Oi! Had a feeling when I heard the mention of Bleach.

In that case I don't know what Beta is talking about. Glad to have you abroad!

We could use more of the old Arena vets.

I had no idea these limits existed, but frankly these numbers feel a bit arbitrary. If all a guy could do was lift 100 tons with technology, he wouldn't be high, he would be a crane.

So we can strap him to a missile and send him to another country?

Glad to be back. Hopefully I'll get in a few good bouts, it's been quite awhile since I've really had a good battle tbh.

Hey guys, before i go to sleep, i'll drop a few questions here, and i would be very glad if you were to answer them. Two are associated with the fact that i want to have my characters use armor crafted magic-enhaced technologies, BTW.

1) As far as i know, the hardness of ceramic trauma plates is what helps them dissapate kinetic energy. If so, then would Lonsdaleite (carbon allotrope, 1.5 times harder than diamond) be the perfect material for them?

2) Would growing (by magics, of course) a fibrous "web" inside the plate increase the distribution of kinetic energy upon impact?

3) Would it be eaiser to slice or stab through a CNT woven vest than to penetrate it with a bullet?

Crystalline Carbon Allotropes are, like all crystals, laden with shear points. Generally substances that aren't crystalline are vastly superior in protection than crystals. Simply because they don't just shatter once you get to a certain point.

Likely, but that delves into theoretical situations, so suspension of disbelief.

No, it's the same kind of force distribution when you stab something and shoot something. That is sharp force trauma in both cases. (Depending on the kind of bullet, of course.)

Could just use Vanadium Carbide. Good stuff.

Wrong, Good Sir.

A stab with a blade carries more force and will generally do more damage to an armored target, as the force of the blow is followed-through by the strength of the one doing the stabbing. A bullet impacts, distributes its kinetic energy, and has no further force to back it up.

You know, one shouldn't worry about the technical aspects of things to much beyond using basic examples.

@Leeroy, Sharp trauma? Don't you mean blunt trauma?

Beta: On a technicality, you are right. But on a technicality, they both come to points and penetrate with the points.

Khan: I don't know about your swords and rifle rounds, but mine are sharp.

That would be penetrating/puncture trauma. Though bullets can still cause damage similar to blunt trauma even when piercing the body since when a round enters the body it creates 'waves' depending on the velocity and size of the bullet, two such waves creates additional internal injuries akin to being struck with a blunt object.

So in a weird way bullets can be both piercing weapons and blunt weapons.

Weird facts.

Hydrostatic shock would ruin Sukoh's day.
