiranui revealed after the smoke cleared.
"This Gym match will be a 4-on-4 double battle with no time limit. Only the challenger will be allowed to switch Pokémon. The Battle will end when one side is out of Pokémon. Now, Challenger Tsukiko, Leader Rihan, send out your first two Pokémon," the referee officiated. Raihan opened with his Gigalith and Flygon.
"Say hello to my friends from out of space and out of time," Shiranui rebutted, sending out his Tyrantrum, Boukun, and his Kartana, Kirigami. A sandstorm blew in thanks to Gigalith's ability. "Let the winds blow! Stream forward, Sandstorm!" Raihan shouted.
"Your little sandy tricks won't faze me, Raihan," Shiranui continued.
"Try this on for size," Raihan replied, "Gigalith, Stealth Rock; Flygon, Steel Wing on Tyrantrum!"
"Kirigami, slice Gigalith with a Leaf Blade; Boukun, stand your ground and Ice Fang Flygon on my signal!"
Kirigami rode the sandstorm with their light body and delivered a nasty vertical slash on Gigalith right down the middle, knocking it out in one hit. "Yhtrownu gnihtemos tuc evah I niaga ecno," Kirigami commented. Flygon swooped down towards Boukun with metallic wings as the Tyrantrum's jaws froze up with a layer of ice. "今*!" Shiranui signalled once Flygon was close enough and Boukun bit down hard on Flygon, stopping the desert spirit in its tracks and knocking it out with that bite.
Raihan switched his starting line-up for his Sandaconda and his Duraludon and Shiranui swapped his Kartana for his Mimikyu, Bakeru, who got hit by the Stealth Rock trap. "Bring the storm! My partner will send everyone in the stadium flying! Let's do it… Time for our G-Max Depletion! The dragon's roar will cut right through you! Your target is Tyrantrum! Sandaconda, use Glare on Mimikyu!"
"Bakeru, start the sands of time with a Curse on Sandaconda; Boukun, use Sunny Day!"
Raihan recalled his Duraludon and used his Dynamax Ring to Gigantamax Duraludon. Shiranui's Mimikyu pulled out a pin from under his rag and pierced himself, leaving Sandaconda stricken with a curse. Sandaconda retaliated by giving Bakeru a nasty serpentine stare, leaving the Mimikyu paralysed with fear. Boukun ended the sandstorm with heavily sunny weather. "Pulling out a Sunny Day! Hah! That's not a bad countermeasure!" Raihan commented as the skyscraper-like Duraludon struck Boukun with a super effective hit that did a lot of damage and drained away some of his Sunny Day's PP. Sandaconda felt Bakeru's curse drain away some of their health. "Sandaconda, Earth Power on Tyrantrum; Duraludon, use Max Knuckle!"
"Bakeru, use Phantom Force on Duraludon; Boukun, throw a High Horsepower at that skyscraper!"
Sandaconda caused the ground under Boukun to erupt with power, leaving the Tyrantrum panting with fatigue. Mustering up as much power as he can, Boukun charged at Duraludon and body checked the titanic alloy dragon for major damage. Duraludon retaliated by punching Boukun with one of its gigantic hands, knocking the ancient dinosaur king out. Bakeru, unaffected by the Max Knuckle, vanished to Arceus knows where and Shiranui switched Boukun out and brought Kirigami back out for battle. Sandaconda's health was half gone thanks to the curse. "Sandaconda, Glare at Kartana; Duraludon, use Max Knuckle!"
"Kirigami, Laser Focus on Duraludon!"
Kirigami concentrated hard on Duraludon's weak spot and Sandaconda took advantage by slithering into Kirigami's field of view and glaring the Kartana to the point of fearful paralysis. Duraludon punched Kirigami with its huge hand, but the Kartana took advantage of the huge size difference to sneak between the spikes and avoid the hit. Bakeru reappeared on top of Duraludon's head and struck the skyscraper's spire. Sandaconda was drained from the curse for a third time and Duraludon shrunk back to its normal state with Bakeru on top of its head.
"Sandaconda, Fire Fang at Mimikyu; Duraludon, Iron Head the same target!"
"Bakeru, Baby-Doll-Eyes at Sandaconda; Kirigami, do what you do best and slice Duraludon with a Guillotine!"
Shiranui's Mimikyu stared at Sandaconda with adorably big eyes, nullifying one Attack Boost the latter got from the Max Knuckle attacks. With Duraludon distracted by a Mimikyu on its head, Kirigami brandished their sharp blade arms and sliced Duraludon's weak spot with two cutting slices that knocked the metallic dragon out. "Yhtrownu gnihtemos tuc evah I niaga ecno," Kirigami commented once again. Sandaconda's jaws ignited before the sand snake delivered a fiery bite to Bakeru, triggering the Mimikyu's Disguise ability. Bakeru smugly waved Sandaconda goodbye as the Mimikyu's Curse sapped the last of Sandaconda's HP.
"I might have lost, but I still look good. Maybe I should snap a quick selfie…" Raihan commented before bringing Shiranui, Bakeru and Kirigami over for the aforementioned selfie. Shiranui posed holding Kirigami like one of his shuriken and Bakeru back in his Disguised Form thanks to being recalled and sent back out, posing in the crook of Shiranui's left arm. With a snap of Raihan's phone camera, the selfie was taken and was then posted to various social media platforms. Shiranui was sent a copy of the selfie before getting a double hug from Numeru and her mate.
