Okay so I'm curious, would you guys be willing to take on a Yahg that was part of a Salarian STG research project? If not I have other ideas, but I have been dying to play my Yahg character again.

Probably not. Although that is technically canon from ME3 (though I couldn't find a date for the research project or when the one yahg escaped), it'd be hard to pull off an argument for a yahg in the team. Yahgs are not allowed in Citadel space/to be dealt with in Citadel space, so Nova would have an extra reason to be gunned down off the bat if they took 'em in. That isn't a deal breaker on its own (we've got a few of those guys), but yahg are known to be both extremely intelligent, perceptive, and aggressive/murderous. The reason they got blocked from the space community is because they killed the Council delegation for acting as equals. It'd be a constant threat and danger to the team, especially since there's not much known about the yahg's psychology.

If you can make a really fantastic argument for it, maybe it'd work. But the yahg's mindset and temperament, combined with the fact they can be a serious risk, isn't genial to cooperation. Especially on a ship that's running a democracy.

First off I won't push the topic because I know what it's like to have a prick on your tail because of conflicting ideas/mindsets. However you bring up a point which is directly involved with the reason why STG was studying the Yahg. Or at least the classified reason.

Axis (the Yahg) was being studied for a hormonal balance microchip, placed on the brain stem. It is close to what could be considered a "mind control" chip, however instead of controlling the person of interest, it controls their hormonal balance. The Salarians severely cut back on the amount of adrenaline and testosterone running through his system and made him a passive threat in the most. Though he had the capability to attack, he no longer had the basic drive that made him want to attack. It was a project they created in case the Krogan got out of control again, or if another thread (like the Yahg) popped up. Axis was their official guniea pig for the experiment.

The official story of course, (or what could even be considered official, no one but top clearance officers knew about Axis) was that Axis was being used to learn more about the Yahg, but like I said this was far from the truth. Axis did end up escaping from the project however, and even though he destroyed the panel used to supress the hormones, the chip still remains. If you've ever played DA:O, he'd be somewhat like Shale was, previously controlled, now free, but not taking his freedom for granted. He doesn't want to be an aggressive meance because his personality has altered for good, making him scared of what his true capabilities are. He'd probably get a medic or engineer to rebuild the panel, to surpress his rage.

Again, I do have other ideas, but I've had this character for about two years and have only played with him twice, (and once the roleplay barely took off.) It would be awesome if I could play him here. And do have wiggle room for more ideas used to simulate his hormones if you guys can think of anything. It would be an interesting plot twist if maybe one of Nova's enemies got ahold of the panel, and used Axis against his will to attack his team.

While I certainly admire creative ideas such as your poor yahg, I'm going to err on the side of canon caution and say no, for the reasons Tick mentioned. It would also be really hard to take a yahg anywhere since nobody really knows what the hell they are for the most part, and I can't imagine the salarians allowing one to escape. The Shadow Broker was a very special case, and he was surprised and angry Liara knew what the hell he was. If you wouldn't mind, stick with one of the regular pre-ME1 races.

It's not to say we couldn't eventually work something involving STG insanity and maybe even an Axis cameo down the road, but it's rather tricky to justify more than that. I appreciate you checking first! I don't like turning down people's ideas when they're pretty reasonable, but given our timeline and how we're trying to stay fairly true to canon, I don't think that one would work in this game. Sorry!

To be fair, Mass Effect 3 does say it happened.

A salarian research facility on Sur'Kesh captured and experimented on several yahg. The salarians planned to secretly uplift the yahg and use them to further their initiatives with full deniability in a similar manner as the krogan. During a Cerberus assault on the STG base, one yahg breaks out of containment and goes on a rampage, killing several Cerberus soldiers. Its fate is unknown.

Though, looking at it again, the involvement of Cerberus/the way it's read makes it seem like it was during ME3 or slightly before.

Yeah, but that's due to a heavy Cerberus assault during the Reaper invasion, not peace time. :P

Is there anyone I needed to make a reply to in the SB posts(recently or way back)? I vaguely recall a few threads left hanging due to GuildFall, but might not be worth continuing any of 'em at this point.

I see what you did there.
This reminds me when someone said RPG was down in the IRC, and then saved it by adding: "I'm talking about Facebook's stock value."

Also. When was Roland born?

(EDIT) Forgot this originally: Thanks, Vakte, for the answer earlier.

2148.
Funny story with this actually: He's the oldest but not the first human biotic (at least known to us) because of some slight lore oversights. Fun! That is if I've done my math right at least.

EDIT: I shall also get to posting relatively soonish. Roland shall be in the Med Bay contemplating what to do while everyone is away.

Hurrah for poststuff. :]
I've got a start on my side, just need to finsih up things.

Ha, nice.
It's amazing how many times I've gone back and forth from, "This math is right," to "wait, no..." and back again, when it comes to the timeline.
Did you ever decide what month/day he was born in?

I've certainly had to do simple addition and subtraction more than once for my characters in this series. =_=;
And no, no exact date. Why do you ask?

I'm going to apologise as I will be delayed in posting, my computer got a nasty virus and it infected most of my files resulting in a System Restore, but I lost the post I have been working on. Shouldn't be more than a couple of days.

SB post up, since I've got nothing better to do with Kosso right now, and I just had this idea of what Kosso does in his free time.

...You're serious, aren't you? That's just great. Why do we even need SB video feeds when Kosso just includes the audio in his tracks? xD

Also! I tried getting something up, but my computer crashed and Lazarus decided it wanted to go kerput, so I'll try writing again, but it's depressing as hell to see that work go down the drain. :(

If Kasy finds out...

Kosso is so gonna die.

That being said, that was an excellent and very fun read Mosis. As usual, you spoil us xD
