Description:
A man from Canada who is unpredictable as he is clever, such as when he feigned his disabled leg for a number of years and deceived the last Changeling into trusting him. Formerly the CPO, and alleged intelligence agent, of the esteemed Dreadnaughts. He now resides in the States as a psychology professor for the University of Washington, and is an unparalleled genius in his field, even making business trips to the DOVE facility in Baybridge to deliver lectures and presentations on meta-human relations and social psychology as an honored guest. He has a wide variety of contacts and friends in high places. He played his own subtle role in the Verthaven disaster โ from neutralizing heavy artillery Changelings, tracking down the remnants that remained to tie up loose ends, and supplied Meifeng with the intel that allowed her to be the Hands-destroying machine she came to be known as. With an unknown number of cards up his sleeved, and still indeterminable intentions, itโs always a mystery what he may be planning โ even to Zhao Lihua, who as rumors suggest has gotten closer to him than anyone ever has.

Superpowers are charged by meta-human energy that can be harnessed and utilized. Baron is unique in that he is more like a faux meta-human,, as his meta-human energy is negatively charged as opposed to a positive charge, opposing everything that anyone knows about meta energy. This negative charge acts like an aura and cannot be traditionally utilized or harnessed and therefore Baron doesn't have any real superpower. However, this energy does interact with the energy of other meta-humans in an intriguing way. It negates it effects and renders it inert. This means that anything imbued with a positively charged meta-human energy has zero effect on Baron's person.
To clarify further, an individual with pyrokinesis ignites an artificial flame. That flame is made by the power and is imbued with some of the essence of its creator. That essence is broken down when it comes into contact with Baron and he receives no harm from it. It doesn't matter if you bathe him in an endless stream of fire, he'll suffer no foul. This goes for even ingesting poisons generated from powers. The toxins are imbued with meta-human energy and are broken down the moment it touches him. Powers that cloak its user, such as invisibility, are negated on contact with Baron allowing him to see the person invisible. Even powers that don't make any form of contact โ as long as they're directed at him โ are rendered inert, such as telepathy or telekinesis. The negative energy blocks them out like an impenetrable wall.
