I think she would have scolded them even if they had used magic to fight each other. I mean, since when DON'T teachers look down upon aggression against students?

Neither do I, and this isn't the first time tension has started over a trivial matter. This is an RP, and as much as we'd all like for it to stick to the canon as close as possible, don't be so anal about every single thing. It just starts getting annoying and really takes the fun out of an RP we should all be enjoying. Samantha wants to punch some kids in the face? Oh no! It's going to completely ruin the continuity of Rowling's works! New spells are being made? Can't have that, it isn't canon!

See how ridiculous that all sounds? Try to be more lenient on these things guys, none of it is going to mess up what's already been established in the series.

Tension? What tension? They're just having a discussion. Discussion happens in RP's. has anyone been mean or started throwing curse words or derogatory comments around? No, I do not believe so. We're all mature here, we can have discussions about such things to hopefully reach a conclusion where one concedes the other is right, and if not, then drop the subject like a mature adult like I did last night when obviously clear that neither Yog nor I would be able to convince either of our point of view.

No one here has started arguing or started this so-called 'tension'. Honestly, I enjoy these little discussions. Why? I find them interesting and I like to see what the outcome is. A little discussion shouldn't be of consequence to anyone. The discussion between Apoka and Yog, is between them and should be resolved between them.

No, I actually don't. Some people like sticking to the cannon. While I'm not some huge Lore Master that says everything must stick 100% to the cannon or everyone should burn in hell, some, actually are and which is how they enjoy it.

Well it simply seemed to me that things were becoming tense, or at least had the potential to become as such. I've already been through a few long discussions that started similar to this one, and frankly it simply ruined the way I and others were enjoying the RP. You'll have to forgive me if I prefer these things to be settled quickly and without as much entertaining back-and-forths.

I apologize if I'm being "anal" about the lore of Harry Potter, however, it's disrespectful to completely disregard the rules and the setting of a writer's work. There are things I have not argue with that completely broke canon like straight out of the water when it has been clearly stated that that's not the way it works. However, I don't find the things I bring up trivial. Matter of fact, on the animagus debate I gave hard proof that you would NOT be an animagus in school, and if you were, it would be at least in your 6th or 7th year - that is assuming if you are actually good in transfiguration. I gave up the argument because, I mean, being a fuckin' animagus is cool. And then someone else says that so and so would happen in the wizarding world without proof and everyone goes with it. I am offended, I will not lie. I have not read all the Harry Potter books, but I research things deeply before I start it because I know if I were to write a book and someone were to roleplay it and change the rules, I would be incredibly pissed. In my opinion, I'm not being "anal" about this - I'm trying to stick to the laws set by J. K. Rowling. Wizards probably wouldn't associate fighting with muggles because everyone does it. Bellatrix Lestrange used physical violence, technically. And she was anti-muggle! So did many others. They may have relied on magic, but they could throw a punch if they needed to (or carve Mudblood into the hero's best friend's arm if they needed to). I didn't even bring up the muggle thing - I was just supporting it with my opinion. So far, though, I have been very mature about these "arguments" and have dropped them when they have gotten too heated. But I feel as no one really takes in my account of what I say because I'm trying to stick to Rowling's rules. I'm fine with something's not being up to lore...but if you just wanted to break the whole Harry Potter world, then what is the point of calling it a Harry Potter RP? Why not just call it a wizard RP? I am perfectly fine with new spells being made...as long as they don't break the physics of magic. There are branches in magic that you should look at before inventing a new spell. Transfiguration has different branches that you learn at different ages - like conjuration is taught the fifth or sixth year. For things to be more enjoyable, you have to work to get something. You want to learn an awesome new spell? Great for you - but if you learn it randomly, without learning the basics of that spell, then what's the point of being at Hogwarts? I wouldn't learn how to conjure a chair before I learned the formula for conjuring, would I? That's like learning how to do long division before you know subtraction. But, I don't want people to feel like I am personally attacking them - I'm not. I enjoy debates; I am an argumentive (is this a word?) person. I get into debates with my best friend all the time (which I usually don't win even if I show her proof on my phone at that exact minute and she just blows up...? ((She's not good at admitting defeat)). Yes, I think that Slytherins would probably not care about Acacia using Willow. Why? They have a sense of self-preservation. Why would they potentially risk their neck for someone they honestly couldn't give two shits about?

Now that that's done and my feelings are expressed, I have something else to propose. We should get a plot line. Recently we have just been aimlessly doing whatever which will continue until we all have a conflict. Like maybe someone powerful rising up? (No Voldemort...he dead.

I'd like to make it clear that I was mainly referring to the whole discussion about wizards using physical violence, which I feel was unnecessary to begin with as it isn't really that big of a thing when compared to previous discussions like the animagus. If I have offended you, then I do apologize.

I know that the mention of a potential plot line was brought up in the very beginning (not involving Voldy cause he is as dead as a door-nail. Does the GM have anything in mind if he does want one to begin with? If not we could hold a vote for a plot-line and discuss possible options. I myself am up for anything :)

Well I think that giving Finch something to start investigating would be cool 'Totally not telling you good hearted students to start doing illegal things'
