Raito planted the flag upright with a huff. The erecting of the symbol of his nation did however kick up dust, causing him to cough and wave the air around him.
"M'lord! Are you alright?!" Alton hurried to his side and waved away the rest of the dust with vigor. "Yes, I'm fine," Raito replied dryly, letting out one last cough. He knew Alton always meant well, but sometimes he was simply too over baring. Alton opened his mouth to further comfort his lord, but was cut off by a deeper voice. "The ruins have been thoroughly scouted, sir. Unfortunately I've some unsettling news." Raito turned around to see two men sharing horse back, one was donned in robes, like himself and Alton. This one was the one who had spoken, and he dismounted the steed as he continued his report. "It would seem that there is another group of soldiers here. They appear to be aware of our presence, and are mobilizing for an assault. They don't look to be the type willing to parley."
"Thank you Ezeras. Alright, everyone, prepare yourselves." Raito replied, addressing the troop. "Ezeras, you and Kirin shall take point, since you've familiarized yourselves with the area."
"Yes, sir." Ezeras nodded and took position. Kirin, the other man on the horse, nodded as well, but did not vocally respond. Raito never could figure out if Kirin chose not to speak or couldn't speak, but he was one of the finest soldiers he had, and that was always more than enough.
"Good," Raito continued, "Raven, you're with Ezeras. Alton, on me." Receiving an affirmative from the swordswoman and monk, Raito drew his tome and issued one more order, "Alright everyone, move out!"
