Superhero Submission
Name: Mike MacGyver
Nickname: Smoke (sometimes jokingly referred to as Magic Mike - a reference he gets - or MacGyver Jr - a reference he doesn't get.)
Age: 22
Look:
Costume: Pretty much street clothes with long jeans and a long-sleeved hoodie (can change colour from day-to-day - who needs a colour scheme?) - normally a black one. Also carries a small black backpack with him everywhere.
Powers: He doesn't really have any powers, but he is incredibly athletic and agile due to training towards being a magician. (Contortionism and "quickly-cross-the-road-while-everyones-distracted" training in particular were useful.)
Skills: His magician training makes him athletic, good with his hands (particularly knot-tying or prop-building), and he has years of experience at making smoke. Also, magic skills such as sleight-of-hand. Also he's not too bad at computers, but no whiz.
Weapons/Tools: Smoke pellets in the soles of his (expensive and therefore hgh quality) shoes; a smoke bomb on his belt (in case of emergency); a backpack full of ropes, bungee cords, random tools, throwing knives, smoke-making toys, duct tape, rubber bands, paper clips, playing cards, Blu-Tack, etc. Random tools like that.
Weaknesses:
1) He is only human and only young - very mortal.
2) He isn't actually all that good at magic. He just never had the knack.
3) He sometimes gets ahead of himself and tries to do things he can't actually do in an attempt to look cool.
Bio:
As a boy, Mike always looked up to Mysterio, the legendary enemy of the legendary Spiderman. Mysterio could always appear to be doing impossible things, such as free-flight or teleportation, but it was always an illusion. So after school when he got to move out, he focussed on magic instead of actually doing his college work (he was studying Information Technology). He was no good at it, but regardless, he got professional training and learned some very valuable skills involving rope, smoke, rubber bands and cards. (He was awful at handling cards, but he can throw them in people's faces if they get close enough, so that's a plus.)
As a street magician, he overdid the smoke thing and while he nailed the look, he could not impress like the street magicians of old - Dynamo, Criss Angel or David Blaine. So he decided to try and be a superhero. He works well in a team, although he likes to think that he is a dark and mysterious solo act.
