Welcome to the Imperial Storm Commandos

The year is 2BBY. Lothal has just fallen and Grand Admiral Thrawn and Battlegroup Chimera have disappeared into the Ether. You are Imperial Storm Commando's. Your official job is "To seek out those who would provide aid, comfort and technology to seditious groups and to bring them to justice" But the actual job is "Find Rebels, kill them. Find Rebel sympathizing scientists and capture them and their technologies for the glory of Empire and Emperor." You can be as mean and nasty as you want, or you can try to go about it the Hanns Scharff way of getting what you want through non-violent methods of trickery. So long as the Emperor gets his new toys, your strategy is of no consequence to him. And being Storm Commando's, you have the best and meanest toys that the Empire has at its disposal to get the job done.

You are a brand new squad aboard I.S.S. Revenge a Storm Commando Escort Carrier.

If there are any questions or you want to play a specific kind of Stormtrooper, please do respond. Also, when your character sheet is done, PM it to me with a Googledrive link.

I see from the interest check that you already have three prospects. Is there room for a fourth?

I'm thinking of playing a Pilot but I'm not sure how prevalent ship nonsense is gonna be if the rest of the group is grounded.

@MacabreMoth Honestly, 4 players is preferable. And there will be plenty of opportunity to pilot ships. It wouldn't be Star Wars without a couple of TIE vs X-Wing engagements.

Breaching action against another ship is always fun. Match shield frequency. Slip inside enemy shields. Open fire...... board and destroy rebel scum!!!!!!!!

I did that in empire and ty he dm was pissed. Made my computer and piloting rolls followed by firing all weapons at enemy engines. They died in orbit. Thermal detonator took out the bridge.

Just as a note, i realized that Soldier is the only class to start with any proficiency in Armour, so i've decided that you all also get Light Armour proficiency at level 1, whereas Soldier will get Heavy Armour proficiency as well. It's because otherwise, y'all can't even wear your Stormtrooper outfits unless you go Soldier.

Did we ever determine if we were going Level 1 or Level 3 for the start?

At any rate, I'm considering some kind of Noble/Scout build for my pilot. Probably from one of the big Imperial political planets since I like the concept of idle rich going into the military, and being a Face on the ground sounds fun.

Although I am also considering just leveraging the overlap to make a character who flies good and shoots big gun, since Vehicular Combat qualifies characters for some of the heavy gunner feats without needing the Prof: Heavy feat...

@MacabreMoth I did say in the Interest Check, being that we have people who have never played the system before, i think it'd be better to start at Level 1.

And yes, the "Pilot/Heavy Weapons" combo actually works quite well. Because i've never actually gotten the opportunity to play the game, i have theorycrafted a number of characters over the last 11 years i've been aware of this game. I did theorycraft a Pilot/Heavy-Trooper.

That being said, i'd recommend either Noble or Scoundrel for pilot, as Scoundrel gets some nice talents to help him with Starship combat, and Noble is just a great skillmonkey-class.

I think I've settled on a human jumptrooper from Mandalore. Figure he will be one of the remnant Imperial loyalist from there. Thinking either soldier or scoundrel.

@Lurking Krog

Super Commando, love it. Soldier has more stuff to do with Mandalorian combat. But Scoundrels have the dirty fighting stuff that makes Jumptroopers so fun. It all depends on what kind of character you want.

@Lurking Krog This is very much a Multiclassing system. Pureclassing isn't the best, but it's not bad. So, absolutely feel free to multi-class. Hell, one character i theorycrafted had bits from 3 primary classes.

Gotcha.

Piloting's pretty Feat-heavy so it pairs best with a Talent-heavy ground focus. I kinda like Noble for that since you can either be buffer or just yell at people until they give up, but CHA makes me just a lil' mad, yeah. Granted, I'm probably best positioned to take CHA other than the Inquisitor, but...

Yeah, I think I just talked myself into starting Noble, lol. Considering Fondor or Alderaan depending on how funny I want to be.

Choose a planet of origin. The DM then chooses 2 skills that you automatically get trained in from growing up on that planet.

What skills would having Anzat as a planet of origin provide?
