That works for me, although obviously you'll both need to be defeated for our mission to progress :P
You could turn up at the end of the exercise as 'unexpected reinforcements' to add an air of surprise and to test our ability to adapt on the fly... or something. Or come in earlier, as that would mean you can join right in.

Whichever you choose is fine with me. We can hash it out here, as everyone's input would be good.

Who said we'd be winning? It has already been mentioned a number of times that there are a lot of people who love to see us fail. I kind of like the idea of having someone doing some last minutes adjustments to the difficulty level of the excercise as part of some inter political struggle. In the last minute some academy protegé and an experiance gear pilot where added with their military grade GEARs to the bandits :P

I'd rather have our very first operation of any kind be a success, than a miserable failure, thanks. I'm not trying to run a game cast in glorious depress-o-vision. A little dark from time to time, yeah, but not bleak as hell. I honestly don't really find that something I want to come back to after a day at work. This is escapism and fun for me, where I can be a bad-ass mecha-jock hero, righting wrongs and fighting the good fight.
Sorry if that seems a little twee and old-fashioned for anyone, but I quite honestly need something good and positive, rather than bleak and fuck-awful.

Re: this game, I apparently just needed to have a conversation with my good friend Johnnie Walker to make a good post, and now I'm excited about getting into the battle. A bit of the eva soundtrack, and we have an exciting post of battle-planning strategy, complete with music! GO TEAM!

Jeez, Incubus, hard to please much? The first half of the mission you were whining about not being a scout or in close combat, now I've put you in close combat you're whining about not being a sniper. I'll be sure to do that in the next sortie so Mike can then whine about not being artillery or a helicopter or something.
I did look at everyone's GEAR sheets before I planned the op.....

Dang, that Evangelion music is good. I never put much mind to it because I was focusing on understanding the moon-language and looking at dem mecha, but now that I really have a chance to listen to it, it's really good.

It's my go-to strategy session music. The 'making of' version is even better.
I have other tracks in mind for when we get into some truly epic confrontations (if we get that far).

It works. I typically go for a different vibe when in the air tho. Perhaps I'll pull out a soundtrack later today to help that vibe.
