Additionally, here is my character sheet for everyone else's reference. (:
Full Name: Petria Darling
Alias: Pete
Age: She doesn’t actually know anymore. But I’ll tell you one thing – she’s older than she looks.
Gender: Female, of course.
Race: Well, she thinks human. What else could she possibly be?
Homeland: She never stays anywhere for long, and can't remember ever actually coming from anywhere. She's been around Germany, France, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Norway, Sweden, Ireland, the UK, etc. … She’s always felt a sense of attachment to London, England, though. She finds herself returning there often. Maybe that's where she's originally from.
Appearance:
Languages: English and conversational French. She's picked up words here and there from all the places she's been, but there's no way she can carry on a conversation with a non-English or -French speaker.
Height/Weight: She's by no means large, at a height of about 5'3" or 5'4". If I had to guess, I'd say she'd be about 110-115 lbs. She's just a wee thing. Quick, though. Very quick.
Outfit/Armor: As a wandering soul who has little care for what she wears, she doesn't own a lot of clothes. Normally you'd find her wearing dark tights on her legs, usually black. She has a long green v-neck shirt, almost a dress on her because she's so small, that she wears above these bottoms. She wears a pair of short brown boots that come just above her ankles, tied up with mismatching shoelaces. The tops of the boots fold over unevenly. She has a brown leather what-can-only-be-described-as-utility belt she wears over the green shirt that carries her various belongings and weapons. If necessary, she can hide it under a baggy and warm sweatshirt she takes with her sometimes. She also has a small brown fabric backpack that looks very worn, but loved. Perhaps most odd about Pete - or at least her belongings - is the wood flute that she always has with her.
Hunting Gear: The only thing showy about Pete is the weapons she'll carry. On a contract she will always bring her backpack to carry what she needs. However, her specialty is her
throwing knives, which she stores in her belt. She has four in total, and she places two at each side. Her aim is excellent, and she often uses her skill to hustle darts players in pubs. In hand-to-hand combat, she still uses two
knives (one in each hand), but these ones aren't made for throwing. She is known for being very resourceful (you have to be, living the way that she did).
Likes: Jokes, pranks, and games. Pete's a very childish and tomboyish girl, but she's a flirt and she's fairly clever. Music. Children.
Dislikes: Emotional or serious people, especially if they can't take a joke. Dresses. Pink. Responsibility, and being tethered down to one place. Being bored. Being called by her real name.
Occupation: She wandered from town to town, even country to country. Any money she needed came from playing pool, darts, or cards and winning. She's never done honest work a day in her life.
Skill Set: As said before, Pete's aim is excellent. Currently this is only put in use (weapons-wise) with her knives, but she's interested in learning other means. She's a skilled and avid flute-player, especially to a younger audience. She's clever and has played a lot of people in her lifetime, so she's good at reading people - and tricking them. Now perhaps by now I've made her out to be some sort of pervert, but Pete really isn't. She's just very childish, and has a way with children.
Magic Abilities: Gravity doesn't have much of a hold on Pete. She spends a lot more time up in the air than on the ground, and seems more comfortable that way. She isn't a fast flyer, as it is more of a floating ability than a flying one. To fly towards a destination with purpose is very much like running somewhere on the ground - it takes energy to do so. The flute music she plays has a sort of attractive quality to it, particularly to children - or childish people.
Pets/Companions: A female greenfinch named
Bell. Bell comes and goes often, but always comes back. It seems like Pete and Bell can communicate, and that Pete is the only one who can understand Bell.
Personality: Mischievous, childish, impish, free-spirited, nomadic ... these are all words that can be used to describe Pete. She can also be a bit self-centered, and is not good at understanding or sympathizing with emotions or "deep" thoughts. She has a little bit of a temper, but is quickly and easily distracted so never stays mad for long or holds a grudge. She doesn't mind a bit of a scrap once in a while, being the tomboy that she is, but is typically very cheerful and light-hearted.
Background: Unfortunately for the rest of us, Pete doesn't remember ever having parents or siblings. Or any type of family, really. All she remembers is wandering, making friends, living free and carelessly. Every once in a while she'd pick up a friend or two and they'd come with her for a while, but they never stayed for long. Sooner or later they all settled down somewhere and decided that the nomadic life Pete led was not for them. It annoyed her, sure, but she was young and free and didn't need them. They could all get old and wrinkly and boring, for all she cared. She's always had Bell, though. Her most loyal friend.
At some point, Pete learned that there were all kinds of things that went bump in the night. They frightened her, but being the fiercely independent girl she was and is, she learned how to avoid them or defend herself if she had to. The encounters were few and far between.
When she was found out and "debriefed" by the people that the Kingdom Guild sent for her, she picked her teeth with one of her knives and thought for all of ten seconds. It all just sounded like another exciting adventure. Pete always, always leaped at the chance for an adventure. Always. However, as more time passes, she will become restless and anxious to go. She hates staying in one place for long.
