"Dante got burned by the light magic in the attack earlier, and he is receiving emergency care for that, but I think he will be fine. most of us are fine. Chi was in some sort of strange agressive state when the attack hit us, and not very talkative. but effective in combat....he was the one that realized there was going to be an explosion, and he shielded the girl. he seemed outwardly find but went unconscious almost as soon as the smoke cleared. We got him into his tank, and he reverted to his natural form...he is clearly absorbing the algae we give him, but hasnt moved, spoken, or shifted since." he reports, "our guests are well handled. the girl is low on mana, and her friend....did get wounded, but the boss is handling his wounds. He should heal soon, since he is a werewolf."

In dantes room, Jacob is quiet as his elder puts up a strong front, but just as if to contraditct what he was saying to astra, he lightly slapped dante on one of his burns

Dante gasped and cursed loudly, his eyes flaring red as the burn split open and started to bleed and crack. Bane growled and said “we know his faking it, don’t make it worse to prove a point”

Aura frowned then said “we need to get ash into Chis room. It will help”

Jacob grimaces, "sorry...i didnt expect it to open from such a light tap." he quickly gets to work wiping the blood away and giving dante more blood

Astra shakes her head and sighs, "yu dont need to act tough for me Dante...im an adult, i can wait patiently for you to heal."

Jeb blinks, "the girl? it will?"

Aura nodded and said “yes. Ash. They had a fight before all of that and she’s the girl he was protecting. Trust me”

Dante was panting in pain as Bane moved over and grabbed gauze and grabbed a blood bag. He dumped the blood on it then rested it on the burns. “Blood heals…”

Jacob twitches slightly as bane pours the blood, but nods as he understands that bane is right. "Well, this is handled then....im going to step out." he says, smoothly trying to hide his own discomfort and growing hunger as he quickly shuffles out. Astra wasnt able to catch it, but she did think his departure was a bit sudden, looking at the door after him

Jeb hums, "usually just astra matters when hes hurt...but i'll trust you"

Bane glanced back then stood and saw Dante’s worried look. “I’ll take care of him Dante… Astra? Take over for me?” He handed her the bag and grabbed another one and followed.

Bane whistled and said “it’s Jacob right? When did you feed last?”

Aura nodded and sighed. “She’s with Dante…I can sense her heat markers…shes always running cold. But now she’s way warmer then normal”

"Well, let's go" Sighs Jeb, "No telling what will happen around Dante when he's like this."

Astra takes the bag from Bane and watches as he runs off too, frowning in confusion as she cuts the bag open and looks to Dante, "'Take care of him'...?"

The fang smoothly comes to a stop, and for a moment, Bane could probably feel the sense of a predator coming from him. And when he turns around, it seems like it still, but he doesnt have red eyes, or even show much at all. Instead, he gives a faint smile, and looks both amused and intrigued. "Perceptive, aren't we...?"

He looks over Bane, both as a well-trained predator, and as a soldier. A moment of tension, before a quiet chuckle, "I wouldn't worry about it. I am much better fed than my p-...boss.

Aura nodded adding "We better go make sure he is really resting and not over doing it..."

Dante coughed in pain and said "He wants you to make sure I don't hurt myself more..." he flinched adding "How did a wolf know that blood heals wounds..."

Bane frowned then asked "Then what is wrong? You're not okay...let me help"

Jeb leads the way to Dante's room, making sure to go slow and keeping aura comfortable as much as possible.

"...I just assume it's from his age. Or from his time fighting." Astra murmurs softly, continuing to treat Dante, even as Jeb and Aura walk in. They werent very far apart to begin with. "we are here to ask for the tinkerer.."

"Well, the truth is, it's not about when I ate...so much as where the blood has gone." he says quietly, as if admitting something, then calmly walks up to him and holds a hand out, "I can already tell you won't allow me to dismiss your concern. Hand it over."

Aura looked at him and said “I’m really okay. My body heals fast the hotter it is. My body you see is just my magic at work. Once my mana is built back up I’m all good”

Ash looked up and said “me? Why? Is something wrong?” Dante saw the girls hands shaking and tried to sit up. “Easy my dear…no reason to panic…” aura nodded and added “we thought you should see Chi”

Bane frowned but didn’t hand the blood over. “Mind explaining that to me?”

Jeb nodded, and maintained his calm demeanor. "Aura here believes your presence may be beneficial to his wellbeing. Though, to my eyes... it would benefit you as well." he ends it with a gentle smile.

Jacob raises an eyebrown and hums thoughtfully, considering the question and how much he wants to put out into the air. He contemplates it probably more than one might have expected. Then he just shrugs and waves it off, "Not anywhere near where certain people could hear me." he says casually, "I'm going hunting."

He turns on his heel to start casually walking down the hall, "Rest assured" he continues, this part almost in a sing-song voice, "If the base gets attacked again while I'm gone, I will be...very upset."

A moment of silence, "At the enemy, of course"

Ash looked down and tightened her hands into fists as Dante said “go oh Ash…I’m fine. I’m well cared for. Don’t blame yourself for my actions and the reactions of fate. Jeb, take her to Chi”

Bane frowned then moved to follow him, pocketing the blood just in case. “I’ll walk out with ya…make sure the base is secure”

Jeb nods, stepping aside so that Ash could easily join them on the way out, "Swift healing, Dante."

Jacob sighs, but continues on his way out, "Well, it's a good idea in anycase." He is quiet as they climb up and out of the base. Here, jacob takes a deep breath, stretches and yawns. Shifting side to side, he lightly tests his body and nods. "There we go, much better."

Dante nodded softly as they walked out. When it was just Astra and Dante he cursed and leaned his head back, gasping in pain. “Dang it…Astra…you shouldn’t…see me like this…”

Bane watched carefully and asked “so are we out of ear shot yet? I have a feeling there’s more to you then meets the eye”

the elven leader continues to tend to him softly,"Theres no point in pride now, Dante. I'm young, but I am...no longer young enough to need you to always look strong." she stops and smiles down at him, nostalgic. "I recall several nights where you would sit down with me, and make sure I was eating, or sleeping...some nights when you watched over me when I was sick, and my new parents needed the sleep at night." she takes a deep breath and sighs, "So yes...I'm worried. I would prefer you were in good health all the time. But....I also don't mind caring for you once in a while."

Jacob tilts his head, "Perhaps. I can always hope that he is too busy being in pain to keep it up" he smirks wryly, "but he is very stubborn."

He stands for another moment of silence, his mind thinking back to other times. Far more chaotic times. Many nights ago, when he was much younger, and a certain leader of his protected him before he had even known Jacob's name.

And then he pulled himself back to the present, and turned to the werewolf following him. "It's nothing. Not some grand secret. No mysterious spies or quests here. I simply didn't want my p-...boss" he clears his throat, "...to realize that he had snapped a rib when he cast me off earlier. I'm sure you're the keen sort, you would know how he would react."

It was just another short walk, the small group quickly finding their way to Chi's room, where inside it appeared to be like a clean office, but in the ceter was a table with what looked like a shallow fish tank, filled with green water, chi, and a bunch of other bits of floating plantlife. It's quiet here. Sound proof walls, with the inside sounding faintly of office lights, and a soft hum that seems to be coming from chi.

But for now, the small group stops outside the door, with Jeb patiently waiting for Ash to collect herself and be ready to go inside.

Dante looked over at her, his vision blurring along the edges. “I…was honored to watch over you Astra…you were and still the sweetest but bravest woman I’ve ever…met” he flinched as sweat ran down his face. “I’m okay…don’t worry…”

Bane frowned and moved over to his side, checking his ribs without hesitation and said “two out of place…one cracked alright. I can wrap it…but this blood won’t fix this. You’ll need magic infused…with healing boost. Well then” he pulled off his jacket and wrapped it around Jacob’s rib cage and then unbuttoned his shirt a little. “You need my blood to fix that before Dante notices”

Ash looked into the room but was trying to calm down. Why was she having such trouble? She closed her eyes a took a deep breath. “His not mad…it’s okay…”

Astra sighs as she pulls out another bag, slowly pouring it over where it needs to heal, "Somehow, given your history, I don't think it's very difficult to get that title" though she remains worried, she does try to lighten her tone up a bit.

The first time Bane had tried to touch him, he would find that Jacob shifted, or stepped, so smoothly as to end up just barely out of his reach. For a moment, there was a slightly darker expression - one more analytical and cold than before.

But it passed quickly and then the next moment, he is very clearly bemused, being wrapped up in a jacket and then having Bane offer his blood.

The speed in which this stranger offered so much to him was, perhaps, a bit off-putting for Jacob. "Really...I can handle it. I've set the the cracked rib, and can hide the rest.

Chi is there, in the middle of the office. He actually almost seems like a serene metalic boulder in a strange semi-aquatic set up. it wouldnt look odd at all if someone were to put little fish in there.

Dante chuckled weakly then his vision blurred again be he felt light headed. He tried to sit up and said “Astra…the trash can…I think I’m…going to be sick…”

Bane looked at him and said “you’re as bad as he is. Look, Dante is going to be down a while. He needs you to be top shape. My blood will make that happen sooner. I’ve done this before. I don’t mind. Let me help. Least I could do”

Ash swallowed and then walked into the room, moving to sit in front of the tank. “Chi? I’m here…” aura nodded and said softly “let’s see how this works”

Astra freezes for a second, then scrambles away to go retrieve the trash can, quickly bringing it over for him. "I have you."

"Hey now, he is at least twice as bad as I am" Jacob defends himself, but rather calmly and with a sense of humor about it. Then he shifts in place and coughs lightly, "Could you at least...offer your wrist instead?"

Chi appears to be able to sense Ash, if not hear in the traditional sense of the word. After she speaks, he seems to grow a bit taller and jiggle.

Dante bent over and puked into the bin, coughing a bit. “Dang it…must have gotten…light poisoning…this won’t be fun to watch…”

Bane shook his head. “Too much scar tissue for you there. I only unbuttoned to let the cold reach more. Make blood veins pop more. Higher on the arms might work…”

Ash sat this and said “Chi don’t push yourself. I’m here. It’s okay. Everyone is safe…”
