A bright, but chill afternoon...

The sun was already vanishing behind the tree line, while in the shade of the surrounding marshes, the faintest mist was already rising.

The steam that rose from the vents of a local diner had ceased, the "open" sign already cut out.

At the local high school, a banner that originally advertised support for the local football team now had a looser sign taped over it, that read "Game Cancelled Due to Weather". The remaining staff and students quickly exited, and merged with the rest of the pedestrians...

People moved in a hurried fashion, as a police vehicle slowly moved along the main street, calling out the final warning of curfew.

And one greyhound bus came to a stop outside the town hall, where the driver announced to it's passengers, "Alright, folks, disembark in an orderly manner, be sure to claim your luggage, and make sure to check in, those of you who've arranged a stay at the Nowhere Hotel. Those who haven't, meet up with your connections, be they friend or family, but Greyhound can't be responsible for passengers staying aboard..." He paused, hesitating at his final words, "This is the end of the line."

Leaning against the corner of the school building, Silo watched the bus arrive.
Curfew?
How stupid.
Why would grown adults need curfew?
Furthermore, he thought the bus driver was an absolute fool. End of the line? Was he trying to lose money? For what reason? Had he forgotten there might some people who want to leave the town?
Everyone seemed to be letting their fears get the best of them lately.
Shaking his head, he shoved off from the building, walking towards his neighborhood.
Maybe he'd drive his way out of this town, this weekend. He was tired of all the rules, and the way people regarded him. Being dirt-poor didn't help.

David was pissed. He knew that these people were nothing more than ignorant fools, unaware of the danger they were in. they were here to get on with there lives and nothing more, which he respected, but how ignorant. he had a hand on his gun holster, as the mist began to gather. Good. its not too thick yet. i still. have peace. he saw a rich dude walking off in a hissy fit, and he wondered what the hell was wrong. he walked off to his friend's house, (the friend had agreed to let him stay as he was out of town) and realized he was neighbors with the rich dude. Damn. the chances? he got a good laugh, but that was about it. the fog wasn't clearing, and so he wen't inside and locked all the doors and windows that he could find. Finally. Peace.
