You are so sweet. I'll admit, I find myself wanting to design team Victaislinn shirts a little more with each post from you and Heroes. >__>

BUT ALSO WAITING WITH BATED BREATH FOR SIYA AND ATTICUS TO GET. IT. ON. >={

A character of mine rates double-billing on fan shirts? I can die happy today, right now!

omg right? >< Hell, even I'm of the opinion Siya needs to pop that wolf's heart in her wee little fist like a grape...

And teeeeeeeeeeeechnically, wouldn't Heroes get the patent/copyright on kamikaze werewolves, since he created the concept? Or is it just the phrase that becomes intellectual property or some such? Yeah, I'll admit - not a clue >.>

Aaaaaaaaaand, just a call out to the folks who are yet to post like NYer/Serge? Hellis? Dannyel? It's the weekend so, as a wise GM friend of mine once showed me, there should be no poking on the weekends, because sometimes people just have "stuff." Still, a quick OOC would be wonderful, to let us know how things are going? This section is moving at a good clip, and I'd hate to see anyone left behind.

Honestly, I just don't know what to do. I feel like Aoife is just seriously underpowered compared to you guys. :(

I'm not sure what to tell you here D, but making your way towards the action would be a good start. Be active, not passive. Who would you like Aoife to interact with, move towards them and see what happens. PM someone, coordinate with them if that would help. Don't worry so much about the power, She uses Glamour right? Glamour the heck out of her and have her get to the others... Lots of options you just need to take the reins.

I'm not sure what you mean by that - honestly she is right in the thick of the whole Aislinn/Archibald thing but my point is that I think my character is rather useless. So she can make herself invisible/change her appearance - that's the limitation of her glamour. And umm…yeah, she's got a lil bit of foresight but that's about it. I guess I'm just not used to playing at such a high power level but I think I really shot myself in the foot here. She's not designed as a physical fighter nor does she have any weapons, you know? It's not like she can just pull 'em out of thin air.

Well then, re-write her until you feel she fits better. She hasn't really done anything so there is nothing to be undone. I'm sure you could run a tweaked CS by the GMs, but powers aside, most of this RP is about interacting with random bits of action in between, so focus on interactions. Siya's sheet has nothing really about her powers, I sort of make it up as I go along, keeping in mind what would make for the coolest scene without being absurdly over-powered. We don't get led around by the nose to plot, we must be proactive (but not plot wrecking) in finding our fun.

Lillian's right, Dannyel. Your limiting yourself before you even begin. Don't be afraid to expand upon your character: half the fun is thinking up imaginative ways your character can adapt and overcome in the situations presented in the RP. Aoife doesn't have to be a warrior, or even fight at all, if you don't feel like that's her thing. But, that doesn't preclude you from having her react to whats going on. She's supposed to be an asset, enough so that Atticus called her in to help stop the coming of Ragnarok, so run with that. Again, like Lillian suggested, interact with those around your character. Have Aoife jump in a help pull Hoyle to safety, or have her try to tend to Aislinn's wounds. These are just suggestions, of course, but there are things you can do.

Maybe we just come from different philosophies of RP, but this I find really, truly scary. At that point there is no limit or guide to how a character would work, or how the magic works, or how anything really works and that in a sense ruins the fun for me. The fun is in the limitations and keeping true to them. Otherwise any reasonable and willing suspension of disbelief gets thrown out the window because anything goes as long as it is cool.

@Heroes - I get what your saying, I really do, but I'm having a hard time justified internally an activity on Aoife's part because she doesn't know what's going on IC. Honestly, the only person she knows here is Atticus and she's in a situation where she doesn't what is going on and now would probably be a terrible time to start a conversation about it. It's just a really awkward time to have introduced her in my opinion and I'm not sure how to fix that.

I agree completely, but don't characters need to be introduced before they can change?

No. Why should it? You have a blank slate to play with, if you can come up with a way for Aoife to be a useful B&H agent. This is an original world, where the delineation of powers and limitations both are still being written.

At this moment, I have a werewolf doing nothing more than carrying another unconscious (or possibly dead) werewolf. Derren Krenshaw has a wight who just squeezed off some shots with an automatic pistol he carries. Heroes' Bain - a millenium-old, ridiculously powerful vampire - is wielding a sword and herding the group toward the shade gates (that, btw, Aoife just came out of as I recall?). That's it. How any of those actions is extremely high-powered or awesomely breathtaking I couldn't say, but there they are.

Well gosh it can be well and truly scary. I've seen some horrible, implausible, plot wrecking, textually masturbation sort of stuff done when there were no limits, even the hints of it in the first addition of this very RP. But here you have a wonderful GM who weeds that crap out. On top of that you have some talented writers who tend look to the good of the plot and the fun of their fellow players when writing such posts. Hopefully, eventually you will have trust enough in all the above to just let it happen.

Okay, I don't want to escalate things or cause an argument here, but I'm starting to feel like I'm not a good fit for this group. It's cool, you all are lovely people, but I think my play-style is too radically different from yours and I don't want to cause any more friction. I think it would be best if I left the RP.

I know that Aoife has already been inserted onto the scene, so I'm willing to discuss ways of taking her out of it. Deletion would be simplest, though it would require a couple of minor edits on others, but I'm also willing to have her be a casualty too. I'm fine with either - or you can take her as an NPC - so please let me know what's the best for you.

Thank you for at least giving things a try here Dannyel, and best wishes to you in the future. Don't worry about un-inserting Aoife, you're not the first person to leave, so it's just a matter of doing a little "clean-up," not a problem. Whatever happens to Aoife in the story will just be left to Heroes, to see what - if anything - needs to be done for her, no worries! ;)

I completely understand where you're coming from -- I've made it a few posts into an RP before, only to dip out when I realised it didn't quite suit the character I had in mind at all. Even with this one my initial idea for the character was not half so absurdly powerful as he ended up being... but it's the fun of the action here in Pieces of Eight, as I see it -- ridiculously powerful characters fighting against supernatural odds so massive that the balance between the two manages to even out.

If that doesn't work for you, then best of luck! (Though I don't see any reason you or the character wouldn't work -- of course, that's all for you to decide)

Good early afternoon all! Hope everyone's weekend has been going wonderfully - relaxing and fun and all good things! *cheers*

So we've had the chance to hear from Dannyel, but Hellis? NYer/Serge? How are you guys doing? I know Hellis had a rough week last week, and Serge was busy all heading home - hope to hear from you guys soon!

Sorry, sorry, sorry. I got home and pretty much just slept. I had almost no intention of doing anything once my head met the bed on thrusday night, and I pretty much fulfilled that. Aside from having to entertain family yesterday. Anyway, I am sitting down to watch an episode of one of my favorite shows, after I will begin promptly on the post. It should be up in less than 3 hours.

Wait... Serge, didn't you say a few OOC posts/days back that you were on your way home, we could expect a long post imminently? Then again, senility... >.> There's always the sad possibility... ><

STILL! It's so good to hear from you both, just didn't want you to be left behind completely. Heroes' posts for these scenes are coming pretty regularly, and it's definitely one of those "you snooze, you lose" moments for big exploding awe-inspiring outta hand RP fun

Mine is up very very soon. How many werewolves are inside with us? I was wondering if we are fighting a whole bunch or a few really badass ones. Or a whole bunch badass ones.

Right now there is the assassin wolf whose heart Siya is holding, and there is one other that's open for play. Wordsmith's post implied he had cut one of the wolves with his sword, and it may or may not have retreated. Still, they're Lupus Naturae fanatics - whether it's gone forever or not is entirely open for interpretation if you've an idea for Henry.

There is also the white wolf Zakhar, but Heroes has already said he's off limits at the moment.

The kamikaze wolves are outside the keep.
