JECHT RUTELLA || JULIAN RING April 28, 1581 139 years old
Jecht was born in England 1581 as a human named Julian Ring. His father was a nobleman and who married a women of wealth, though her family gained their fortune through hunting the supernatural. His father had no idea she was a hunter, and only found out when they were attacked when Julian was only a few months old. Julian's mother died because of a vampire wanting revenge on her family. After her death, Julian's father became a hunter obsessed with revenge against the vampire who stole her life. He trained Julian how to hunt and fight, but Julian hated it, and hardly took his father's teachings seriously. He went on hunts with him but it was always easy targets that would not put Julian in danger, so he never realized how dangerous the job could potentially become, and he loved it when his father would be gone for months. When he was 25, Julian was dragged along another mission with his father but it quickly spiraled out of control. The two of them were attacked by a nest of vampires and they hated Julian's father plus his mother's side of the family. Out of spite they turned Julian, the only heir his father and his mother's family had, into the creature they hated most: a vampire.
Julian was taken by the vampire clan to recover while his father was left behind to feel the despair of his only son being turned into a monster. Julian hated the vampires for ruining his life and he refused to willingly drink blood. Julian's sire was a German vampire named Wolfram von Jecht who refused to let him die and often forced him to drink blood. Two months later, Julian was still difficult to control and refusing to accept his vampirism but that all changed when his father found the clan. He thought his father was there to rescue him, but to his surprise his father tried to kill him. No matter how much he pleaded Julian's father called him a monster and refused to accept him as his son anymore. Julian was forced to fight his father when he attacked and, due to the lack of blood in his system, accidently lost control of himself and killed his father. When he came to his senses, he realized what he had done and fell into despair, only surviving because of the care of Wolfram.
Julian became mentally unstable and could barely control his vampirism at times to the point where the other vampires considered killing him because he was a threat, but Wolfram refused to let his child die, and the two of them fled the clan. Julian became more accepting of Wolfram afterwards and started seeing him as the father he should have had, not the vengeful killer his birth father had become. Julian called him "Jecht" because when they first met he refused to call him by his name due to hating Wolfram, but even through the hatred had subsided, Julian was too used to calling him Jecht and continued to do so. They traveled many places together, often travelling the sea on a small ship Wolfram acquired, and Julian was taught many things by him. He learned how to hunt humans for blood and to control his instincts, but also how to navigate a boat and to read the stars like a compass during their travels. Unfortunately, their adventures came to an end after five years, when hunters found them. Wolfram was killed while trying to buy time for Julian to escape to their boat, but there was a storm occurring, which made it difficult for Julian to steer it. The only good thing about the storm was that the hunters would not dare go after him. The storm caused the ship to wreck and Julian fell into the sea, only surviving because of his vampire healing abilities, and eventually washed up unconscious on a beach some time later.
He was found by a woman named Joyce Rutella, and when he woke up, he panicked and the first word out of his mouth was "Jecht". Joyce mistook this for Julian's name and he didn't bother to correct her, too distracted by the death of Wolfram to care. The kind woman allowed him to stay with her and wanting a new start in life, he posed as her son, from that moment on going by the name Jecht Rutella.
Jecht was happy to finally have a "mother" in his life. She was widowed and lived alone, so she was happy to have Jecht live with her. He took care of the manual labor around the house and insisted she relax. Joyce was a former dancer in the court ballet so she did not like sitting still, even in her old age, and for fun she taught Jecht some dance moves. Jecht took her teachings seriously and committed every dance step she taught him to memory, from time to time wondering if his birth mother would have taught him to dance too if she had lived. Jecht got a job and did his best to blend in with the humans, normally only feeding off travelers who would not stick around in town long enough for people to notice a vampire was among them. He worked at the port and though he longed to return to his life to the sea, he was happy living with Joyce, and stayed with her for years. When she passed away Jecht felt anguished over losing another important person in his life. He finally understood why most vampires stayed away from humans and realized why, even with their powerful strength and abilities, that so many of his kind believed they were cursed. He resolved to never again get attached to one and began seeing them only as food.
He grieved alone in their old house and only left once in awhile to feed, until he finally decided he could not stand living there any longer, and he ventured into town trying to figure out what to do. He found his answer when a group of human pirates arrived to pillage the village. Jecht expressed interest in joining them and although the captain was hesitant, a few of his men had died, so he reluctantly allowed Jecht to join. Jecht stayed with them for only a few hours because that was how long it took him to easily overpower the human captain. He bit into his neck and killed him by draining his body's blood, and threatened the rest of the crew into obeying him. Those who resisted were either thrown overboard or thrown into the cellar to be kept as food, while those who submitted were allowed to roam the ship as his temporary crew. He traveled to different ports in different countries, and within a month he met another vampire named Trixxtal.
He abandoned his human crew in favor of his new friend, Trixxtal, and the two of them decided to travel with each other instead. They went to many places, one of the most significant being a city of gold where they obtained magical items that granted them powers of water and lightning. They were mistaken as pirates in one town, but the idea intrigued them, and decided to become actual pirates. Over the next hundred years they gathered a pirate crew, a ship, stole treasure, attacked other crews, and many other things that gave them a fearsome reputation. Jecht and Trixxtal, the captain and first mate of the FlyingDeath, terrified people on both land and sea.
Jecht has stayed by Trixxtal's side but their relationship definitely has it's ups and downs. Jecht's pride starts a lot of arguments between them so they fight often, but when they aren't bickering, Jecht trusts the other vampire completely and will go to great lengths to make Trixxtal happy. Jecht cares for him deeply and sometimes treats him like a lover, despite never verbally expressing any romantic feelings. But his actions convey more than his silence does and Jecht sometimes joins Trixxtal in calling each other affectionate nicknames, has initiated kisses with him, and gave him a special pocketwatch as a gift.

Protettore is the young nephew of Trixxtal. He lived in a small Italian town with his vampire parents, though he was frightened to drink actual blood. His parents catered to his needs and hunted on their own and bottled blood to give to him. This caused Protettore's grandfather, who was a mafia don, to disown their family and force them to live in a small town, cutting them off financially. Despite that, they lived comfortably and happily with each other until their town was attacked by pirates.
Cepheus, or Cece, is the only human on the FlyingDeath who is an actual member of the crew and not stored away as food. Before he was a pirate, Cepheus worked for a man who had the idiotic idea to try to visit hell and Cepheus ended up caught in his mess. Cepheus accidently ended up in Hell by falling into a portal and came face to face with its guardian, Cerberus, but instead of killing him she took a liking to him. She cursed him into with the power of her Hellhounds and Cepheus gained the ability to transform into one at will. In exchange for this power, Cepheus was ordered to send her souls, which is done by killing someone in his hellhound form. Not having much choice, Cepheus returned to earth and lived on his own until he met Jecht.
He is an ordinary human when not in his other form, except for faster healing, so the pirate tried to capture him for food. Cepheus wasn't about to become enslaved and fought back by transforming, but he still lost to the vampire. But Jecht was intrigued by Cepheus and captured him, then offered him a place on the crew despite not being a vampire. Cepheus only accepted because he felt that it would be easier to complete Cerberus' demands, but was not very happy at first about becoming a pirate. Jecht forbid anybody from drinking Cepheus' blood against his will, and in exchange for that safety, Cepheus had to give Jecht his blood whenever he wanted. It didn't take long for Cepheus to become friends with Jecht, who kept his promises to him and treated him well, and they developed a strange bond where Cepheus could tell when Jecht was in need of his blood. Like a loyal dog, Cepheus has become extremely loyal to Jecht and besides Trixxtal, could be considered his best friend.
Videl is currently a member of the FlyingDeath and joined Jecht's crew quite some time ago. Before he turned into a vampire, he was a famous bullfighter in Spain. The Caballero family were well known in Spain for being the best bullfighters in all of Spain, and Videl had been on of their best. He had been tried as a child to follow in his family's footsteps, and by the time he was twenty, he was the best fighter, second only to his own father. When he wasn't in the ring, he was treated like a prince, since bullfighters were the celebrities of the village. Many people came from all over to watch his fights, and to offer their daughter's hands in marriage. But Videl did not want to get married and only had his mind set on getting stronger, so that one day, he could overtake his father.
When he was twenty-seven, well past the age of getting married, he met an alluring woman who approached him after a fight. She was elegant and captivating, and Videl fell instantly in love with her. After spending a few nights in her company, he even considered asking her to marry him. But before he did, she offered him a proposal instead. However, instead of marriage, she asked him if he wanted to get stronger. Of course Videl thought nothing out of the ordinary and instantly agreed, not knowing that this would seal his fate. His lover leaned in for a kiss, but instead of his lips, she went for his neck and bit into it.
Waking up days later, VIdel found himself stronger and more powerful than ever before. But with this strength, he also developed the taste for human blood. His lover explained the "dark gift" that she had given him, and surprisingly, Videl wasn't even mad. Eternal life did not scare him, and neither did the fact that he had to feed off of humans to live. All he was concerned with was showing off his new powers in the ring and showing everyone just how better he had gotten. As expected, Videl claimed the title of the best bullfighter in Spain and moved to the capital where he did fights for the King.
But after years of fighting, and having little to no competition, Videl soon grew bored and gave up bullfighting. His father was furious and threatened to disown him, but Videl didn't care. No longer craving strength, he wanted to go out and see the world. He and his lover cut their ties and went off to explore the world together. They stayed together for another ten years, long enough to hear about the passing of Videl's father, but they parted during their time in France. Now alone, and completely in control of his vampire side, Videl departed Europe and went off to explore the Americas.
Eventually he met Jecht and Trixxtal, the vampirates of the FlyingDeath. They were the first of his kind he had met since leaving his lover, and they were looking for others like them to join their crew. He saw this as another challenge and asked to join their crew. The tests that Jecht put him through were hard and life threatening, but with his strength and determination, Videl passed them all. He joined their crew and has been apart of it ever since.
As a human, he was strong and prided himself in his abilities. And now that he's a vampire, he's even stronger. Even by vampire standards Videl is strong and does all the physical duties aboard the FlyingDeath. The rest of the members rely on him for protection aswell.
Nemesis was born to rich parents who belonged to one of the isolated vampire clans that stay away from society. She grew up sheltered and pampered, never allowed to leave her extravagant home so she always felt curious about the world and an urge to go on an adventure. The first time she ever left home was when Jecht kidnapped her after hearing how much money and jewels the clan had. She was kept prisoner on the FlyingDeath until her parents agreed to pay the ransom the pirates demanded from them. However, Nemesis was quite fascinated by the pirates and felt intrigued at the thought of exploration on the seas. After the money was given to the crew, Jecht was going to dump her on land somewhere, but she begged him to let her join as a member of his crew because this was her chance to have the adventure she always wanted. Jecht thought it was hilarious that her parents gave him their treasure when the daughter they so desperately wanted back didn't even want to return, and he accepted, laughing as he set sail with a large sum of riches and an additional crew member. Nemesis has an independent and tough personality, and loves being a pirate. She uses an ancient artifact, a necklace, to command the element of fire like how Jecht and Trixxtal tap into their powers of lightning and water.
Mariemaia was the fifth born daughter to a wealthy English couple, and for the majority of her childhood, she was groomed into becoming the perfect wife that her father could marry off. However, as time passed and more of her sisters were being married off and no suitors came forward for Mariemaia, her father became desperate and married her off to the first man who looked her way. She was only seventeen when she married her twenty four year old husband, who owned a company that built houses all over England. Because of his work, Mariemaia was able to travel all across the country and experience things she never would have if she stayed in her small town. But it wasn't all good times since her husband was an angry and dangerous man who drank more than he slept and ended up taking the stress of his work life out on her. She thought about leaving him many times, but unable to go back home to her parents and no other place for her to go, she quickly gave up on that idea and resigned herself to a lifetime of misery.
Or, that is, until she and her husband were kidnapped by a gang of pirates during a visit to a port town. The gang threatened to kill Mariemaia unless her husband paid a large amount as ransom. However, not wanting to "waste" the money, he told them to simply kill her. Even for the gang of pirates that was harsh, and the Captain of the ship appeared once word spread across the ship that their plan backfired. It turned out that the captain of the ship was a woman and was disgusted by the treatment Mariemaia received from her husband and offered a way out for her, to join her crew. There was only one condition, however; to become a vampire. Mariemaia was surprised to discover that vampires were real, and that one was trying to save her life, and after a detailed explanation from the captain what vampires were really like, Mariemaia agreed. This was the escape she had always been hoping for, and was willing to face the consequences of turning into a vampire. The captain intended to kill her husband as punishment for his terrible attitude, but Mariemaia couldn't bring herself to stand by and do nothing, and pleaded for his life. The captain was moved by her dedication and agreed to drop him off at the next port, but ended up turning him into a vampire right before, and left him to fend for himself in an unfamiliar town.
From then on, Mariemaia became a member of the crew, though she was saved from any hard labor. The captain had taken a liking to her and treated her almost as a daughter. Instead of having her scrub the deck or replace the sails, she brought her into her cabin and overlooked maps with her, teaching her all about sailing and the ocean. Over the next two years she learned alot from the captain, both about how to handle a ship and about life in general. But before she knew it, the lessons had went from easy offhanded comments to explicit instruction. It began to feel like the captain was trying to mold her into her clone, and when Mariemaia finally confronted her about it, the captain revealed the truth. She had infact been shaping Mariemaia to take her place as the ship's captain.
Fenrir is the fearsome captain of the pirate ship SKULLKRAKEN. Like the FlytingDeath, the SKULLKRAKEN is a crew of supernatural beings, but unlike them, none of them are vampires. Fenrir was born a pureblooded werewolf and can transform into a wolf at any time he chooses. However, the full moon will always make him transform and during those nights, him and his crew return to NeverIsland, their own personal island, where they can be safe away from others. The rest of the crew who aren't werewolves stay on the ship.
Before becoming a pirate, he went by the name Fenrisúlfr and lived in a small village in the Scandinavian area made completely out of werewolves. They all lived as a pack and Fenrir was their alpha, the leader and protector over all of them. But all of that came crashing down when a band of hunters entered Fenrir's village while he was out hunting. By the time Fenrir heard their blood curdling screams, it was too late to save them and the entire village had been massacred, including Fenrir's lover, Freya and their infant daughter. Fenrir flew into a blind rage and killed the remaining hunters in his alpha form. But his anger didn't stop there and for the next two days, Fenrir went on a killing spree, terrorizing village after village, hoping that someone would be strong enough to kill him and release him from his pain. But there was no one who was strong enough to stop him and he was left to suffer through his loss. He returned to his village later on and burnt everything down, including his past. He disappeared for a while into the forests where he dealt with the loss of his family and pack alone and reemerged years later, assuming the new name of Fenrir. He stole a ship from the nearby dock and officially became a pirate of the seas.
The loss of his first pack has left a huge hole in his heart, so it is hard for him to get close to others, mostly from the fear of being unable to protect them. Still, Fenrir has managed to create a new pack that he calls his crew and cares for them as much as his last pact. Surprisingly enough, not all of his crew are werewolves and he will accept anyone who wants to serve in his crew, as long as they prove themselves worthy.
The true intentions behind him becoming a pirate are seven small spheres that, once bought together, summons a great dragon that can grant any wish. Fenrir is determined to bring back the lives of his deceased family, though most of his crew have no idea about any of it. The only other person that knows is Fenrir's first mate, Dromena.
A unique fairy who was permanently changed from her small form into the size of an average human by a witch named Morte Nott who wanted her for himself. He seduced her with a love potion and kept her by his side for years. His family had no idea she was a fairy or that she was bewitched and they loved Dromena because she was the first person Morte had ever taken an interest in, and he acted like a better person around her. Their son, Olivier, was born two years into the relationship which made Morte consider making Dromena his bride. But he knew that her love was not true and decided to release her from the love potions. Dromena was furious with him and decided to leave him, and Morte let her without fighting her decision. However, as she flew away some hunters were fascinated by her wings and decided to try to capture her. Morte noticed this and saved her before she could be captured or harm, but even after he killed the hunters, he succumbed to his wounds. Dromena could have used her fairy magic to try to heal him but, out of fear he would try to enslave her again some day, she let him die. After bringing his body to his innocent family, she said goodbye to them and Olivier, then left the country to start a new life.
She did not want to return to Fairy Island where she was born, so Dromena decided to travel the world. She explored many places and learned new things, but the most significant event was the people she met. Dromena met a werewolf named Fenrir and befriended him. She eventually joined his pirate crew as the First Mate and she is devoted to helping him on his quest to find the Dragon Spheres.
Regulus is a young pirate for Fenrir's crew. He is half demon half human, but he despises his human blood and takes pride in his demon lineage. In fact, he hates all humans in general, stemming from the abuse he received from humans during his childhood. His demon mother abandoned him to be raised by his human father, but the man wanted nothing to do with him, and sold him into slavery. Regulus suffered abuse by humans his entire childhood until he discovered his demonic abilities, which gave him the power to defend himself and fight back. At fifteen he eventually freed himself with his powers and went into hiding, isolating himself in an abandoned town. Two years later when he met Fenrir, a werewolf who entered the abandoned town in order to find a rare plant needed for some sort of strange ritual, Regulus guided him to the flower. Before the werewolf left Regulus asked to come with him and he ended up joining his pirate crew. Regulus has opened up after being surrounded by the crew and some of them give him nicknames like "Lil Reggie". He is friendly enough, but as soon as Regulus spots a human, the worst of his personality is brought out and he has to restrain himself from hurting them. He also has intense jealously towards any loving parents because he never had any of his own.
Gwendolyn is the youngest member aboard Fenrir's ship and uses light magic. A year ago, her and three of her friends all sold their souls to a "demon" in exchange for magical powers, but when her parents caught her summoning a magical creature, they kicked her out of their house. Along the way she met Fenrir, and feeling sorry for her, he took her aboard his ship. She isn't strong enough to use her magic for fighting, but she serves as the ship's healer.
Unbeknownst to her, she sold her soul to Kyuberos of Wiz using one of his time traveling Nyankos and the collection date is coming up soon.
Romulus is a werewolf and the younger, playful brother of the two who always finds himself getting into trouble. Remus, also a werewolf, is the older responsible brother who always has to drag Romulus out of whatever situation he got himself into.
The two have a strong bond and have lived together all of their lives. Their parents died when they were children so Remus raised his younger brother mostly on his own and the two of them wandered the land together for years, never staying in one place for too long and constantly struggling to find a permanent home. Remus had always been overprotective of Romulus because he was his only family left, so he felt suspicious of anyone who came near them and acted very distrustful towards people. They met Fenrir in a town after Romulus accidentally bumped into him while running and spilled the food he had been carrying all over him. Remus was instantly protective of his brother and was wary of Fenrir, because many rude people had picked fights over less things, and would have gladly confronted him with a fight if he had to. But thankfully, Fenrir was not too bothered. The brothers ran off, but kept coincidentally running into Fenrir during the man's stay in town. After some conversations, Remus and Romulus willingly became werewolves of his pack. Romulus accepted without thought because he thought it sounded amazing to become strong and he felt joining his pack would give him that family he craved, since he had no memory of their parents or other relatives. Remus was more hesitant, but refused to leave Romulus and decided that it would be good to have Fenrir as their protector. Both consider Fenrir as the one who saved their lives, neither under the delusion that they would have survived much longer on their own. Out of gratefulness, they follow their alpha obediently and are now pirates of Fenrir's crew.
A strong werewolf who is apart of the SKULLKRACKEN, Nicolao is one of Fenrir's betas. Before being changed by Fenrir, Nicolao lived a very simple life in the Spanish countryside. His father was a farmer and wanted Nicolao to take over for him when he got too old to work, but Nicolao's uncontrollable anger got in the way of farming. When his father was working hard in the fields, Nicolao was still in bed, hungover and sleeping off the night before. Eventually it got to be too much for his father and he passed away, leaving his farm to his only son. But Nicolao was not properly trained to be a farmer and later sold it for a sack of gold. With that money, Nicolao bought himself a house closer to the city and proceeded to drink himself into an early death.
It was during a bar fight that Nicolao met Fenrir. He was there with his betas, enjoying their own drinks, when one of them looked at Nicolao the wrong way and he immediately picked a fight with him. Little did Nicolao know that these were werewolves he was dealing with, but despite that, he managed to hold his own in a brawl with a beta. Impressed, Fenrir offered him a way to get stronger by joining their crew and becoming one of them. With nothing else to loose, Nicolao accepted and joined Fenrir in his search for the Dragon Spheres.
A fallen angel, Raphael is looking for revenge against the master of the Velvet Room, Milton. He detests Velvet Room guests, so when he finds out Fenrir is one, he joins with one of Fenrir's enemies: Jecht. He has lost a great deal of his powers, but he can still tap into his angelic healing, so he joins the FlyingDeath as the crew's new healer.
A very depressed vampire, he could not control himself when he first turned and ended up killing his best friend while he was blinded by bloodlust. He survived by instinct alone for a long time and was always too scared to feed on his own. It was not until he was found by Jecht that he was taught how to control his vampirism. He was persuaded to join the FlyingDeath and while he is glad that he won't accidently kill somebody anymore, Charlie has a very pessimistic view of life and he hates being forced to fight other pirates.
A seemingly ordinary parrot that hails from a tribe of birds who live in the rain forest. He traveled the skies looking for "his chosen one" who he would stay beside until his dying day and while flying over the sea he noticed a fight between a vampire and a wizard. Impressed with the vampire, he attacked the wizard, which bought enough time for the vampire to be saved. The vampire, Jecht, became his Chosen One and he was bestowed upon the name Dave.
Tegan is a human aboard Fenrir's ship, and like Gwendolyn he can preform magic, though his abilities are slightly better than hers. But unlike her, Tegan was born with his magical powers which he perfected over time. His father was a magic user, when he was alive, and always said that he came from a different world, one similar, but also very different than Earth. He never got the chance to explain this to Tegan however, because he ended up dying when Tegan was only eight years old. He was then raised by his mother, a mere human, but she helped him with his magic none the less. Between that time to the present, Tegan met with Fenrir and became a pirate. It is unknown to everyone how they met and how Fenrir managed to convince him to join his crew, but he just showed up one day and everyone just accepted it. He is more humane than the other members on the ship and will hesitate before hurting someone, the complete opposite of his captain. Because of this, he is charged with treating their captives and making sure that they live so that they can be taken to Never Island.
