I really want this to happen. It would be cool to be a hamanaiad (half naiad) and control water or something. I'm guessing we'll all have special powers anyway?

You won't, actually. Naiads didn't control the water, but they could become water. I should mention this isn't a super power RP. I'm aware some creatures have control over elements, but as young individuals, your control should be exceptionally limited and difficult to use *and no, you can't in a fit of anger, suddenly unleash hidden power from deep within your soul to cause devastation, this isn't that type of RP*

However, seeing the amount of interest that has developed in this, know that I am working on it and I will attempt to get it up after work tonight. I was too busy yesterday to do so.

Also, the more popular races will be limited to a specific myth. Vamps DIE in sunlight unless completely covered from head to toe, no Twilight vamps, no half vamp daywalkers, you are full vamp and all that the original myth entails. I'll give more details in the actual OOC when it's up.

And here I was hoping to play a Dhampir of Slavic myth. A bit biased don't you think?

Daywalker Vampires that aren't overpowered...
-lose all their supernatural abilities during the day (pretty sure Dracula or aother vampire or something could do this.
-are actually weaker than humans during the day.
-can walk under day light, if they can actually stop themselves from sleeping during the day.

Slavic vampires are more or less demons/spirits as well, and should prolly take in similar weaknesses.

Also, I'd like to express my interest in this RP! I'll do a wooden changeling, even though most changelings are usually elven/troll children...and also don't usually get past the children thing before being driven out entirely. It's gonna be greatly weak against fire, wood rot, termites, anything that negates magic, axes, and beavers. I'm not even joking. Cheers.

The Dhampirs also were known as not having bones and a jelly like body, dirty, no nails, a deep bruise on their back resembling a tail, alongside living a very short lifespan. Would you take those into account as well? A good writer/character will learn to overcome the weakness of the sun aspect, and use it to make someone more interesting because of it.

I'm sorry. But I've seen the myths and such bastardized enough to force certain limitations, especially when the same creature *like vampires* appears in multiple cultures with dramatic differences between them all. The myth I'll be using is the common European one. Vampires need blood to survive, they burn up in sunlight, they must sleep in coffins, garlic is repulsive, no reflections, can't breed. Plain and simple. I'm ignoring the inviting into houses and sleeping on gravesoil for convenience sake.
If you would like help coming up with a different creature that may suit your tastes, PM me, I'll happily help you out. If you also think that you can convince me to allow the Dhampir, then by all means wait till I get the CS up, make the character you wanted, and send it to me in a PM for me to overlook. No promises however.

EDIT: It's up. OOC

These are all traits from different interpretations from various Balkan regions. The Albanian dhampir has long, dark hair, a corpse-like visage and does not cast a shadow.

This is not a vampire of folklore, but the vampire of gothic literature that was invented in the 19th century. The weakness to sunlight is particularly egregious, as it was not even in such works as Dracula or Carmilla, and the earliest example I can find of it would be in the 1922 film Nosferatu.

Please do not claim that others are "bastardizing" myths if you are not drawing from them, yourself.

Far from it, I'm simplifying to a single myth, a more commonly used and popular one to avoid confusion. You are welcome to either follow such simplification, or find another RP that may be more suitable to your tastes.

Okay, I'll just inhabit a fountain or something. Maybe I could just have the ability to phase in and out of any water source (nothing OP, like inhabiting water vapour in the atmosphere, just sources of the same volume as my body or more). And is this based in medieval/fantasy times, or a secret sanctuary for modern-day mythical creatures? I re-read the description, but I still can't work it out D: Am I stupid? 0_o
