Well, the site's been down most of the day as you all know, and I've been home from work with general feeling terrible and unfit to go in, so I put a lot of work into the OOC info. I'm typing it up in Google Drive before I post it, so I can review it and such. I'm getting to the point of working on the character sheet, so that will probably be my main thing tomorrow evening, before I hopefully post it up then, along with finding suitable images for various things.

I have a pretty good angle on the plot, so that ought to help things get off to a start, I just hope that people are interested in it, and don't founder at the first hurdle.

Happy to hear that good work has been put in, but I do hope you get better. In the meantime, I think I shall start on the basic ideas for my character(s). Might I ask for a sort of style of mecha to search up for the time being?

Mecha are all going to be standard issue this time, so that everything is all consistent and there's no half-assed explanations as to why a unified force is using a dozen different types of machine within the same unit. It also means I don't have to put pages and pages of info on what they're like, how they're constructed, what the controls are like, and what their weapons are like - I can just point to animation clips or existing sites and say 'this'.

I'd be interested. I was actually rejoining the Forum RP world weeks before the RPGuild incident. I had come across your Gears forum and loved your attention to detail. I'm still a bit rusty but if you have the space I'd be grateful.

Sorry, but I honestly want to keep things consistent and not have to carefully watch each mecha to make sure it fits in with the setting. I struggled with that last time, and I didn't want to go through it this time again or have to work out why there's 'this one special squadron that has all these different mecha...'

If it's a deal-breaker, then sorry to hear that, but I'm not budging from it this time around. Really, I don't see why it's such an issue. I would've thought that piloting an ultratech fighter jet that can fly in space, and turn into a giant robot is cool enough for most people, but as soon as you seem to say 'oh, and your friend has the same one', it suddenly stops being cool enough for some people. Is being a RL fighter pilot any less exciting because other fighter pilots fly the same planes? I don't quite get it.

If you like your characters enough, and they're individuals, then it shouldn't really matter what mecha they pilot to make them unique anyway. Give them different paint schemes or something?

There'll be a limited pool of machines to choose from, so you will get some choice, but it will be limited.

Sorry that it's taking so long for the OOC - I didn't get a chance to do anything last night. It'll be up 'when it's up' but shouldn't be too long. RL keeps getting in the way at the moment.

Oh, if there's a pool of mecha to choose from, then it's fine. I was just hoping that the group would have something somewhat unique. Don't worry, it's not that much of deal-breaker, just a small bother.

I'm guessing you mean pilots? I'd prefer people play them. If nothing else, it seems kind of strange to me for someone to be interested in a mecha game and not want to pilot a mech. Most of the action will be space - based this time, so a helicopter won't be an option, but if you desperately must not play a pilot, I suppose you could play a mechanic or something. I'm really wanting to keep the focus tightly on a small group of pilots though.

I'll see what I can do. If I think up a Mecha I will set it up and be happy! But as you know I am very crappy when it comes to mecha knowledge. If I become as you say "desperate" than I will take up your offer on that side character.

Well, see the conversation above - you won't have to think something up, as the mecha are all standardised and everyone will be piloting one of a small choice of machines. And all of them are from existing anime, so you'll have clips and such to draw on for reference purposes.

Awesome. Alright then! It's a relief to know there will be clips to refer to. I'll hold onto that hope and build off of whatever is provided.

Basic characters are done (no images, I'm too lazy to go looking or commission one from one of my arty friends), now I just need to wait and see how things are.

The OOC is finally up - sorry it took so long, but as you'll see there was a lot I wanted to cover, and it's still not quite finished (I still want a pretty picture for the banner)
There should be enough there for you to create your characters, or at least get reading. I await your questions, complaints and dropping-out messages tomorrow. Now I need to sleep.

EDIT: I edited my sleep-deprived tags, so that the OOC looks like less of a mess. Hopefully it should now be a bit more readable.
There's still work to be done on some of the links, but the necessary information is still there to allow character creation and posting to begin. Aristo gets the cookie for being the first person to actually post anything!
