So I have two different ideas that I want to pursue, but I am only going to go with one. So, I'm asking those that find themselves interested to give some critique or w/e, as well as a vote to decide which idea we're going to pursue.

Before I give out the ideas, I want to first explain a few things and rules. I'm starting a new RP because my other RP "The Sinners" is moving at a tremendously slow rate. I asked for a 4-5 day time period between each person's post. I would prefer to go faster myself (2-3 days) but being that this is advance and people have other things to do outside this RP, I give a 4-5 day time period. Several members of my other RP have taken a week plus to write responses, and we're already 4+ weeks in with each person having at best 4, the slower ones only having 2-3 up so far. How does this make me feel? Irritated, I give a very reasonable time period, and people still delay posts. If you can't post every 4-5 days, or approximately 3 times every 2 weeks, don't bother reading any further. I don't have the time or patience to waste, sorry if it seems harsh, just tired of RP's losing steam cause people don't want to give adequate effort into doing it. If you can keep this post schedule up, then continue reading. If you can keep up with this schedule, but occasionally need more time, just let me know before hand and then I'll understand. If it becomes a regular thing, then I'll get angry.

Secondly, I am having at most, a maximum, limit, max quota, (insert other word or phrase for "no more allowed" here) of 4 other RP'ers get involved. I intend to do this based on CS's turned into the OOC once we get past the int check, no first come first served, no calling or reserving spots. Everyone gets a few days after the OOC is up to make a character, after that I close the "application period" and review the CS's. From there I will pick at most 4 CS's. This means that not everyone will be accepted, hell that could mean I only pick 2 CS's if I find the others turned in are lacking. If we get less than 3 accepted, I'll give another few days for people to revise, and then make final decisions.

If you are deterred by the walls of text, here's a tl;dr.
1. If you can't post every 4-5 days, gtfo.
2. At most 4 people are accepted based on CS's and even then it might not be a group of 4 accepted.

If you don't like these basic rules I've established, then you can leave. I understand that it might seem harsh, but I've grown a little annoyed with the recent types of RP'ers I've been getting, so I'm setting up a very, very specific standard for everyone to follow.

Anyways, if you're still reading, then lets get onto the meat of this thread, the ideas.

Idea #1: Final Fantasy Summons
I've always adored the summons of the Final Fantasy Universe. I've found myself playing some of the entries within this series mainly just to see how the sprites or in game models of the summons are designed. I've found that sometimes, the histories of the summons can be even more interesting than some of the characters, lik in FF 10 where the summons are actually the spirits of people sacrificed to fight Sin. Anyways, this idea is actually a "reboot" of an idea I tried previously that flopped. The idea is that the characters we play are actually the human incarnations of the summons from the FF universe. I've yet to develop any real background or story around this concept, but I have worked on some ideas for how this will affect our characters. Of course they won't know they're summons, but after some event that triggers their abilities or knowledge of who they are, they will develop abilities similar to that of the summons they take after. For example, a character playing the incarnation of ifrit would excel at fire magic. At later stages, they would develop the ability to even "morph" into a form or create a weapon of sorts that represents their summon, and then finally actually turn into a full flesh and blood version of their summon. This still needs work as to the plot and setting, but I am in love with this concept and really want to pursue it.

Idea #2: Peace Keepers
So, another idea I have is based on an idea that's been brewing since I even knew what supernatural monsters and beings were. In a modern day, alternate reality, everything is pretty much the same except the fact that supernatural beings (werewolves, vampires, faeries, dragons, etc.) not only exist but are public knowledge, and have been for several decades now. Of course there is a lot of danger in this, especially if these supernatural beings decide to commit crimes. As a response to this, the government created a new government branch designed to handle "Supernatural crimes and terrorists threats." This branch is known as "Peace Keepers" which is made up of a network of intelligence agencies and field agents. The field agents can be anything from Supernatural beings themselves, to mages, too even regular humans with special made weapons or ancient artifacts to combat other supernatural beings. This plot would follow a squad of agents with at least one new blood and then several other agents which we will be playing. I do have a plot for this, but the best way I can describe it is kind of like...Imagine if we had a crew of super powered fighters going up against a secret terrorist organization, almost like the young justice series :)

Anyways, these are my two ideas, so if you're interested in either and/or have questions, post here saying which one you'd prefer to do and whatever questions if you. which ever idea gets 10 votes first, or just more votes after a few days, will be the winner and I'll setup an OOC for that idea.

Hiiii Phantom!

I am super interested in the second option and would love to see that concept developed even further. I don't have any other comments to add in about it except that if you go with it I'd definitely apply hahaha. If you're interested, I'm all for some chatter if you want to bounce off any ideas, esp. for what I've mentioned earlier. (I have zero interest in Final Fantasy tbh, so I won't be tagging along if you decide to go with #1. xD Though the overall concept sounds killer enough, and I'm sure it'd garner a lot of attention.)

Hope this time your upcoming RP will live a long life. :) I can't imagine the amount of patience a GM needs for group RPs.

If you really do get to run the Summon RP idea, I am all for it! :D
Do it, or I will emasculate myself with a skillet!

I enjoy both ideas, but I like the second one better and with Rexcalibur's excellent advice, it makes it even more appealing that s/he will be joining if we go with the second idea. ^.^

I will happily put myself up for either idea. The second idea has slightly more votes, but I know the passion you'd bring to the first one means you, the GM, will enjoy it more.

Peace Keepers gets my vote, and rule one seems reasonable. Rule two, though, seems like it could inadvertently kill your RP preemptively, if you get too many drops.

Been a fan of FF since forever so I'm loving the first idea but I'm loving the second idea more. I already got a character in mind. As much as I love FF, I'd put my vote on the second idea as I think there hasn't been an RP like this for a while now. Rules are reasonable but we're already 6. 7, if you count yourself. Maybe increase the player limit a tad bit more to keep things going? Either way, I'd love to be part of this RP. *subscribes*

=D I'm just happy to see so many people interested in both. Personally I think both are equally awesome but Peace Keepers has a greater story potential imho. Don't worry though I am not competing for a slot. Just gonna stay to read only.

well nice to see this going so well, and let me elaborate a few things.

I've seen a few comments about the number of people for the rp's. I'm saying that I will accept at most 4 other people for either RP idea. I might increase the count for the FF one, but for peace keepers I actually originally imagined there'd only be 2 others besides myself involved, so if we get a full cast, then that means 5 people including myself, so even if we get a drop or two, that will still meet up with the idea that I had originally envisioned and I can still make that work. worst case scenario, if we get more than 2 drops, I can just put up a new int check asking for new RP'ers to join, or contact those that I originally declined, and introduce their characters as new recruits for the second idea.

I personally prefer the second idea myself, mainly because it's just much more "fool-proof" in teh sense that there's a logical way to both drop people (they're either too injured, traumatized or retiring) and also to introduce new ones (as new recruits).

The second choice seems to be gathering the most steam, so I'm glad I have a character in mind for that already.

To answer the concerns put forth by SupahCow090: The point is that Phantom is introducing a selection process. No one who posts here is getting an 'auto-in.' You are confirmed a place based on the strength of the CS you put in: The effort shown, the level of understanding on exhibition and the quality of writing displayed. It is my personal preference for selection process for any GM.

Honestly Phantom is very fair. He will consider the CS-es carefully and will let you know what you can do to improve it. =D

Still I was very nervous when I submitted my CS for his previous RP. <.< That suspense...

Just my two cents worth out of boredom.

Now that I've thought of it, you have a point. It's just that this might be, if ever I get in, the fewest members in an RP I have ever joined.

Does that mean the second RP's happening? Or are you gonna wait for more opinions? I don't know why, but I'm super psyched to start this RP, in it or not.

You should be Supah! =P Phantom has really elaborate worlds created. And if Rex and Panda are in you have quite a fun filled combination. ..

It's like a 90% likely hood that the second idea is what we're going to be running. Gonna wait until later tonight and gauge the votes one more time then we're decided.

I do propose one thing though for the second idea ... that we have some racial foundations. Like, we all know Elves are going to be there, but not to like make a 1,000 different subspecies. There's always ways to add powers and magic to a character without using their race. ^.^

My idea for the Elves is that they are well, basically High Elves from Tolkien. They aren't necessarily all wizards like in Dungeons and Dragons, but they are expert Marksmen, craftsmen with awesome reflexes and dexterity with enhanced senses.
