As Orion looked him over, seeing the whip like marks on his chest. He decided to take better look. "Too much trouble for you but not me. This is my profession not stop talking till I ask you questions or I WILL gag you. Do I make myself clear?" He asks Shinlo, getting rather annoyed. He continued his examination, checking on the scars. "How did these happen?" He asks Shinlo.

Carth was glad he wasn't imagining things when he heard the voice again. He then nodded and looked to Shinlo and Orion before looking back to Isis. "Think it's because of the plant creatures?" He asks, wondering what if it was possibly due to injuries that weren't treated properly.

Shinlo looked down and muttered softly “the scars aren’t related…I’ve had them since I was a child…I…” Ash had come out and said “you were a slave?” Shinlo nodded softly, his hands shaking worse now. “I was…till I was found by a goddess who gave me the gift of the white snake…becoming her mortal ally. Isis” Isis nodded and her tongue came out. Shinlo said “I was a slave at the magic jade mines…whipping was a everyday thing…”

Then he said “the plant monsters were weeks ago…hit me from behind before I could destroy them…” he moved to move his shirt but flinched badly as he moved wrong and stopped. Ash moved over and slipped the white shirt off and gasped. “Orion…”

The scars on the back were even worse than the front. And new wounds were there, bandaged by himself by the angles. It was all a mess.

Carth was shocked to hear Shinlo's past. Orion was disgusted. He hated slavers and what they did. They were the kind he would never help.

Carth saw the way Shinlo flinched. He went over to help Ash remove his shirt and saw the damage done. Orion took a look himself and was ready to move. "Ash, help me get him to the bed and laying on his stomach." He ordered, ready to do what he could to fix this. He gently lifted Shinlo from one side, gently moving him to the bed and on his stomach as carefully as possible.

Once that was done, Orion carefully removed the bandages and then grabbed a bottle, a container, cloth, wraps and other tools. He the. Gently started applying a liquid by cloth to the edges and what he could to the wound. "This is a numbing compound, it will take a little to take effect but will help me treat your injuries." Orion explained.

Shinlo said “no really it’s fine…they will heal on their own they always do…” Ash took the other side and said “no way shin, you need help right now. Let Orion help”

Shinlo sighed and moved to lay down, shaking as he did. Ash was thinking and said “Orion, snakes can’t get fevers. His wounds might be infected but the markers are different”

Shinlo said weakly “no really…I’m sure it’s…nothing…” he gasped when the bandages came off and the wounds were bad. Infected and tough thanks to the already scar tissue. It was amazing he had hid the pain this long. Ash covered her mouth, tears in her eyes. “Shinlo…why would you risk like this…” he smiled at her as his vision blurred again and said “because my friend needed me…I couldn’t make her…her…” he suddenly stopped talking and his head hit the bed.

"He may not get fevers but this wound still needs to be treated. Now. This is going to be tough but manageable. Help me if you want but if not, I will need to ask you to leave the room while I work. There is another room next to this one. If you stay to help this will go by smoothly and quickly. I will have to remove some of the scar tissue to treat the infection and get it to heal properly." He explains.

Ash said “that’s not what I’m saying Orion. Without fevers he wouldn’t have known how bad it is. I’m saying be careful that might be a lot worse then we first thought…”

Ash moved to check on him and said “Orion, would that stuff knock him out? And make his breathing weak?”

"No. It only numbs. Never puts one to sleep. Let's prop his head then. But I do see where you are coming from. I'm not too verses with animals as I am with people." Orion explains. "This is why I want to try and reopen the wounds, check to see what is hidden so I may treat it accordingly."

Ash moved to help Shinlos head and check his pulse. “Orion his pulse is really weak” she moved to help and moved her hands to make blades of wind in her hands. “Where do you want me to cut”

"Then we need to get to work. Let's do this in sections. Start here." From there They worked diligently and carefully. Carth was monitoring Shinlo while Ash and Orion worked on his back. Working on clearing the infections, and sewing what he could that were worse off.

When they were done, Carth was still checking his pulse and breathing. Orion was wrapping up the last of his injuries. "Good work, and thank you."

Ash nodded as she sat back, sighing and worn but smiling. "HIs going to be okay...his been alone so long...I have to figure out why..?" Shinlo groaned, starting to come around.

Isis was curled up in Ash’s jacket and looked very happy coiled there.

Orion looked to Shinlo as he covered him up. "You passed out just before I treated your back. I did what I could and removed the infection. I had to stitch your back up the best i could but i will hurt. You'll need to stay in bed for a couple days but I'll make sure your as comfortable as possible."

Shinlo shook his head and said “we can’t…wait that long…we must push forward…” he flinched and Ash said “the wagon. You can rest in there Shinlo. You need the rest. When was the last time you slept?” He looked at her and said “not really sure…hurt too much to lay down…”

Shinlo looked at Ash who nodded. “It’s okay…you can rest now…your safe” he sighed then smiled weakly at them before he fell forward, out of range of Ash as she missed catching him before he fell off the bed.

Orion reached to catch Shinlo, with sigh of relief. Orion got him back on the bed, carefully on his back and covers him up before grabbing his pack and motions for them to head out the room. Carth nods and heads out of the room.

Ash looked at Shinlo and rested a hand on his forehead. A flash hit of a memory. Shinlo sitting across from her and drinking tea. “Lovely evening to spend with old friends. Even us gods have to have a day off right? Now tell me about this dark spirit you keep seeing…”

Ash stumbled back, holding her face as she left the room and shut the door.
