Vermilion is a massive sword that reflects the heart of its wielder, amplifying their emotions and channelling them through the weapon to alter its parameters. Out of the two most notable traits possessed by this sword, the most frightening to behold is the way that it seems almost weightless in its wielder's hands. Over time, Mavis has become numb to the pain in her own heart, the normally unbearable weight of her emotions seem like a natural thing to carry, while in actuality her sword has become heavy enough to crush a man's back simply by carrying it. The second of her weapon's two notable abilities is to strengthen and channel Mavis's emotions, by grasping the blade in her hands she begins to radiate her emotions to be felt by those around her, creating a powerful aura of sorts that shows her intent. The weapon's killing power is quite high, but its true potential lies in its wielder, the more suffering she goes through, the more Vermilion thirsts for more, and the more its strength increases. It should be noted that Mavis herself doesn't perceive her weapon's absurd corruption, although it's unclear whether this is due to ignorance or if it is a trait of the weapon.

Personality: Only by seeing her blade can an individual truly understand how far Mavis has fallen, hunted endlessly by the seething vengeance of her dead love, driven forward only by a revenge she could never hope to enact on her own. She is the type to run away from her problems, she fears pain and suffering above all else, but goes out of her way to seek emotional warmth in others. She fiercely protects those she cares about, almost obsessively hunting down and eliminating their enemies unless held back. When no traces of her boundless rage are to be found, she's a surprisingly pleasant, although quite broken, girl. Hates demons to a furious extent and possesses a very destructive sense of justice, even more so than many others in the War branch.
