Summertime, and the livin' is easy
Fish are jumpin' and the cotton is high
Oh, your daddy's rich and your ma is good-lookin'
So hush little baby, Don't you cry...

It's July and a hot Louisiana summer bears down on 4 teenagers and their younger siblings. "If you're joking about this, I'll throw you straight in the bayou!" one threatens their sibling. "we're not teasing!" the siblings whine back. Earlier that day the group of younger kids had been digging down by the water, trying to create a private "pool" for themselves when they stumbled across some human remains. When the full group reached the scene of the crime, it was very shocking to say the least. It hadn't been a joke after all, and the mangled body of a young woman would haunt their thoughts and dreams for days to come.

Police investigation became quickly underway in the small town, and that's where our story starts.

So, this is an idea I've used before, but have been throwing around in my head and would like to try it again with a few new twists. We would be playing the 4 teenagers and their younger siblings (you may double) and I would be willing to open spaces for the investigation team, the killer/monster, and other townies.

It is for us to decide whether this is:

1) A serial killer
2) A one time situation with deep meaning
3) A non human monster

Let me know what you think and if you're interested :)

Will be accepting no more than 10 people into the roleplay itself.

Interested! I remember participating in an older rp of yours along the same lines but it never really got off the ground. Hopefully this time we'll have better luck, eh? You might remember me, I believe my old username was DaDrummer878.

I'm sure people will stick around, second time's the charm ya? XD

EDIT -- I have a couple ideas for each scenario, not sure if you have something already worked out for each but here's what I got. :)

If it was a serial killer, then it'd add the component of multiple killings and a sense of urgency to figure out who s/he is. May I suggest if it's a serial killer that s/he kills the victims with a signature or some sort of pattern. i.e. They find the woman's body shot in the head but mutilated to make a smiley face on her body. Like maybe there are cuts shaped like X's on each breast and then gutted to make a smiley face. Gross but it'd be interesting to say the least.

If it a monster then we could add a research aspect to the Rp, although we could do thee same with a serial killer. Maybe they have to delve deep into mythology or something along those lines. It'd be crazy if towards the end they ended up face to face with it but since they researched they knew it had some sort of weakness and exploited that.

If it was one killing but with a significant meaning there could be a bunch of possibilities. We could make it a huge scandal where maybe the woman knew something she wasn't and a large company had to take care of her and now the kids know something is wrong with the system and they somehow try to expose the scandal.

Just a few ideas, I don't care if they're used or not. They were just on my mind and I felt like writing them down. :P

Bahaha, yes this is VERY much still up.
I will start on an OOC later today I think--

Thank you all for your interest :) It makes me super excited.

@BassDropp I love your ideas! Please don't mind if I take from them as I create our plot.
Maybe if you'd like to be my co-gm we can even work together to make this rp?

Let's take a vote on what scenario we would like to go with:

1) Serial Killer

2) One Time Case

3) Monster

Yes, all scenarios will involve us trying to find out who/what did the crime.

@MissCapnCrunch This kind of thing could rapidly devolve into panic and everyone arguing and turning against each other. I'd suggest a stable, older person to hold them together. I'm willing to RP an adult. Say, someone's uncle, who's fun, popular, responsible, and who can take control and advise them...and who gets killed next. BWAHAHAHAHA.

@MissCapnCrunch Sorry for DP'ing, I want to respond to your vote:

1. Yes, but make sure you plan it out. I've read all of the original Sherlock Holmes books, so if you make it up as you go, I'm going to catch loopholes. You could give him a motive of revenge, but you could just as well make him just get a kick out of killing people.

If you want, I'll gladly collaborate via PM to figure out how it would go. I'll compensate for RPing a guy who gets offed early on. Even better, if I was a popular, loved person, it'll encourage them to stay (WE SHALL AVENGE HIM!) rather than run for their lives.

2. Not really interested. Then it's just a lot of character development and nightmares, and it doesn't have a clear ending. For multiple murders, they can still do those things, but it'll have an end goal (catch the killer and everyone goes home), and they'll have something to do.

3. Nonononono please no. Then we have to figure out what it is and how to kill it, and we'll end up with stereotypical "Monsters aren't real!" arguments. Would they have to use Google or a library or something to learn how to combat it? "Siri, how do I kill the swamp kraken?" Haha.

Whatever plot you/we decide on, my interest has been piqued. :)
I'd prefer either scenario 1 or 2, but 1 probably gives more opportunity for thrilling moments, as murders may happen as the plot advances.

I'm in favor of the first scenario. Not so much the third but that's just because I like the whodunits to be grounded and gritty.
