Sacha sits outside of her tent in the Rabin camp. She lets out a soft sigh as she grabs her bow from the ground beside her. "I should check the border." She mutters to herself, one of her least favorite tasks. Turning, she heads out of the camp, glancing around for anyone who was available to go with her.

Like usual, Paisley was bored. There hasn't been much action lately and all she wanted was a good, old fight. She glanced around camp, her eyes full of mischief and a smirk resting on her lips. Who could I annoy? she thought but then, as if struck with inspiration, she had a better idea. She stood and dusted herself off before heading to the camp entrance. The river was always a good spot to start a fight.

Sacha reaches the river and steps onto a semi-flat rock. She slowly scans the Brom side of the river, searching for any movement. Not seeing any, she hops down and puts her bow on a notch on her quiver. She walks along the Rabin side of the river, an ear and eye open for any sign of Broms, or any prey that might be scurrying about.

Paisley entered into the forest with a smile on her face. She headed straight for the river, looking around as she did. It was a beautiful day, the birds were singing and the Rabins were lurking. She smirked when she saw Sacha going up and down the river. Climbing into a tree quietly, she perched onto a branch and extracted a small knife from her jacket. She aimed and it landed by Sacha's feet with perfect accuracy. A fight where both parties knew they were fighting was always much better.

Ren stood in his large tent, scowling as he carefully began to try and pour a signal drop... of a special serum... into another vial of bubbling... orange liquid... The slightest miskak could be disastrous.

Sacha jumps slightly. She scowls and picks up the knife, turning it in her hand. "Are you trying to make a point Brom? Or do you just have bad aim?" She asks, holding up the knife before tucking it into her bag. "Either way, it makes a nice gift, so thank you for that." She raises her hand in a wave before continuing to stroll along the border, deciding to play games with the Brom.

Aya pops out of her tent, grateful to see that the drizzling rain from earlier had dispersed. Just the other day she'd lost her umbrella to unknown forces... Unknown forces being the wind which had blown it from her grip. She'd have to buy a new one soon, or at least a raincoat. The Rabins could hardly afford their healer not being able to go out and about because of a little water. Already the weather had stopped her from pursuing the herb-collecting she'd been planning to do by the river for too long. She sets off out the camp, too distracted by her mission to ask if anyone wanted to come along.

Destin huffs as he pushes past the bramble bushes outside his tent. "How could Fabine let the camp get so bad?" He asks quietly, shaking his head as he brushes a few branches away from his legs. He puts his hands on his hips and frowns, surveying the camp. "Okay. Herbs first, then take care of these bushes!" He smiles faintly and grabs his pouch and dagger before shifting and lightly trotting out of camp. He weaves through the trees, heading towards the river.

As she quickly walks Aya's head is filled with the thoughts the herbs she could find. At this time of year with all the rain there should be some healthy plants out. Only as she approaches does she remember the dangers on the other side of the river. Aya's fear almost stops her for a moment and she wishes she'd brought someone with her, but it seemed so silly to go back now. Convincing herself that she would be find, she hurries on and makes it to the riverbank.

Destin spots the river up ahead. He nods and slows down, before shifting. He adjusts his pouch, before looking around for the herbs. Everything was glistening from water, which didn't help when the herb he was searching for had distinct lines on the leaves, which would be obscured by the water. He crouches down by a patch of leaves, trying to brush some of the water off the leaves to see what herb it was.

Aya only spots Destin once she is out of the trees in full sight. She freezes, unsure of who he is. Holding her breath, she considers her options. She could certainly go back into the forest. Or maybe this person wasn't a Brom? Strangers had walked on both sides of the river more often than she could remember. It would be unfair to judge anyone she saw at first sight. And why should she leave? There was nothing wrong with collecting herbs. Nobody could fault her for it, surely. The whole time as thinks she keeps her eyes on this strange boy. It was something about the plant he was looking at.

Destin doesn't notice Aya, completely absorbed in his task. He grins to himself as the stripes become clear without the water on the leaves. "Yes!" He says a bit loudly. He then giggles and begins to gently pluck the leaves, folding them in half and putting them in his pouch. He smiles to himself as he counts out twenty leaves before standing. He brushes himself off, before pausing, feeling something amidst. He looks around warily, before his eyes rest on Aya. They widen and he steps back from the river, ready to bolt if she meant him any harm.

The moment Destin's eyes fell on Aya she felt a terrible shock. Now that the stranger had noticed her there was no telling what me might do. Her mind scrambles to remember if she'd brought her knife with her this time. Wait, her knife? Aya's gaze fell from Destin to the leaves at her feet. The thought of her knife had reminded her of the task at hand. Those leaves did look an awful lot like the ones she'd been looking for. Had this boy been collecting them too? She looks at him quizzically, noting that he didn't appear very menacing.

Destin watches her a few more moments before stepping towards her, trying to look bigger. "M-my groupmates are r-right behind me!" He calls out to her, his voice trembling. He clears his throat and clenches his fists, trying again, "They're going to come get you Rabin! You better leave!" He warns. He still had his dagger in his hand, which was starting to tremble again. He takes a step back quickly, trying to hide the trembling.

"Y-yeah, well!" Aya steels herself, not prepared to be scared off by this boy. "My groupmates are nearby too! They won't let you hurt me!" She spoke with more courage than she felt, but the glint of Destin's dagger in the sun and the thought of eerie Brom eyes watching in the trees behind him made her immediately feel some regret for her stance. She considers searching for her knife in her backpack, but it would leave her much to open to attack.

Destin frowns. "Hurt you?" He then manages a small laugh. "I'm a healer. I don't hurt people!" He then pales, realizing that he just admitted that he wouldn't hurt her if she came after him. He takes another small step back, preparing to run back to camp. He trips over a tree branch and falls on his back. His pouch flies open, sending the leaves everywhere. He gasps and scrambles to gather them before the wind can blow them away. He momentarily forgets about Aya, his dagger falling away a few feet as he tries to gather the leaves.

Aya feels a wave of relief the moment that Destin says he's a healer, and is about to explain her own situation when he attempts to retreat. The image of the boy falling over in a flurry of leaves is both sad and hilarious, and she stifles a laugh at the sight of it. Something inside Aya twinges and she feels her curiosity about another healer overcome her. She shifts and flies over to the other side, landing with her talons over Destin's fallen dagger. They hit the metal hilt with a clink.

Destin flinches at the noise and scoots away from her a bit, before raising his eyes from the ground to look at the hawk in front of him. He sighs, defeatedly and plops back, sitting in the grass. "Alright, kill me now, just get it over with.." He says quietly, hanging his head sadly. He exhales softly, before closing his eyes and waiting for the killing blow to strike.

Aya smiles to herself and shifts back, slipping the blade of the knife into her hand and offering him the hilt. "Hey, you dropped this. I've heard Broms aren't really forgiving, so it might not be a good idea to come back weaponless." She still stays fairly far away from him keeping in mind that he's a Brom, but she can't help but feel sorry for Destin. The image of him falling still sticks in her head.
