You could just do what I did and make a character without being unintentionally influenced by the power levels of other people's characters. You do this simply by not reading other people's power listings.

I generally try to do that, but I guess there's an underlying paranoia that there'll be a character I don't stand a chance against or something? So I try to make characters I know won't get flat out crushed, but also won't do flat out crushing either. So it's as fair as possible.

Yeah, honestly your best bet is to go ahead post in the CS, LeeRoy and others will take a look at it, then give you reviews of it.

You'd think we could at least wait to see the character before accusing it of being too powerful... Geez.

Taking notes from past experiences, however, that's all I'm going to say on the matter.

But back to business. Any consensus on the strength level issue yet? My reasoning in bringing it up was not to be able to make a character that can simply crush all other characters, it was to enable strength-based characters to actually play ball with the other high-tiers and stand a chance of pulling out a win. As things are, a character with maxed out strength can have their strength matched by characters who have half a dozen other powerful abilities besides. That just doesn't sit right. If a character has all their focus on one thing, they should be able to be better at that thing than any other character who isn't completely focused on it. At least in the confines of a combat RP setting. For instance, a man who has dedicated his entire life to learning how to shoot (to the exclusion of all other forms of combat) should be able to shoot better than a man who has split his time between learning how to shoot and learning how to fight with martial arts.

Note: I did not actually mean "we", and I am fully aware there were only two persons jumping to conclusions about the character.

You haven't even SEEN the character and you're already passing judgement. I'm not trying to get him a yes vote, I'm trying to get him a fair one. Something you don't seem to be at all interested in. In any real life situation where a person in a position of authority has as much bias as you've shown, they'd be expected to excuse themselves and allow someone else to step in for a time.

I have no bias. I was told he would be OP as fuck, asked just HOW OP, told Goku/Superman/etc level... and told him Gods weren't allowed.

It spiraled from there as he tried to say he didn't say that.

Am I against the concept of a "fuck all you high tier cunts, I'll buttfuck you sideways with a hot poker" type of character? Absolutely. Am I against reviewing said OP concept, telling the creator no and that it needs to be edited, and INCLUDING what needs edited or removed? Not at all.
