Personality:

Amelia is a calm and collected individual, even a little bit quieter then what one might expect for a GEAR pilot. She often prefers to observe rather than get stuck into the middle of a conversation and will usually offer her opinions here and there or when asked directly. She can be talkative, especially when she's more comfortable around the person and often shows a curiosity to learn more about that person. She shows a willingness for knowledge and enjoys books especially. Amelia does have the potential for a temper, however it's rarely seen and she will likely walk away from conflict rather than confronting it directly, another trait which comes across as strange for a GEAR pilot. Amelia enjoys peace and quiet, however she is always willing to spend time with friends and share past experiences.

Personal History:

Originally Amelia had been working towards achieving a degree in mathematics, intending to eventually become a Maths teacher at a Landren university. However it seemed her life was lacking something, an excitement that was lost in her every day civilian life. So she came upon the idea to enlist for the GEAR division, thinking that perhaps a military career might take her around the world to different places and bring her a wealth of cultural experiences which would saturate her thirst for knowledge. Her parents were against the idea, and voiced as much upon learning her decision, but she enlisted regardless. During the first couple years of her training her career took off to an early start, her ability with numbers proving that she could potentially make a great strategist. By the next year she'd achieved her potential. By learning combat strategy and by studying historical battles she'd managed to develop her mind into a weapon, a tool which could be used directly in the field to optimize the efficiency of combat through her understanding of different environments, enemies and the psychology of war.

So they put her to the test. They set up fake field operations on a computer, giving her ever changing scenarios in order to challenge her on multiple levels. Out of ten military field scenarios, she'd won nine of them with minimal to no casualties and had retreated her virtual forces once, managing to save ninety percent of her forces in doing so. It seemed she had really became a great strategist. Two years passed before she was eventually called to serve under the command of one Silverwind Blade. She now awaits her transfer papers to be processed.

A six chamber snub nose revolver holstered on her thigh. The frame is made from an indestructible metal and can be fitted with a longer barrel.

The ATAM, or the (All Terrain Anti Mech) vehicle is designed to be a heavy hitter support unit with a unique development in mind. For the ATAM is equipped with both lethal and non lethal aspects for anti mech purposes. The main role of the ATAM is support.

1x 90mm Revolving cannon totalling 6 shots.
2x Heavy Gatling Machine guns
2x Macross Missile launchers totalling 58 missiles.
2x Anti infantry machine guns.

1x Medium range radar.
1x Search light
2x Chaff pods
Thermal Cameo armour.
System COM link & Frequency amplifier.
Laser designation system.

Other notes:

This Gear was designed to major in all support roles. For this reason it's equipment and design has been chosen and carefully considered for field battle operations revolving around that particular role. This Gear is usually chosen by field strategists, however due to it's six leg design most strategists opt out of using it, instead choosing a smaller bipedal GEAR. This GEAR is fewer in number compared to most GEAR designs as it seems to require additional training as well as the GEAR itself having some flaws which make it prone to breaking down more compared to others. The ATAM Sovereign is the newest class model of the six legged variant and engineering teams are hoping it will prove itself a gem in it's field out in live situations.

Wow, that's a pretty cool GEAR. Though I do remember Silver saying that railguns are to be kept to what are basically crewed artillery pieces, but it's his decision. Just giving a friendly reminder.

Ahh I see. I had that armament in the thread before the site crash. I could always change it to a sabot shell artillery cannon. Something similar to a tank gun, or something. I'll wait to see what Silver says. But I wont be coming along for a fair bit yet since you're full :P

So there's plenty of time to work out little tweaks and stuff. :)

I've sent Ridlins a message, since we haven't heard a peep from him/her on GEARs for over a month, despite their posting in other threads. If they are dropping out, then I'll hand that spot over to you, and introduce your character and Slyp's at the same time.

Regarding the armament, yeah - if you wouldn't mind dropping the railguns to something like saboted cannon of some kind - they'd have to be significantly smaller caliber than tank guns, as GEARs are too small and light to handle the recoil from 100+mm cannon. But you could go for something like an Electrothermal propellant cannon to get an increased speed, or rocket-assisted projectiles or something at around 60-70mm or so? That'll give more than enough whack for anti-GEAR ops.

Perhaps you could have something like the main gun on the AMX 13, which is a hugely popular and sucessful post-war French light tank with an autoloader. It comes in 75mm and 90mm variants and is very light, all while packing a six shot revolving autoloader for the 90mm version and twelve shots for the 75 mil. It fires very fast and from what I gathered from research, was very reliable and accurate. Maybe you could do something like that instead?

The reason I gave it a rail gun was mostly because I had no idea what to do with it haha. But that works just as well :)

Edit again: I actually like that autoloader variant. If it's allowed I might use that.

Sure, if it's extant tech, then I have no problem with it at all. The caliber fits nicely, and if your GEAR is designed as a GEAR-buster then it works in that regard too. It's also a significant threat to most other things too, short of a Landcruiser or head on against an MBT... but then, if any of us are throwing ourselves in front of MBT's, then we're doing it wrong anyway.

Silver - Mind if I control the GEARs on the bridge a tad in my next post? Since your team's engaging the other group, it'd doubtlessly attract their attention, and I'd assume they'd work their way over to the action to investigate. They've got another thing coming, however!

Anyway I edited to the six shot 90mm revolving cannon. I feel 12 shots is a bit too much considering the 58 macross massacre and twin heavy Gatling machine guns.

I'll put your CS in the OP, and once this training exercise is over, I'll introduce you and Slypheed at the same time. Sorry you have to sit tight for a bit, but introducing you both right now would be a litle disruptive to things. Still, we shouldn't be too long if this pace keeps up.
