Took me a while, but here, have my attempt of a character:
Name: Jared Alburn
Age:388 (Appears to be in his twenties)
Gender:Male
Class:Vampire
Appearance:Personality:"I'm too old to be some any form of serious, come on."Jared's the type of person which always seems to be carrying some sort of satisfied smile in his face, someone with the strange ability to jest about any situation, as serious as it is. It feels like he's got some sort of permanent 'I don't care' aura around him, which is true. In fact, the man doesn't bothers to care about anything, because in his own perception of life (or rather, unlife), caring is boring. Obviously, he knows when to get serious, but he usually doesn't respects that moment either. The vampire makes jokes about everything and everyone, friends or foes. He tends to be pretty ironic as well, often throwing blunt comments and answers towards people, for no reason at all. Coupled up with his irony, is the sarcastic behavior which always tends to get him the best of laughs, at the cost of making those around him quite angered.
Despite the attitude, the man is as experienced as someone who has lived for over three hundreds of years would be. And as grumpy as an old man would be. He obviously holds certain distaste towards Lycans, and generally some other Downworlders too. Jared tends to keep his distaste to himself, however, whenever someone irritates him, he will bluntly spit out every insult related to the person's race. All those years have made him used to being a vampire and it assured him that he's better as one, but not only that, that a vampire is better than others, but he never states that. In fact, it's easier for him to make a joke comparing a dog to a lycan.
Biography:Jared was born in a small farm in England, his parents were extremely simple persons who only had enough to feed themselves. They produced everything they consumed, from food to clothes. However, from times to times, a landlord came and literally took what they had in change of the little piece of land they were in. As unfair as that was, it was their life and they had to no option rather than deal with it and start over again. Those times were difficult, but Jared (named Gilbert back then) grew up as a fine man and that exactly what he shouldn't have done. The war between the King and the Parliament was part of the landowner's business, and so he demanded that the young man would take part into it. Saying no would result in his family homeless or even worse, and so Gilbert went to a war... which lasted very little for him.
Found bleeding and dying in an alley, after being gutted by a soldier, Gilbert cursed the Civil War and how much it sucked while the consciousness was taken away from him. The last thing he saw was a shadow moving around him, which he thought to be some sort of animal because of the speed. He also heard a wicked laughter, but to him, that was his mind going utterly insane.
Then he woke up. He wasn't sure of how much time it had been, but he could see nothing. He was in complete darkness... His hands lunged forward, something like... wood? He found himself inside of a box, or something like that. He could smell earth, he could smell blood above him. The man wasn't sure of what was going on, he reached his hands over his face, alive? Alive. With forceful punches, he started to break the wood in front of him, which was in fact part of a coffin. A few more punches, and suddenly earth started to fall on his face, he became desperate, until he realized that he didn't need to breathe. Crawling his way up, the man found himself standing in a graveyard. His eyes blinked more than a few times as he glanced back and forth, this smell... He couldn't control it. He suddenly leaped forward, a panic scream was heard but he didn't care. The poor woman he attacked lasted only a few seconds before the newly born vampire drained her dry, until nothing but a lifeless corpse was left in place. Some people gathered upon hearing the scream, their mistake. Gilbert attacked each one of them.
Some time passed and Gilbert wasn't sure of what he was. He was alive, somewhat, but... It was so strange. He walked until he was back in his parent's farm only to find it abandoned, with no traces of his parents. The man didn't even consider the possibilities, he simply began his way to the landowners place, and upon reaching there, he feasted on each and every family member, until he found the landowner himself. He beat the man to death with his bare hands, but before killing him, he leaned closer to the man and whispered something, then took the necklace from the man's neck. It was a beautiful necklace with his family-crest, made of rare and expensive gems. The man was left to die while Gilbert walked away.
The time passed and Jared realized he wasn't getting any older, and every morning, he woke up, tried to shave that little excuse of a beard, washed his face and bam. There was it again. Something strange, indeed, because it also didn't grow any bigger. Curse of the ugly beard, he thought. But no matter, the man soon started to find his life... lifeless. Dull. Boring. That was when he had a change of attitude, apparently teasing people and making fun of them was enlightening. Eventually, he became increasingly bored of this, too. It was just too lonesome, too annoying. It was at this time that he decided to aboard a boat to... New York! The thought of a whole new place seemed so exciting, and the next few days were filled with ironically vivid anxiousness.
Once in New York, he soon discovered that things weren't as simple as in the small place he was living before. Certain people knew what he was, and in here, there were some rules which he'd need to follow. Gilbert, not happy with his name, started to call himself Jared; and since he was pretty much unknown here, there was no problem in convincing others about that. The years followed by and he grew older, much older. He saw things changing, rechanging, becoming better, bitter, colder, warmer and what impressed him the most was the technology advances. And certain event about certain demon which was what everything was talking about recently.
Sounds like fun.
Other: He's always wearing some sort of expensive-looking necklace, which is tugged under his shirt.
