The Beginning


There have always been the monsters. Always. Remember when you were but a child, still naive and innocent? Innocent to the fears of men, like war, poverty, and loss? Innocent to the fear of death? But you did have fear, every child does. The monsters in the dark. Maybe they were in the closet, maybe they were in the hallway, or under the bed. But you were afraid. You feared them like death before that concept was known to you, and as a whole we outgrow that fear to be replaced by more realistic fears that pounce upon us from day to day. But you weren't nearly as naive as you thought you were. You knew. It is ourselves that have forgotten, buried that fear, put it out of our minds for the sake of our sanities. But the monsters have always been there. They still exist in the darkest voids of the Earth, where they hide in waiting for perfect moment when its innocent prey shuts their eyes and covers their heads with the sheets. And that fear still dwells deep within us all. Always.

The Bureau of Paranormal Activity (BPA) was founded in the early 50's as a reaction to the unknown. Dark experiments in Russia. Downed spacecraft in New Mexico. The Bermuda Triangle. The curse of the crystal skull. The biggest crime was that nothing was being done to understand them, let alone counteract them. Originally functioning under United States jurisdiction, the BPA was picked up by the United Nations as a sign of goodwill towards all nations against uncommon and unknown threats. Of course there were benefits with the transfer, those benefits being wider area of operations, better funding, more resources to pull from, and most important of all, less legal interference. This was bigger than all of us, bigger than the U.S., bigger than world peace, Hell, bigger than the universe at large. And only a few, important men and the agents under their charge could ever understand that. The BPA often went outside the law for a mission above and beyond the lives of mortal men for the good of us all. We wouldn't be here today if it weren't for all of the rules they've bent, the rights they've violated... even the lives they've ruined. But no one could see that! All this talk of, Freedom of Information and human rights, like anyone would have any of those things without the BPA. If you're gonna make an omelette, you've gotta break a few eggs, and some of those eggs were international policy. But we realized how big we had become and the weight we've been saddled with. So in late 60's the BPA became the PCMC, the Paranatural Countermeasures Conglomerate. Bigger than any government and with hands in every pie, the PCMC doesn't show up on paper, isn't spoken of even in whisper. But the world belongs to us to keep us safe. Big Brother might be watching, but these God damned fools don't know what he's keeping his eyes out for. It's not your damn phone calls to Grandma, or the meth you cook in your basement, or even the fucking bio-weapons in North Korea. We've got bigger fish to fry here, ladies and gentlemen. Life we as we know it is on the line.

The Mission


As an agent of the Paranatural Countermeasures Conglomerate, your mission is simple: Keep everyone alive and living on Earth as the dominant species as long as you can. Slice of fried bundt cake, right? If only it was that easy. At any given moment there are no less than four entities outside of human control threatening life on this round, blue planet and it's gonna be your job to find and neutralize that threat. Not including the ones within our grasp that we have to stop from doing the same thing. Monsters, aliens, devils, ancient gods, urban legends, and God knows what else are all trying to keep you from doing your job, and even information about any of these freaks of nature could end the game for good. That's where we get crafty. The standard definition, or as I like to call the boring, lawyer's contract of what we do is... lemme get it out... "The mission of the Paranatural Countermeasures Conglomerate is to defend mankind against foreign, unknown, and misunderstood threats through surveillance, identification, fast response, control, containment, elimination, and management of information to include any feasible method in any region internationally,"... So there ya go. You're supposed to do that.

The Methods


Now it says you are to use "any method feasible", and what that translates to me, the PCMC, and I'm sure all the world leaders, that when faced with a reality-ending threat that any method is "feasible". I won't lie to you, you won't like everything you do here. Like I said, you've got to crack a few eggs to make an omelette and I damn well meant it. There will be times when you'll have to kill innocent tax-paying civilians with wives and children if they so much as suspect that you're not who you say you are, and that's not even the worst of it. A lot of men would crack under the pressure in the first week, but I know you're made of tougher stuff. That's what the psychologists, therapists, and guaranteed two months vacation yearly are for, right? I don't know how they did things at your last job, but your are not to cooperate with local law enforcement. Local law enforcement is to cooperate with you. Using any means necessary. Is that clear? Your mission is much more important than the lives of a single person, or family, or city or even a fucking country for that matter! So we, the PCMC, finally catch a break in that we don't have to play ball by anyone's rules but our own. You'll be given access to technology only fantasized of in children's comic books or written about by Isaac Asimov in accomplishing this... Sisyphean task. What we need is able-bodied and able-minded men and women to do what is able to be done about threats that would make World War III look like a schoolyard rumble. Not what's legal, not what's right, what is able to be done. By "any method feasible". Do we understand now, ladies and gentlemen?

Rules

1. Make sure you read and understand the character sheet before making a character. If you mess up and it's obvious you just cut and pasted the format without reading, my reactions will vary depending on how much you blatantly ignored me. On that note, don't add anything else to the character sheet, either, unless you have expressed permission. They're left that general for a reason, trust me. Try to really think about your character, too. Make them interesting, like a real person worth reading about, not just a tool for you to interact with the world.
2. All general and typical rules of the Guild apply, like they always do. No surprise there. The theme is mature in nature, so be prepared for that. Sexual content is not okay past daytime network television standards within the IC, but you're not prevented from doing so. Just go to PM and write a recap post in the IC.
3. I'll give players a huge amount of freedom, but if I say something isn't okay, it's TOTALLY NOT OKAY. If you try to argue a point with the GM on baseless grounds (I REALLY want a machine gun arm, Corporal Lance!), I'll just tell you to leave.
4. If you don't know, ask. I'm trying to keep this one open and general to allow for a lot of development, but if that's too vague I'm always happy to answer questions.
5. It goes without saying, but grammar should be acceptable, and I'm looking for about 3 decent paragraphs per post... which will obviously be based upon the situation, some less, some more. No shit, I had a guy use "lol" in all seriousness within IC character dialogue when he meant for his character to laugh. Don't be that guy. Don't EVER be that guy.
6. I'll be patient about people not being able to post for a bit, but there are limits. If it looks like the thread is dying and the culprit is obvious, we'll move on. I'll be a little more forgiving if you happen to warn me in advance instead of disappearing.
7. On that note, realize that I myself won't be here all the time. I tend to check back every two days and am able to post about almost that often. If I disappear and you still want to play, don't just sit on your hands and hope people return. Give me a PM. If it's someone else and you don't want to seem rude, PM me instead and I'll deal with it.
8. If you break any of the rules, you're out. Plain and simple. That's why they're the rules. Except rule #1. Mess up the character sheet and I'll just ignore you until you fix it. If you make a small mistake or I need you to change something, no big deal, no harm no foul... but if you do what I expect at least 1 player per RP to do (we all know who That Guy is when we see him) and completely ignore my character sheet and thus the rules, I'll ignore you too. Fair's fair.
9. Have some input, please. If you're not having fun or don't like how the tone has changed, please let me know so I can do something about it. I'm very open to new ideas and wouldn't mind incorporating some if you had any. An active OOC is the key to a thriving RP.

Players will be given situation and mission updates via PM. Even when gathered together for briefing, private dossiers will be given away individually. These may be the same or they may differ in some way. In addition, characters may receive private communications over inset radios built into the ear canals of agents, which may be public in nature such as an HQ wide alert or more personal such as instruction to meet with their block manager or director. These will generally cover the missions that players are about to embark on.

Players will also have a title to their posts so that it's easy to keep track of where they are and what they're doing. This can be the location or mission name or both, but it should be made obvious that John's back at base doing his taxes and Mary's in the Arctic Circle shooting werewolves in the face. They'll look like this:

Mary cursed to herself loudly as she dropped her magazine in the snow, frantically fishing for another as the werebeasts bore down on the PCMC tactical team.


Players must wait until all players have posted or expressed their intent to skip for the moment before they can post again. For this reason, I highly suggest the usage of tools such as PiratePad or TitanPad to synchronize conversations. If too much time has gone by to where it is apparent that we're all waiting for a singular or possibly couple of players, I'll give a time warning in the OOC. Once time is up, those players will be skipped or removed from the situation. Keep in mind that I will never kill a player under any circumstances for being absent, but they may be put into some compromising positions or miss out on missions if they're gone for too long. If I say it's cool to post again in the OOC, then players can post again regardless.

This list will keep track of all accepted players, who their characters are both name-wise and description wise, and what they happen to be doing at the current moment. The order isn't special in anyway, and goes by when the character sheets have appeared in the OOC. Character names will be their Assigned Names.

Allister is a borderline sociopath. He is a former nazi scientist and war criminal who escaped Nuremberg in the same program that naturalized Werner Von Braun, and Josef Mengele. A bit of a coward, Deidrich has a tendency to want to weasel himself into positions of secondary power.

Despite all this, he is committed to Earth, as a whole, and committed, above all else, to the Hippocratic Oath (twisted though his vision of it may be.) The Dr. Is morally well-suited to his position, having twisted but justifiable morals, and being no stranger to egregious acts in pursuit of those goals.

Medical History)
Served as his own test subject in a nazi supersoldier experiment.

The original primitive inspiration of the project was his own aggressive mapping of his unique personal genome. He thought he'd figured out how to turn people into supersoldiers. It was 1934 and he was even further on the cutting edge than he'd realized. He'd figured out how to do this to himself, without realizing it was a unique process to each subject. The project was in danger of being shut down after many gruesome and preventable deaths with naught to show for it. Convinced his calculations weren't wrong, he injected himself.

The result? Accelerated healing and all that it implies. Extended lifespan, Increased anabolic, aerobic, and anaerobic endurance. Increased strength, as workouts are far more effective (if physical exercise were more of a priority for Dr. Allister , this effect might have been far more pronounced.) Were this process to be replicated it would necessitate a complete genetic map of the individual in question, and an extraordinary amount of computation. Perhaps with the aid of a highly skilled programmer, this process MIGHT be feasible on any kind industrial level, but the Doctor has long since moved on to the other pursuits.

Dr. Allister has an irrational disregard for cybernetics, seeing genetic modification as a sort of macguffin for all human ills.

Technical Proficiency)
Dr. Deidrich Allister is, without much argument, one of the most brilliant medical minds on the planet. As a consultant for the CDC, he performed the very first extraterrestrial autopsy. He has likely contributed as much to modern genetics as Monsanto or Mengels. He is virtually without peer in his chosen field.. Additionally, an expert at General Practice and First Aid.

History With the Organization)
This man is one of the world's premiere extraterrestrial biologists. Brought on as a "consultant" with both the CIA and CDC in the late 40's, he quickly became the go-to-guy for accurate theories on alien anatomy.

A near founding member, yes, but a socially and morally backwards nerd, nonetheless. Deidrich has always been distant and detached. His enhanced lifespan has only exacerbated this. Caught up in his chosen life as a researcher, he knows less about what's really going on than some rookies.

I wonder if this isn't quite right, power-level or story-wise, but I think its a solid starting concept. Feel free to criticize and instruct redrafts at will. I'm pretty confident I've been deliberately vague enough to adapt to whatever power balance we end up with.

Also, for the record, I'm an RPer, not a neo-nazi. Heroes with questionable motives are interesting to me. I kind of hate this guy, too, but I still want him to be my char, if I can.

Physical Description
"Rome" - Standing at about 5' 11" 198lbs with dark brown hair and Blue eyes. Well built and lean thanks to his high metabolism featuring a tattoo of an "Anarchy" symbol on his left arm. If you look closely you can see what looks like steam constantly coming off his skin thanks to Rin-aziel. Youll often see him with a cigarette in his mouth to hide this trait. His natural bodyheat is also abnormally high (about 110°f) and you can start to see gray strands of hair on his head.

"Rin-aziel" - She can pretty much take any form she wants. Her very essence resembles that of a plume of smoke. Her physical manifestation of a body is usually that of a female figure. Pulling whatever pictures of women Rome has in his head or on those magazines he reads occasionally. She has no physical surface tension and very cool to the touch. If you touch her, that part will swirl and fade away like pushing through a cloud of smoke.

Personality
"Roman" - Stubborn, sarcastic, and an asshole would be some things a person would call him if they just met him, but if the stopped for a second and payed attention.... he's still a stubborn, sarcastic asshole. Often making jokes at the absolutely worst time and slacking off whenever he gets the chance, but deep down he is kind hearted and would quickly step in front of a bullet for someone he just met (and likes). He has a deep appreaciation for old things like cars, guns, art, music and traditions. He respects other peoples religions and points of views but will not let them convince him it is the "only" way. He always looks for the option everyone else looks over. Searching for that coinflip that lands on its rim.

"Rin-aziel" - Like many old people she is a very patient... umm thing. Being around has given her the patience of a saint, just don't call her one if you value your bodily functions. That being said, she also tends to let her emotions take over when she wishes. Calling it "theraputic" when she lashes out often resulting in something dead, tortured, or gone mentally insane. A vast fondness for all things modern. Ranging from the tech, to the foods (even though she cannot eat) and even the music. ESPECIALLY the music. One of the only things she is grateful for humans to have invented. Often open minded but when it comes to personal safety, survival is priority.

Powers
Powers-
Roman and Rin are symbiotically tethered to eachother. Whatever Rome feels, so does Rin and vice versa. They can suppress eachothers thoughts and emotions easily unless under stress. Then they often share a clusterfuck of mixed feelings and thoughts which usually combine into something... dangerous. Rome technically has no powers except for the sole ability to accept Rin-aziel in his body and not die from mental breakdown and prolonged exposure to Rin. Rin is technically a smoke based parasite (or demonic being) sharing Romans lifeforce (or soul) to survive. Rin can actively release herself from Roman whenever she feels like but prolonged seperation can cause Roman to feel side effects, almost like withdrawls that of a powerfully addictive drug. Making Roman's body feel as if on a permanent adrenaline rush. He can stay focused longer and even "forget" pain momentarily when they are together.

Rin on the other hand can freely move to another host but "normal" hosts tend to wither and die within a couple hours. The severe mental stress of her taking over the body results in madness or dementia in which Rin has no choice but to take full control of her hosts body and thus, killing them. Roman on the other hand has been with her for over 3 years. During their inital meeting, Rin had tried a full takeover of Roman numerous times, but his mental stability and will is just too strong.

Technical Proficiency:

Position Within The Military
Roman was one of the few that could call themselves Spetsnaz after he joined the Soviet millitary at age 17 (forged papers) he was labeled one of the prestigious few to wear the black balaclava. That was until he met Rin. After the "Incident" he needed to leave the country.

Skills-
Roman is an ex-Spetsnaz soldier born to fight and kill. He has extensive weapons training and superior CQC training. Thanks to Rin he also has a strong mental focus that of which one would feel under extreme duress and filled with adrenaline. Often seeing things as if slower than normal. Ten seconds seem to last a minute and combat is instinctual, like breathing or blinking.

Rin-aziel is old and knowledgeable of many things unknown to the current world. Speaking in many tongues as if they were all fluent to her. (Exe tongues of fire that Jesus' disciples were given) physically pulling the fresh memories of her other "hosts" left her very knowledgeable of mundane things. Remembering passcodes or specific numerical algorythms or manipulation and torture of her victims until she gets what she wants.

Talents-
Roman has an affinity for older things and often fills his head with knowledge of older cars, guns, etc. He can tell you the year it was probabbly from and how to use it, just don't ask him to take it apart and put it back together. The only thing he could do that with is his trusty Ak74 and pistol.

Rin-aziel has an uncanny ability with numbers and can remember anything you tell her. A photographic memory of sorts.

History With the PCMC: After the "Incident" both subjects were restrained in temporary holding room 422-13c with airtight countermeasures. One of our agents presented subjects with the official PCMC contract in which would allow prohibited freedom under the para-allied alleagience act code:42-18 paragraph 3. After fourteen days of retention, subjects agreed and signed under certain conditions.

Update: Subjects have now been allied with PCMC for exactly three years to this date. Further expansion of prohibitations have been granted.

Eddy is around 1,80cm tall with a slim but trained build. He seems to be the typical over aged mobster or hooligan on the first glance. Despise that he does pack a more serious punch than he looks like. Thanks to a thicker skeleton Eddy weights over 200pounds and so each punch comes with greater force.
That aside Eddy has an original English tan, meaning he is close to chalk like white, during the years it changed to a more "greyish" tone.
Despise his age Eddy is a very fit person unless you want him to run for miles, his lungs which are attacked by continuous smoking might not handle it.
Last but not least Eddy is a very unshaved person, it is rare that someone sees him without at least a 3 days beard, it might appear twice or trice a year.

[b]Psychological Profile: Although a compassionate humanist who struggles to overcome the influence of both Heaven and Hell over humanity and despite his occasional forays into heroism, Eddy is a foul-mouthed, disillusioned, British cynic who pursues a life of sorcery and danger. His motivation has been attributed to an adrenaline addiction that only the strange and mysterious can sate. This adrenaline addiction might come from the excessive use of magic and is just a manifestation of the lack of the high euphoric feeling one gets while using magic. This stated he does seem more aggressive than other magicians but he is less likely to fall into the corruption of it.

Eddy also is shown to be someone with a wide and international circle of contacts and allies, and is adept at making friends. He has had many girlfriends as well, and one story mentions past boyfriends too. The rather often changing girl friends are a sign of trust issues which are also stated during missions, he is more the lone wolf and does hard in taking orders but never the less if the situation isn´t allowing it otherwise he is even willingly to work with that.

Although being a powerful sorcerer, Eddy rarely uses magic, instead choosing to use his wits to trick his opponents. He is also referred to as "The Constant One" because of his whole family tree being somewhat connected to the occult. Many of his ancestors are sorcerers from different eras of history, and somewhat has taken part in many known historical events, it is even stated that the famous Rasputin is a direct ancestor of him.

Medical History:[b] Despise often saying that he´s all "natural", Eddy had undergone several surgeries.

1) Plastic surgeries: Over the time Eddy already had several plastic surgeries. It seems he has problems facing his own problems and so flees into other"hides" by completely changing his appearance, once even a surgery with skin transplantation has been made and so Eddy was black....he endured this for a month. All in all he already he had over 13 plastic surgeries.

2) Enchanted Reflexes: To enchant his reflex a complex surgery on his spinal cord has been made, an transfer liquid was added to it which is sending the electrical signals faster through the body, thanks to that the reflexes of Eddy are highly increased from 0,5 secs up to 0,2 secs. This also allows pain to travel faster through his body so it has his pro´s and con´s.

3) Enchanted Skeleton: An new tried chemical was tested on Eddy to actually strengthen the bones, it was originally designed to heal "glass bones" but it also found success in such parts since this is highly reducing the danger of broken bones, this surgery has been some years and so Eddy has already grown accustomed to the new gained weight. Furthermore this also gives him proud 200pounds by just 1,80cm.

To mention is that Eddy is a heavy chain smoker~ It went so far that lung cancer is end stadium was stated untill he "weirdly" was healed from it. We suspect the use of magic here, it was shortly before the time we manage to get him into PCMC.

It is also stated that Eddy had two near death experiences. With the age of of twelve he seemed to have several mental issues and was treated in an asylum, shortly after he was released, he tried to slit open his arms, the ambulance was quick enough to save him.
Furthermore he also was carried to the hospital when he "lost" his cancer, his arms slit again! The scars are not hidden by the plastic surgery, he certainly refused to that.

[b]Technical Proficiency: Eddy rarely uses magical spells, unless he has to, especially in combat. Eddy faces most of his challenges relying primarily on his cunning, quick-thinking during fights, vast knowledge of the occult, manipulation of opponents and allies, and an extensive list of contacts.

As a sorcerer, Eddy is armed with the knowledge of many magical spells, rituals, and curses, such as evocation, necromancy, illusions, invisibility, and can even use magic to control the elements. He also has a wide range of protection magic such as sigils and magic circles that can protect him from both physical and supernatural attacks. Eddy is also highly resistant to many psychic attacks such as telepathy, possessions, and mind control. He can even use magic to block off omnipresence, seen where he once used sigils to hide himself from another sorcerer who were told to see everything.

Aside from sorcery, Eddy has also exhibited considerable mastery in "stage magic skills"—hypnosis, sleight of hand, pick pocketing, and escapology. Eddy also carries with him arsenal of powerful magical artifacts to aid him in battle, he has occasionally won fights, either by using magical weapons, by fighting dirty, or by quick-thinking. He often refers that bending the realms of reality is cheating itself so why not making it even and fighting back dirty!

History With the PCMC: Eddy has been in the PCMC for now 5 whole years, he has worked himself up to a competent officer against paranormal activities as long as they concern magic, occult or demonology. He has already solves some cases single handedly and so built of a rather good reputation which is standing in a hight contrast to his his rather "wild" behavior and look.
He does take his job serious and would not joke about it even if seeming so.

Either way Eddy did work on the Blair Witch case in which a an occult being a so called "witch", or simply a by magic corrupted human, abducted and sacrificed human in the woods of America to feed her spells with bloods to later open a portal where she was about to adapt demonic energies which she then could use to boost her strength and power. Eddy felt the strange energy and used simple stage magic to trick the witch to step into her own trapping circle, we could then easily retrieve the witch and took take of her.

Another case he built his reputation up with was the "Haunted" Amityville house. This normally belived to be urban legend was, so we found out, a loop in the realms. Another existence over lapped with ours there and so the people there naturally lost some screws. The quick changing overlapping energy signatures are highly simulating the anger system of normal humans. Constantine investigated it and found the loop, without thinking of himself he went through it and shut the loop from inside before returning through the astral plane, his body was highly damage during that and his mental state also isn´t fully recovered yet.

Prior History: Eddy was born in Liverpool, England on June 03, 1970. His mother, Mary Anne, died giving birth to Eddy and his stillborn twin brother because an earlier abortion—forced on her by his father, Thomas—had weakened her womb. Because he was unable to accept responsibility for his wife's death, Thomas blamed Eddy and the pair grew up with a deep dislike for one another. Whilst in the womb, John strangled his twin brother with his own umbilical cord.

In their childhood, Eddy and his older cousin Cheryl lived briefly with their aunt and uncle in Northampton to escape from their father's alcoholism and subsequent imprisonment for stealing a female neighbour's underwear. They moved back to Liverpool when their father was released. Eddy's bloodline and ancestry were known to his aunt but unknown to his father which quickly changed.

One of Eddy's first acts of magic, as a child, was to hide all of his childhood innocence and vulnerability in a box to rid himself of it. Later, in the 1984s, a teenage Eddy ran away from home, but not before a botched curse caused his father to become withered and frail. Eddy eventually made his permanent home in London.

During the 1990s, Eddy became involved in occult circles in London. He traveled other countries and visited San Francisco there he also performed as a famous stage magician and got involved in a rather obscure crime where he found the culprit by "predicting", rather he already knew who it was and witnessed it.

On tour with a band called Mucous Membrane at the Casa Nova Club in Newcastle, he found the aftermath of a magical orgy gone horribly wrong: an abused child, Astra, had conjured a hideous monster that took revenge on the adults who were tormenting her, and the monster refused to leave. With typical recklessness, Eddy convinced some members of the band, along with several occultist friends, to try destroying the creature by summoning a demon of their own. Unfortunately, this demon was not under their control and after it had destroyed the child's monster, it tormented his friends and took the child to Hell. Eddy suffered a nervous breakdown after this incident, and was committed to Ravenscar Psychiatric Hospital, which he drifted in and out of over the years.

As soon as Eddyn was freed he started to smoke heavily, at least two packages a day and drifted into heavy excesses. His reputation of "predicting" a complicated murder case years ago followed him and he was hired as a "occult detective", meaning he was used to predict culprits of unsolved cases.
While he did had success with that, not every case was solved by his witness some had indeed help by some or other magic. He earned quiet some dollars in which he also quickly spent on drugs, whores and mostly cigarettes! After many years of hedonism and work Eddy went back to London. There something strange occurred. His father who Eddy cursed found out about his heritage and always kept an eye on Eddy, the former dislike changed to hate and so the old man got corrupted and decided to kill his own son. He sacrificed nearly all his life energy to set several traps for Eddy. Eddy barely survived his short visit in London and in the end he had to made a pact with someone certain to stay alive, he tricked the soul of his poor father for his own.
This was shortly before the PCMC decided to take Eddy.

Prior History: Eleanor was a military veteran, serving for 15 years. She was 100% dedicated to her work and was quickly reaching higher ranks between her first 6 years. She also trained to be in the medical team, not only her medical help but her presence gave extra confidence to the soldiers on patrol, and enabled them to react quickly and correctly to situations, meaning they were better equipped to look after each other and save lives.

As a small side note, she has a fear of needles.

Medication: Formerly Ms. McGregor took multiple prescribed medicines, until she made the decision to stop at the age of twenty, at which point she got her medical marijuana certification, it is currently her only form of medication.

Technical Proficiency: Aside from her obvious role as a psychic, Ms. McGregor serves as a recon specialist in the field. Her small frame, and impressive gymnastic ability allow her to get places that other agents just can't. Thus allowing her to see things they can't. Her combat skills, while unimpressive by our standards, are passable for most situations.

History with the PCMC: Ms. McGregor transferred to the PCMC at the age of twenty-four from the CIA when they discovered her abilities. Despite her CIA training she was rough around the edges, showing disrespect for her commanding officers, as well as contempt for some of the organization's more menial rules, like no smoking in the cafeteria. At the time, her status as a member of the PCMC was seeming very much like it would be ending quickly until she proved instrumental in saving a small African village by predicting it being attacked by vampires. Since then she proven her value, predicting more than ten more attacks of varying natures, as well as saving multiple agents in the field by seeing their potential demise.

Aside from that however, Ms. McGregor has no real feats of combat that are noteworthy, though teams she is on have one of the lowest casualty rates. She has also become notorious for ripping off new recruits with odd bets about the future before can they learn she is a psychic.

Prior History: A straight-A student, as well as Olympic level gymnast, she was a CIA prospect since high school. Right up until she shockingly dropped out during her senior year, throwing away a scholarship, and likely a chance at being an Olympic athlete in favor of staying at home and taking care of her at the time sick father. Luckily the CIA doesn't usually let easily manipulated kids like that get away. She was recruited with the promise of money and healthcare for her father fairly easily. She spent the following couple years going through their usual agent training. During which she was reprimanded for a multitude of offenses, such as underage drinking(while she was supposed to be working), bragging about her position to civilians, multiple cases of vandalism, and my favorite, stealing a water cooler. This is why not to recruit teenage girls into a secretive government organization.

Apparently though aside from that her actually training went quite well, and by the age of twenty-one she was cleared for field work. She was given fluff jobs mostly, typically just intelligence gathering, no real dangerous missions. Thus is how it went for her for the next few years, apparently using her gift to aid her when it was able. That was right up until she apparently foresaw a double-agent going on a killing spree. According to eyewitness statements, she had the agent at gunpoint and executed him just as he drew his weapon. After this she had a slight mental break, she didn't talk to others for weeks, and even after that deflected any questions about how she knew of his treachery for months until she finally admitted to her vision. It was then she was sent to us to confirm her ability, and she has been with us ever since.

A very deliberate man, in his movements, Sybil is a stark 6'3", physically in-shape and well-built ectomorph that weighs in at about 178 lbs. With generally sharp features and an elongated face, Sybil denotes an air of stoicism and general seriousness in his expressions, which range from a mild-intensity to sordidness directed at others. He speaks in a low timber that is concise and strictly formal in whatever dialect or language he chooses to use. Blue eyes tell more of a cautious man than that of the intensity that usually surrounds him, with a hairstyle kept within the parameters of a tame individual.

Psychological Profile:

A generally quiet individual, Sybil never speaks unless it becomes an absolute necessity and is prone to avoiding general socialization unless it pertains to mission parameters. Around others, he is not afraid to assert dominance through direct body language, but often yields in respect to higher authority. Through further observation, many of Sybil's actions denote a sense of genuineness and honesty that isn't usually associated to many individuals; often times, he is wracked with frustration when cornered into a situation that requires the knowledge of more than one person. He does not show signs of a sociopath or antisocial, in spite of his blatant avoidance of most individuals and contempt in his interactions. There is a slight air of overconfidence, in that he often underestimates the prowess of "allies" and overestimates his own skill set. Technical Proficiency:

Previous work in MI6, with a propensity for investigative skills and covert operations, as well as previous experience in forensics. Is strategically proficient and is specifically conditioned for work in the field, either under guise or in the midst of a full-on firefight. Already has an eidetic memory, in spite of previous surgery, and a keen eye despite the previous need for glasses/contacts; it just meant he had to work a lot harder than other agents and its been proven many times that he is, indeed, one of the best MI6 had seen in a long time.

History With the PCMC:

An agent of PCMC for approximately 7 years, all of which he's had quite the ride.

Serving as a regular field agent, just out of necessity for action, Sybil, or Sean, has been a part of various missions, ranging from harmless (in comparison to others) to apocalyptic. All of which were handled with the amazing efficiency that Sybil is well known for. He's had more living experience dealing with danger than even the most reckless of people and he's not even prone to being reckless, anymore.

Among the most prominent of missions Sybil has been a part of, of which he's been the reason for success, are those that required more investigative talents and an analytic mind—also a deeply concentrated and calm mind. One of these was the tracking of a large pack of 'Jersey Devils' that were running rampant through uptown Detroit. A naturally elusive species, Sybil was among the few in his team able to actually tag one and track it down to its 'nest' before eradicating them. This was among the smaller, more harmless tasks.

The biggest, of which was the spreading of a very occult and dangerous playbill which multiplied and was subsequently sent through chain letter format. Though, it didn't have some ominous message, making it seem totally harmless. The only reason anyone of importance stumbled upon it was due to illegal connections with a family member, who occasionally called at work. The man was suspended, but also given (posthumous) credit for discovering the mysterious invitation—sent to him a day later. The man was seen acting unusual the following morning and was proceeding to hand out fliers and playbills out of thin air. Upon further analysis, in which Sybil worked with the scientific team, eldritch emissions were found practically radiating from the people who came into direct contact with it, as well as the invitations. Many of the people where detained, with a few let loose in order to track down the source.

Sybil, as a one man team, was tasked with infiltrating the premises of the play in order to discover the sinister being behind all of this. And that he did. Joining the source of the sudden oddness in the office, whom was compromised due to direct contact with the invitation, they both found the cause of the occurrence: a large, out in the open opera house just outside of Kiev, Ukraine. The house had only one entrance with a shady usher retrieving tickets from various people already piled in a large group around him. When the man got to Sybil, he simply smiled and admitted him with a grand wave of his hand and a somber, "Enjoy the show." After everyone entered, the door was sealed tight and the usher promptly committed suicide.

It began like any other, with a prelude that hinted at the tone of the show: a jumbled mess of notes that somehow made sense in all its madness. The curtains opened to reveal a lone figure in a chair with a simple mask covering his or her or its face, caped in nothing but a long, yellow robe. The play went on, a whimsical bout of a plot that made sense, but also didn't. He was perplexed, but unaffected as he looked onto the crowd—he'd not actually touched the invitation, as they all had. They seemed enthralled, but there was absolutely no sign that this wasn't anything but an odd indie-play by an equally odd playwright. As the intermission cut into the story, Sybil made his way to the back of the stage, examining every bit of the people and the area that he could. Nothing was out of place or abnormal, minus the plot. Though, he did find it oddly haunting that wherever he turned people were staring at him and him alone, some asking if he was enjoying the show, to which he curtly nodded. He'd continued setting up around the area, just as a precaution and further studied the surrounding people with the equipment he'd brought. Dimensional radiation was practically oozing off of everyone in torrents. But, he'd not have enough time to further study that. Just before the curtains rose, he'd set up a perimeter around key points in the building and a viable escape route that he'd determined that he would definitely need.

And then the second half began. It began like it did prior and didn't seem odd enough to warrant any concern, until he turned to watch the audience. The man beside him, the agent who had been compromised, was smiling widely and continued to do so until he noticed Sybil's staring and faced him. Sybil could only arch a brow, but his eyes were brought down as an incessant squishing was beginning to grow louder. The man was visibly digging into his knee, grabbing his flesh in handfuls. He turned to notice that everyone was currently staring at him, humming something incoherent as they tore at their flesh. The music that came from the band's pit in front of the stage grew audibly louder as they continued mutilating themselves, now crying out something in a tongue he couldn't recognize. People were practically destroying themselves, thrown in pieces on top of every stretch of visible surface until it all abruptly stopped, the music, the moaning and crying, and the self-mutilation that Sybil was frantically pulling himself away from. There was no trace of any of it ever happening; Sybil was engulfed in darkness. He'd activated the containment procedure out of previous necessity, though now he was ashamed to say it was panic that caused the premature activation.

The lights turned on to reveal the same man in the chair who'd been in the same spot the entire play, from Act 1 to Act 2. And then the spotlight grew and more people surrounded him, adorning the same mask over their otherwise now whole bodies. Behind them all was a gaping hole of nothing, only visible because the more you stared the more you realized that you were looking into an abyss—a darkness not many could comprehend, much less describe. And a figure, clad in a yellow robe with a stave longer than his body and a mask as pale as the dead of winter stood before them all, giant in his majesty. It was almost as if he could feel the being smiling, staring holes into his very soul.

The group below were chanting now, a name on repeat: Hastur. And suddenly the crowd grew, more and more, until people, ordinary people, were clawing at the stage, falling into the pit, and finally reaching out to Sybil. He waited until everything was properly ready to run before he detonated the door, ran out over the pile of people that clawed him and grappled him to the ground, in a rush to escape the hole that would erase this small section of land from existence. The interior began to crumble, straining under its weight; the sound of people crying only drove him further to survival. The Opera House burst outward, engulfing a 50 meter radius around it before imploding into a singularity, fully sealing the dimensional rift in a contained environment, as well as the entirety of the people that churned out of the backstage. It left Sybil panting just meters away from the blast radius, staring into the open crater and the one sign that anything had ever threatened the existence of man: a lone playbill.

The only apocalyptic event in which he did it with minimal help and one that proved to test his every ability to its boiling point. He was subsequently given his two months vacation after collapsing into one of PCMC's infirmaries. But not after he'd gathered the lone playbill that was left on site, supposedly the only way to contain this would be to lock the thing up for eternity. Of course, that was after he'd studied the thing intensively and read up on a few Lovecraft stories, at that.

Prior History:

The cream of the crop all have to start somewhere.

Sybil started in a small town just outside of London, where he served as the child of a barkeep and his wife. This section of his life is quite unimportant and has usually been passed over by various officials who wish to hire him for his services. However, Sybil did run into various sections of his life which are either a nasty spot or a glowing review, among many are just simple mercenary jobs and one terrorist group, as well as a year or two in college for a degree in biology, which soon led him down to take an interest in forensics. He'd always been drawn to investigative jobs, but never driven to civil service. At a young age, he had proclivity for being a general daredevil and just getting out there, one way or another; he had little moral sense and no foundation with which to build himself further, just a sense of adventure that led him down the wrong ally. Most of it was in order to garner experience and, in general, live life and none of which for the general purpose of causing anarchy and mayhem. Such dealings, however, landed him quite a bit of time in prison, for which he was bailed out only a year into his sentence by a UK Government Official who saw him as an opportunity and not the illogically maniacal idiot that he was.

This, and various years of training and preparation (as well as further education), landed him a small job in MI6, working as a tech agent before being transferred to forensic analysis, in which he got his B.S. for. He proved time and time again his proficiency in any field he was placed in, and skyrocketed through the echelons of the government agency to secure a spot as one of its most renowned agents. He was especially proficient in field work more geared toward covert operations and investigation, where his talents and skills shown the best. Prior work often involved months, maybe a year's time, where he gathered information and infiltrated various groups of concern throughout the world. Definitely not a James Bond, but he did prove to be a very invaluable asset. Though, failed jobs, which were few, and the general iffy nature of his own job made it very hard to trust even his own colleagues and Sybil became more accustomed to work alone, with maybe a fellow speaking through an earpiece. He liked it that way and it made room for a more reserved and cautious Sybil than what his previous workings, most criminal, dealt with.

One specific job that garnered the attention of PCMC, was one dealing with the Triad in Shanghai, China. He'd set up shop, in which he was to replace an American liaison doing shady business for a particularly corrupt politician. The details on the transaction were iffy, but he was to simply 'replace' the man to infiltrate said organization of great concern. Apparently the organization held a large supply of equipment and resources to build weapons of mass destruction, one of which was intended as an act of bio-terrorism, to secure their place in the Chinese government in an attempt to make China, once again, isolationist—a kind of show to make sure they weren't to be messed with. Sybil spent approximately one year securing data and providing locations for further evidence, so that it would allow UN officials, as well as China's own government to deal with it without raising further panic. Though, he missed one crucial bit of information regarding the actual bio-weapon they were working on.

This turned rather sour in his exfiltration.

Stationed in a rather populated hotel somewhere in northern Chongqing, Sybil was to be picked up by another MI6 agent and transported to a safe zone where he could be flown back and the evidence could be safely extracted. What was to be quick and clean, turned into full blown chaos. The actual bio-weapon was the insertion of various parasites into a select group of people, one of which was a test subject who escaped the facility they were conducting research in. That facility was in the sewers of northern Chongqing. The carrier unknowingly spread the disease throughout the seedier sections of the city. The parasite was extremely lethal, killing the carrier hours after he'd escaped and then reanimating him into what seemed like a mix between Dracula and the infected of 28 Days later. It created a terrifying species of ghoul with the leg strength of a frog the size of a man, skin a pale death, and rows of sharp teeth. It had found its way from the sewers into the basement of the hotel Sybil had stationed himself in and it spread the parasite erratically through the building.

Sybil was only alerted of the danger when it was too late. A man on his floor had come screaming down, yelling in Chinese about "jiangshi" feasting on his coworkers. The man was quickly subdued by the ghoul chasing him, liquefying his insides and quickly sucking him dry. Shocked and terrifying, Sybil didn't react until the beast was a leap away, but quickly dispatched the thing before it could do the same to him and then witnessed the reanimation of the corpse it had just killed. Unable to make hide or hair of his situation, Sybil resorted to relying on his instincts. Fighting tooth and nail through the building, Sybil found his way to the lobby and the source of the sudden infestation. The beings had burrowed through the ceiling of the basement into the lobby and seemed to file like rats from there. It was illogical how fast they were multiplying, but it didn't seem to stop them. Though, through some mix of a miracle and his own skills, Sybil made his way from the flight of stairs to the exit. Apparently the organization that had made the creatures tracked down their subject and was satisfied with eradicating that portion of Chongqing to quell the infestation in their own country. This meant dropping strategically placed napalm bombs onto compromised buildings and flooding out the sewers, then blaming it on a house fire that got too out of hand.

This occurred just as Sybil came to the glass doorway that led to safety and also when he spotted a little girl huddled in the corner nursing a bitten arm. Finding the courage to go against all logical protocol, he sneaked his way to her, snatched her up, and brought her to safety. Through flames and screeching ghouls, he made his way outside, only mildly burned and extremely exhausted. And he knew she was infected, but also knew a way to make this moment as painless as possible for her. As she writhed in pain the car that escaped the epicenter, he could only shakily bring the gun to her chin and coo soft words. This was better than succumbing to the parasite that liquefied her insides or the endless fire that would slowly consume her. The agent in the front seat didn't question his motives and only flinched when she heard the gunshot.

"What happened?"

He only frowned, letting the body of the young girl slump in his arms. "I don't think I want to know."

The plane that was to send him home was shot out of the sky and crashed in Chernobyl, where a few PCMC agents found him nearly dead in the wreckage and suffering from more radiation than wounds. Apparently, he'd been tagged prior to leaving Shangai due to the incident that he was unknowingly a part of. It was a shot of luck that all of the events seemed to fall perfectly in place, from the infestation of an 'alien' being to the crashing in Chernobyl where the agents had been conducting research prior. Though it wasn't coincidence and he'd learned that; Sybil was used as a means to eradicate the organization to contain what would probably become the next apocalypse.

Whatever means necessary.

In the interest check, he did say he was a busy fellow. I wouldn't be worried; this, I feel, will go at a generally comfortable pace for high-casual to low-advanced, maybe mid-cas. I'd expect posts to file in on a day to maybe a few days basis. That's a good, regular time frame, especially for someone who's knee deep in school work or actual work. Actually, that maybe a bit quick, in relation to how heavily one's workload is.

Being on break, I, sadly, have all day to just fiddle around on the internet. I need to find something to bide my time. *Sad Face*

And especially since I doubt he'd let something he worked so hard on go to waste. This is a very well-thought out and very structured RP. I don't doubt that he spent a lot of his free-time thinking about this. I personally, wouldn't doubt his commitment to his own RP. But, that's just me.

Lance is more often than not quite a devoted GM, if past experiences are any indication. Impatience is quite an unfortunate flaw to have, so try to be at ease knowing that he hasn't abandoned us~!
