@VitaVitaAR I thought I had described it as been made into a Divine Gear. Divine Gears are most noticeably recognized by their Light Engines right?

Should I give it a new name? That might make it easier.

I'm not really sure where I went wrong. But I can def switch it up and make it some kind of replica or something? Just thought since no one else had tried that I'd attempt it.

Okay, um...

Artifacts are supernatural items from myth. They typically have fallen out of use and weakened as a result. They are therefore converted into Divine Gear. These are really rare.

Divine Gear with mythological basis draw on that myth for power, but aren't the true thing. They're easier to obtain but won't have some of the more extreme abilities of the original item.

Regular Divine Gear are the most flexible since they can be anything, but they don't have any mythology power boost, so they need to be made very well in order to be as strong.

@VitaVitaAR Ahh, I get it. I understood the basics but I understand it even better now.

So while instead of having Ryui Bang, I'll modify it to being a weapon based around it. Created to bear a resemblance and hold a spirit akin to Sun Wukong. Basically the person who made it will be thinking of Sun Wukong when he made it.

I'm just assuming you don't want me to have the original Ryui Bang. So which part of my abilities was it that threw you off? If any had?

It's more for in-universe reasons. ^^;

If you have the actual artifact, you need a really good reason.

@VitaVitaAR Oh... well I based my character off having some correlation with Sun Wukong. Really that's the only reason I had for having it but I can just change it to a replica. I'll conjuror up a believable story for his birth parents having enough interest to want to give him a replica Ritual Tech made of Ryui Bang.

I don't wanna ruin any plans you got in store.

I'd like to remind people again that your Divine Gear does not have to be directly based off of mythology, by the way, and you nedd a REALLY good reason to have the genuine artifact. ^^;

"Based on artefact" is just to get a sort of... boost to some aspect by basing it on the properties of a weapon with a lot of magical history behind it... basically using a sort of template to make manufacture easier? Whilst most are just gonna be fancy weapons that use mana to do things... like shoot katana lasers, in the case of the GM's character. xD

@VitaVitaAR Well I've made it clear that Ryui Bang, now Innocent Ryui Bang ^-^ is a replica.

I've also taken away the ability to use it hands free. Don't know why really but it seemed appropriate. I kept everything else because I felt it was okay in the realms of Divine Gear. I feel like I grossly underestimated the real, legendary Ryui Bang. And if he ever obtained it, that it'd make him a demi-god or something lol.

Also I just wanted to be made clear, that I realized we didn't have to base them off mythology. I just kinda fell in love with the idea of having Jian-Yu based off of Sun Wukong.

Okay, um... let's see...

Alright, I would still like more Japanese students just because it IS a Japanese school with a shinto deity as it's patron, and there are Ritual Academies all over the world. It really does feel like I get more Japanese characters in stuff where I want more mixed nationalities for some reason. ^^; But I'm not going to make that a mark against the bio or anything, just want to make it clear.

I couldn't help but notice the stuff about Otsuki being disgraced, which um, it's... not really? It's more pent-up frustration by the faculty at getting on the brink of victory and failing every year. Tsukuyomi, too, is not exactly happy about this fact.

I didn't particularly mean for them to seem disgraced. Just for Jian-Yu's original school to be renowned too. Intially they would have preferred he be sent the weakest school in all of Japan but when Otsuki bidded in for him, considering their track record, they thought it'd bring out his will to win if he was an inch or so from it.

Didn't put it in the App because I felt I was already making it a tad longer than I wanted.

So am I accepted?

Well, that's... frustrating. Made a foreign student and more or less worked things around that, and from everything posted so far there's... one non-GM Japanese student, with everything else anyone has posted (including unfinished bios) being from another country. Well, Makoto's only half for... some reason. It feels like the time I put into trying to make that important is completely worthless because almost everyone's non-Japanese anyway.

Makoto's 3/4 Japanese though. Just wanted to give him a relation to the myth's original birthplace. Norse mythology right? So made him 1/4 Scandinavian.

But didn't think it was too important too.

I'll be honest and say I didn't consider how important it was to Rain's character fully previously, and I apologize.

In fact, going to say that we need to dial back on the non-Japanese students, mostly due to the importance of being a different ethnicity to Rain's character, and due to the fact that it doesn't really make sense for so many people to be sending students from different countries to Japan's Otsuki Academy. ^^;

By any chance would it be possible to have a Divine Gear function like a Sacrifice Cauldron (but superior cause ya know... artifacts and their iffy backgrounds) and be equipped onto a flying broom? I mean 1 of the 3 tools can be equipped onto the broom but can a Divine Gear function as a Sacrifice Cauldron for its 'mystical' abilities?

I did want to do something with Abe no Seimei and his papers that he wrote since we mostly supposed to be japanese but... that's too much creative ground for me to rein

Hmm... that's... a bit if a grey area.

Divine Gears strictly speaking run off their light engines, but you could equip one on a broom.
