I'm rather interested! It reminds me of Fairy Tail!

Question about magic! Are the spells based more around the elements or can we get a bit more creative with them? An example being perhaps supporting magic or whatever, to temporary boost a group member's strength or something like that.

Also would a familiar/follower be acceptable?

It depends on the follower. If it's some kind of beast then it would be much easier to get their hands on. A familiar, much less so and they'd need a good reason for it.

And yes magic has many applications beyond just elemental, but spells such as increasing strength and all that would be more advanced magic. Magic users generally start off with very simple spells. For some examples, the runes they draw would say things like: Throw Fire, Give Element Flame. Simple things. Runes are mixed together to create spells though, and the runes for 'enhance' and 'strength' let's call them, would be more advanced than anything a starter character would know. But yes, sooner or later they could learn to use such spells.

Also Pink, I'd just like to point out that nobody is making you play with Sam's character. You don't have to go on quests with them. You can join other groups, form your own groups, or even make your own quests if you would like. I'm sorry to be blunt about this, but as the GM of this RP I'm going to tell you that it's not your place to moderate people's characters. Suggestions or feedback are appreciated I'm sure, but if it's just because you have a 'problem' with a character because you don't like something about them, please keep it to yourself.

I don't mean to be a downer to anyone, but I've had a few RPs where the GM was just the initial idea maker and people started getting a little out of hand with their attitudes and the GM was just another face in the crowd. I myself will not put up with that kind of behavior towards other players in the RP, and if I see it I will either warn you, or simply report it directly to the mods. This isn't aimed at you Pink at all. You haven't done anything wrong really or anything I'd get mad about. This is just a warning to everyone since we have a lot of people here and it can be easy to get a little heated with so many. Keep a level head and think about the things you say before you say them.

I will be looking at profiles later today and will try to set up a general area with my own character to guide people to where they should aim at for their character's level of power based on the profiles people have up by then. I forgot to mention also in the OC that this is also a world building RP in which everyone may add their own parts to the world. Just keep in mind... Currently the RP takes place ona single continent that is one large landmass. It may have some small islands here and there on the borders, but for the most part it is one solid piece of land.

Physical Description:

Approximately 5"10, Heloise has skin browned from the sun, long brown hair, falling below her shoulders, chocolate brown eyes, a smattering of freckles across her face. She has a scar along the left side of her neck.

Her eyes are slightly cat like, betraying the elven in her linage, despite the fact it was her great-grandmother who was the elf in her family tree. Her ears are less rounded then a humans should be, but nothing noticeable unless under closer scrutiny.

She has a slim, curvaceous build, and has well toned upper body muscles for a woman, due to her frequent use of a bow.

She typically keeps her hair tied back, out of her face and at times does wear it tucked into her shirt. She commonly wears shirts and pants, disliking skirts and dresses.

Personality:

Heloise is what one would call "bubbly", in other words, she is bright and cheerful. She enjoys being around people, and has no qualms about not being wanted. She has a way of getting people to talk, of making them feel at ease with her. Despite her bubbly nature, she does have a serious side. She is a highly determined individual, and is extremely brave. She would do anything for those she considers friend, and is loyal to death to them.

She loves the outdoors, and enjoys dancing and singing. She enjoys drawing and writing, and often finds ways of incorporating both into her daily life.

History:

Born to craftsman parents, Heloise learned the life of makers. She grew up learning how to create things, and had, when she reach 13, crafted her own bow. Sadly that year, disaster struck her village, a fire consumed several of the buildings, and many of the villagers died. Her parents died saving her, throwing her on a horse, and sending it running away.

Grief stricken, Heloise was unable to stay in the village. She fled with her horse, and eventually, she was taken in by a magic user by the name of Nyx. Nyx gave her some semblance of family, and structure. She taught her how to use magic, although Heloise prefers to use her bow and arrow, soon becoming an expert marksman.

When Heloise turned 18, she decided to head out on her own. She brought a new horse, and set out. She traveled for three years, living off the land, meeting various people, before reaching the capital of Sersia, and found a notice:

"Many come from all around to join guilds simply for the access to the quests which pay considerably well. They find however that this guild has much higher standards, and requires more of a person than a desire to fill their pockets. More than ambition, a member of this guild must have courage and honor, and enough room in their hearts for the ones they will call their guild mates. It may sound silly, and even a bit corny, but these bonds are the bonds that make this the greatest guild in all the land.

So do you have what it takes, can you call yourself a member of Iron Tree?"


Having heard of guilds, and deciding this one was a perfect place for her, she made her way to Iron tree.

Heloise is an excellent marksman with a bow and arrow, as well as with daggers and knives (throwing, that is)
She has some small measure of skill in hand to hand combat, but prefers ranged attacks.
She can use magic, but doesn't know much about the use of it.

Name: Goes by SwiftPaw, or just Swift in the tongue of men.

Age: 18

Race: Leonin(using the MtG race name, because it's basic and descriptive).



Personality: Amicable and friendly, Swift forms bonds with surprising ease, owing to his race's historical need to group together. He is fiercely loyal and protective of his "pride," particularly those who are physically smaller. He is quick to act, and somewhat impulsive. Has a cultural deference towards women.

History: Far from Sersia is the grassland kingdom of Ishhae, ruled by the Leonin, who are mighty hunters most of the time, and warriors only when needed. There have been times when they have clashed with other races in Forrasia, but in the last few decades Ishhae has been peaceful. Some even consider it a safe haven, if not a very civilized place. The Leonin live simple lives, their livelihood usually revolving around hunting. As such, speed and strength are greatly admired, and one particular family has been renowned for their speed of paw.

SwiftPaw is the youngest cub of the latest litter in his family. He lives up to his name well enough, and when Iron Tree sent its invitations to all corners of the world, Swift decided to take them up on it.

Class: Falconer

Full list of combat skills: Has no experience or training in combat whatsoever. Is, however, an experienced game hunter with spears and trained birds.

Extra Details: Can understand the language of birds, but needs a special flute to speak it back. According to Swift, birds that live in cities talk utter nonsense.

At the time of his arrival in Sersia, he carries only the clothes on his back, a decorative war club, and a spear. His bird, Ka, flies wherever he does.

Atheena

Personality: Atheena is brave, courageous and willing to do just anything she puts her mind to. She often acts on impulse and will do whatever necessary to succeed at a task. She can be vain and very self centered at times but she can also be caring and sympathetic to those that she is close to and cares about. Sometimes she can also be a bit motherly, watching out for someone the way she would a child.

History: Atheena was born into a noble family in the eastern part of Elderlug, a neighboring town. Though her mother died when Atheena was young, she still lived a lavish lifestyle with her father and two brothers. Growing up as the only girl in the house, she tended to enjoy doing more boyish things. Her father and brothers were very skilled huntsmen that took pride in the sport. Atheena found watching them exciting and exhilarating and wanted to be a part of the excitement. Her father, upon hearing of her interest in hunting, taught her the basics of using a bow before taking her on her first hunt with him. As time passed, Atheena proved to be a skilled huntress with a bow, impressing her family and friends.

When she grew older, she became more adventurous and interested in things beyond her small town. At the age of 20, she and her dog White-fang left the town in search of adventure and fun.

Class: Noble. Archer. (Not sure if that's what you wanted here.)

Full list of combat skills: She is very skilled with a bow, however, this does not mean she is perfect with one. She can still use practice and training whenever possible. She doesn't really have any other skills but she would like to learn some hand to hand combat and how to use magic.

Extra Details: Atheena brings her white, wolf-like dog, White-Fang, everywhere with her due to the close bond she formed with it when she found him lying half dead and nursed him back to health. They are nearly inseperable and she considers him one of her best friends.

Saving this spot for my cs whenever I get a chance. so my,character concept is a novice archer, whose primary skill before joining the guild was falconry. Will have to learn combat skills from their guildmates. I'm torn on race between a lion person(khajiit or Leonin) or an early MtG style elf(horns, cloven hooves, very much a forest ttoe elf).

Alaric looks good for the most part, but I think it would be best if the specific mention of rape were taken out.

Crystoph is accepted.

Heloise is accepted though I would cut back the 'expert marksman' just a tad.

Atheena is also accepted.

Looking at the profiles, it would seem the general traits that characters people are making have is having only one or two primary skills with very little mastery over other things. For example, everyone seems to match the classes of marksman, swordsman and all that. Nobody really seems to have a general character that can do a lot of things. Lots of humans too. I think I'll do something like a 'Race of the Week" where I make up a new race and put out all the details about them lol. That way we can start to build up the life in the world. My profile will be rather short as I play the strong quiet and mysterious character! Strong willed that is. DWI!

Name: Fang... *Cough* I mean, uh... Maria

Age: 23

Personality: Maria is pretty laid back and careless about most things. She often acts strong willed and tends to see the brighter sides of things. She's not one to back down from a fight if she can help it, and often looks for ways to get around obstacles that would otherwise be a difficult challenge. She's not very feminine in her behavior, often acting more like a man than many men do. She does however still retain many things that make her the woman she is. Specifically she is very clean, never drinks, and her body lacks much muscle.

History: Maria's past is a history, and she refuses to give anyone her last name. It took a while for her to be accepted into the guild for this reason, but finally the Guild Master trusted her and she was officially a member of Iron Tree. Since then she has spent more time sitting around the guild drinking juice and eating snacks than she has going on quests. She does enough to make her keep and not be a moocher, but she still doesn't actively seek out challenges like other members of the group. That's not to say she refuses to accept quests of course.

Class: Combat Healer

Full list of combat skills: Maria uses her magic to heal her friends, and because of this usually plays more of a support role in groups. She doesn't ever take on challenging quests by herself, as she lacks the spell knowledge to actually attack her enemies. For offensive ability, Maria is left with her staff. She's not the best with it, but she's far from defenseless. She only knows one spell:

Water Orb: Water spells are known for their healing abilities, and the water orb spell creates a small orb of magic water that can be controlled for a short time by the caster. It floats through the air wherever the caster commands, and when it touches wounds it heals them. It's a small orb though, and so it can't be used to heal very many wounds.

Yeah, since we're heavy on humans and archers, I'm gonna go with the cat person, and switch up combat.

Actually, I think what I'm going to do is have my character go in with basically no combat experience, and learn from the other characters.
