Lucien Lothringen, Defender of the Light and Seina, The Pontiff of Order]
@RolePlayerRoxas @TheWindel @KoL @Gilgex @Sodium “Well if this is the sort of atmosphere you promote, then count me as a customer, lass,” Lucien simply responded. Of course, the Bilter was definitely someone who was aesthetically pleasing, and on top of that served good drinks. What else can one really look for in a “bartender”? At least, in Lucien’s mind, all one really needed in life was a good drink and a cute girl to be content with the current situation.
"I must be lucky if you are that skilled at making drinks and that cute looking then~." But even so, though a good drink is definitely somewhat of a rarity, the value of the “cuteness of a girl” tended, for Lucien, to outweigh the quality of the drink, and to his surroundings there were a rather fair amount of what he would describe as “cute girls”.
There was a rather quiet girl who’s Crimson Lord seemed more willing to strike up a conversation, Cruel & Silent Hunter. Though skill and prowess in defeating opponents was definitely something that Lucien respected, he could not really say that he agreed with her seeming refusal to speak and enjoy herself in the current … “outing” of sorts.
“Guess you don’t really talk much, eh?” Boring girls, even if they were cute, were boring none-the-less. But the Cruel & Silent Hunter seemed to be mulling something on the inside. Perhaps she was a bit more complex than what she let on with her hmms and nods let on? Lucien was a bit interested as to what her inner workings were like, not only because she was cute but because he was not the sort to judge based solely on appearance.
Then there was a woman with a strong eastern European accent, likely Slavic in origin, but as to which origin it was it seemed a bit of a mystery. Maybe Russian? Her English skills seemed a bit off. Hardly paying attention, he had heard her voice mispronounce a few words and speak oddly. That was to be expected though. Most eastern European languages were hardly compatible with more western counterparts. But what did interest Lucien was the over-sized curved blade she carried about her person. Though she seemed a bit happy about the bar just as Lucien was.
“Can’t really say I understand what you are saying, Miss, but perhaps your Crimson Lord has some sort of idea as to what you're saying? Or perhaps you could try and speak what you were trying to convey once again? I also want to say that I like your sword.” Lucien wasn’t really trying to be rude, but ti say the least, he did want to know what the girl was babbling about in what appeared to be a strange tongue but was really in retrospect broken English.
There was also Farris Aran, but she seemed a lot less interested in the bar than the other Flame Hazes gathered today. Perhaps not “disinterested”, but more so interested in another affair. The true reason why they had arrived here in the first place. It was commendable. A room full of monsters within their own right. And Lucien was no exception, nor the other three ladies that had gained Lucien’s attention. Though unlike the other three ladies who Lucien could clearly see where “cute”, there was a degree of knowledge and deep understanding behind Farris. Farris was more of a “beauty”. At least, that was the only term that Lucien could think of to describe her from mere passing glances, and at the very least, she seemed a bit busy.
Aside from the girls who were mingling, there was also a man who had gained Lucien’s attention. Though Lucien was a rather slender compared to most others, lengthy at best, the man who had asked for a rather effeminate drink, a strawberry daiquiri, seemed as if he could crush a rock between his fists. An interesting prospect that Lucien would like to be proven right in this regard. Even if he acting in a bit of a childish manner from his drink choice, the strong definitely had a place within Lucien’s interests as potential sparring partners or those he would like to fight alongside.
“You look pretty strong. Perhaps you would be interested in sparring with be a few rounds after this is all over? Or perhaps you wish to drink a few with me?” A simple question. If he was as strong as his appearance let on, it would be good training to have mock battles against the man, Alastair . Same was true of the Eastern European lady, as the over-sized eastern blade she carried seemed to require a degree of skill to wield.
Turning back to the bartender once again, Lucien continued.
“I am Lucien Lothringen, The Defender of the Light by the way. Maybe you have a card I could borrow for your “bar” if you have one.. Maybe something with your number one it?” Lucien asked the bartender. Perhaps it was his lucky day? To find such a cute bartender and to be given free drinks by the house. At least for the time being, he would definitely love to continue drinking to a stupor. At least that was the plan until his Crimson Lord had interfered with his thoughts.
“Lucien, we came here to do a job, not to drink. There are no time to play these silly frivolous-cum-flirtatious games. You aren’t a dog, are you?” the Pontiff of Order started. At the very least, she was a good partner to have, but a boring one none the less. And Lucien definitely did a few things that she took exception to as an "individual".
“
Tch. I know, I know. I ain’t exactly about to get too off direction here. I know why I am here. But why can’t I have a bit of fun before I have to go off again? ” If lives were on the line, Lucien had to act. Men were men and would fight for what they believed in, regardless of such luxuries. If there was something he didn’t agree with, Lucien wouldn’t just sit tight and wait it out. He was one who preferred to be on the forefront; a vanguard to his fellow men and a protector to them. Comradely on the battlefield was something Lucien held to a high regard, and there was hardly forgiveness by his blade for breaking such rules.
Honor in battle and honor in action. The rules that Lucien lived by. A life without regrets was a life worth living, and as a near-immortal Lucien had a lot more years ahead of him if he didn’t happen to kill himself in the process.
Seere and Chiara, Puppeteer of Devilish Skills and Archer of Aurora respectively, had begun filling the Flame Hazes in the room about the happenings of the city. If they had failed their mission, the city itself would be lost forever. That was not something that Lucien could allow. If it was possible, he would like to protect every occupant in this city, but he understood that the impossibility of this would not be something he could uphold. At the very least he could stop the bleeding and lead to the defeat of this “Shitiri” individual.
Although Lucien heard a name he recognized. The Millennium Pretender had assisted Lucien in a job he had taken a long time ago in the Americas and he had never truly paid him back for what he had given him. If the Millennium Pretender was involved, Lucien knew the group was in good hands. Perhaps he could contact the Millennium Pretender some other time after the meeting?
“I’d like to state I will give it my all to help with the ending of this crisis in a favorable fashion. I swear it upon my spear. But I wish to know, how long has this been going on; this whole Shitiri thing?” That was when the crow and lightning started happening. Lucien would be prepared and cast upon himself the Perception spell as to pick up on any sort of clues that could give him an advantage given the time, and a tracking spell to find anything around the area similar in composition to the crow.. But no one was stupid enough to attack a gathering and temporary headquarters for the Flame Haze, right? Even so, precaution is always a good think to have.
