He bluntly said they adapted psionic emps that drained force energy (he thinks it is mental energy, while I think it is soul energy like you do.)

The Force is describes as the energy of all living things. That includes plants, which don't have brains, and thus have nothing to do with psychic energy. While the Force can be used to influence one's mind, and has the characteristics of mental powers, it is not, in fact, psychic energy.

psionic emp. the view on the force there was that it was a mental energy, which in all honesty it can be either a soular or mental energy so when it's between tiny and myself it's mental, similar to the protoss :P

The zerg can't manipulate mental energy due to the fact that it isn't genetic. Mental energy can only be manipulated through high training and knowledge, instead of genetic adaptation, which is why Zerg units aren't psychic. The Protoss are the only beings with the discipline and knowledge to master this, although the Terrans are starting to catch onto it.

The zerg adapt through an advanced form of evolution. They use specialized high-speed breeding to create new strains with different forms and abilities. It can take multiple years for a new strain of zerg to be created.

you're forgetting abathur that can make new strains instantly... i just made every one of my strain capable of doing the same to themselves....

actually, every zerg unit is connected to the hive via a psionic network, allowing them to do things with psionics. they just adapted an organ that constantly sent out a psionic emp, dispelling psionic and mental energies

Just looked him up. He's the evolution master, capable of causing mutations, but incapable of forming new strains instantly.

Zerg are linked through a Hive Mind, which is, in fact, a chemical system, not a psychic system. Much like ants, they communicate through a system of fast-working chemicals. For example, in Starcraft, Raynor is tasked with placing a special beacon in a trapped area that would draw the Zerg through method of 'special Zerg pheromones'.

it's only not instant because he has to think it up and test it repeatedly until he gets it right... the zerg strain i have is capable of doing that at a much sped up rate and then apply it to them selves without killing themselves

while we're on the subject of plot holes in the sc2 universe. if that was so then why did they need kerrigan to be highly psychicly gifted in order to convert her?

Mutations in the DNA only take effect after rebirth, meaning their kids would have it. Furthermore, the mutations are very greatly limited in scale, and require something called Essence. Lastly, each test would require you to spawn a new generation of Zerg, as only then the mutation takes effect.

They didn't. Kerrigan was converted because the Overmind wanted to use the pschic powers Kerrigan possessed as a weapon. It could adapt to the guns and blades, but it wanted to use Kerrigan to develop a way to defeat it's ancient enemy, the Protoss.

then why did she have to forma a psionic link with the zerg in the first HotS mission in order to control it?
