The Two Sides
IC Introduction
Rumors say there are people living in two camps in the woods. That weird things happen between the two groups, and that no one who goes in the forest ever returns. Rumors also say that whoever goes in the woods get killed by the two groups, that they are murderous and eat children who venture there. You decide to investigate, not worried about the consequences. Your life has never been easy, you left home for one reason or another, and have nothing left to lose.
That night, you pack your backpack, packing a little bit of food, a sleeping bag, and the essentials. You walk into the woods. You scan the area as you walk, searching for any movement nearby. Suddenly, an arrow lands at your feet. You jump back in alarm. You look up at the trees around you, and gasp as you see a girl swing down from the branches. You take a step back as she lands on the ground, a few feet in front of you. She straightens up and looks at you calculating. “What do you want here?” She asks. You shrug. “Just seeing if the rumors are true.” You say.
She laughs. “Well, whatever they are, they likely are true.” You nod slowly. She grins. “So you came to see if there were two camps out here. Didn't you?” She asks. You nod. “Yeah, and also that..” She interrupts. “Also, that we eat people right?” She asks. You nod. “Yeah...” She smiles and sets her bow down. Before you can blink, a large cheetah appears in her place. You open your mouth to say something, but the girl returned. "So what do you think? Better than eating children right?"
You can't quite process what just happened. "I...I guess so." You stammer. The girl laughs and returns in the cheetah's place. "So kid, you want to become a Rabin? See what the forest really has to offer?" “Rabin?” You ask. She sighs, shaking her head. “One of the groups that live here in these woods. The two camps have been at war with each other for many years. My camp is the Rabins, and across the river, the Broms reside. Led by Fabine.” You nod slowly, not really understanding who these two people are, but hoping to learn later. Especially if they don't eat children. “Where does that leave me?” You ask. The girl shrugs. “Well, we're always looking for new members, so if you'd like---” A shout cuts her off. “Trying to convert one of my new Broms, are you Sacha?” The girl laughs. “Ah, hello Fabine. How...pleasant to see you here, so close to my camp. And after I was just talking about you.” A tall, teenage boy jumps down, landing behind you. You spin around to face him. “Ah, yet I wasn't caught being here. Shame you have such low defenses Sacha.” Fabine chuckles. You glance between the two. Fabine glances at you, curiously. “So who's this?” He asks. “They're a new Shifter. Maybe, haven't actually seen them shift yet.” Sacha says, holding up her bow. “Ah. And you wanted them to join your Rabins?” Fabine asks, rolling his eyes. “So?” Sacha asks. “They have promise. They seem...desperate even.” Fabine crosses his arms. “Maybe they wanted to join the Broms.” He snaps. You glance between the two. They both turn to you. “Fine. They will decide.” Sacha takes a step forward. “Well? Which will you join. The Broms or Rabins?”
OOC information
Welcome to The Two Sides! The Two Sides is an adventure/slice of life Roleplay set in a forest. There are two groups in the forest, the Broms and the Rabins. The two are separated by a river that runs through the forest. Every member of the groups is a Shifter, somebody who can change into the form of an animal. (Occasionally there are human members who have joined the groups for whatever reason. These are super rare!) The two groups have been in conflict for years now, no one sure why the fighting started.
The Rabins are led by Sacha, and are 'good guys' so to speak, though there are plenty of Rabins who are bad in their own ways. They live on the north side of the river. There is also a small hill to the west of their camp.
The Broms are led by Fabine, and are the 'bad guys', though as with the Rabins, there are plenty of Broms who act in a good manner. They live on the south side of the river.
The yellow marked territory to the north west is unclaimed territory, and is typically where Shifters affiliated with nobody, known as Neithers, live.
There is also a town further north which you can also explore, where the groups go to get supplies.
Roles
There are several Roles within each group, and you must belong to one of them. Note: All roles hunt, and all roles (except healers usually) fight.
Leader
This shifter is in charge of camp politics. He or she makes all the important decisions, such as punishments, battles, and anything else that would affect the group as a whole. The leader is to be respected by all in the group. Only one per group.
Second in Command
The second in command is like the right hand man to the leader. When the leader is unable to do their duties, the second in command will step in as interim leader. This shifter makes suggestions to the leader and has some say in important decisions, but ultimately cannot control what the leader decides. Only one per group.
Healer
The healers are sort of like the doctors of the groups. They rely on whatever herbs they can find in the forest as well as medicines from town. These shifters don't typically fight in battles, but instead stand along the side lines, ready to heal any wounded fighters. They can fix almost any wound as long as it isn't too serious. Three per group.
Fighters
For these shifters, fighting up close and personal is their strong suit. The weapons they use range from throwing knives, daggers, swords, axes and anything in-between. Some even choose to not carry a weapon and instead rely on their fists. Fighters are usually on the front lines and are known to be fierce warriors. No limit.
Archers
While the fighters are on the front lines, archers prefer to provide support from the back. They are seen usually with bows or throwing knives. They also serve as scouts for the groups. Archers are typically weak in close combat, though that's not always the case. No limit.
Brawlers
These shifters are almost always in animal form, though some choose to be in their human form most of the time. These shifters fight only in their animal form. Brawlers almost never carry weapons for their greatest asset is their other half. These warriors have either brute strength or speed (or maybe even both) and usually fight alongside the fighters. No limit.
Rules
1. No name-calling or being mean. No one likes to RP with someone who's a bully. I will warn you against being mean. But you do realize this would also cause people to have a bad image of you. So just take the initiative and be nice.
2. No spamming.
3. No God-modding - Can your character take on five people at once with a small dagger and not get a single injury? No? Then don't roleplay it as such. No one likes RPing with someone who does this. So just don't do it, alright? This also includes having a know-it-all, giving them animal senses, having them be able to run across the forest in one post.
4. No power-playing. Power-playing is when you control someone else's character. Just don't do it UNLESS given permission. Also, do NOT in any situation RP another person's character, even as a joke. It's mean and not thoughtful to the other person.
5. No killing without permission. No one thinks it's funny when their favorite character dies when they didn't want it to. Ask permission before killing, and don't god-mod/powerplay the killing either. You do not have to ask permission to take a person prisoner. But if the Roleplayer tells you not to, please let them decide at that point!
6. Any explicit content needs to be fade to black or taken to PM. Also, this is an Action RP, so try not to fill it up with too much romance.
7. You can have up to 10 characters, if you can successfully roleplay that many. If I notice you stop RPing a character, I will just remove it from the list. I have enough stuff to keep track of, so if I remove a character and don't remember its name, don't get all huffy at me! I'm only human XD Just refill out the form and I'll re-add them. (I will usually change the font color on the Char tab to red, before removing completely. If this happens, just make sure to you roleplay that character sufficiently)
8. Though cussing is obviously allowed, please try not to go overboard with it. Nobody wants to see a wall of swearing. A few members aren't completely comfortable with it. We ask that you take their comfort into consideration.
9. Besides shifting, this is a realistic RP. So if your character gets injured, do not have them heal within an hour. Similarly, do not have your character running across the map in five minutes.
10. This is a Low Casual RP, please post at minimum a paragraph of five sentences with proper grammar, though feel free to post more! We understand if you maybe have one post which breaks this rule every now and again, but repeated violations will be noticed. I will call you out on this!
11. Take any OOC drama to PM's please. IC drama? Go crazy. But we don't want your personal arguments mucking up the RP.
12. GM's word is law.
13. Have fun! If you do not have fun I will make this a requirement and all of those who don't give smiley faces on a daily basis will be removed. We don't want this, now do we?
I will give two warnings for your behavior to change. One in pm, and then one in the rp itself.
If you still do not inact change, I will start a pm with you, Wallaberry and Carlsberg to discuss further action. This usually will result in removal from the roleplay. Depending on how severe the crime, you will be banned anywhere from 6 months to indefinitely. If on the banned list, I ask that you do not try to weasel your way back into the roleplay. I'm not stupid.
Probation members are those ive asked in pm to change their behavior. Be aware that this is public humiliation in an attempt to embarrass you to change. Probation lasts until I (Fionraella) have seen sufficient change and believe that you will not screw up again.

Character Sheet
Just a few things to note about making a character:
- Besides shifting, this is supposed to be a realistic roleplay. So please no characters with purple skin or red eyes.
- Please do not make your character one dimensional. So no 'the crazy one' or anything like that.
- Give your character flaws! Everybody has them, and it makes your character more interesting.
- We have the right to ask you to change something on your Character Sheet.
- We also have the right to reject your Character Sheet if you do not work with us to make your character fit the theme of the rp, or for any other reason.
IMPORTANT: Post your completed character sheet in the OOC. Once the GM or a co-GM has approved it do not post it in the CHAR tab. One of the GM's will log in to the main account and add you across in the relevant place. You may start RPing as soon as a mod has approved your CS.
