So... by pure coincidence, I actually managed to gather the exact song right for that moment. Arirang is used to convey the feeling of "han", the collective feeling of oppression and isolation in the face of overwhelming odds.
Arirang describes hard times and is a connecting bond between Koreans all over the world...
So yeah... in a happy accident, I picked the perfect song that my people would express and sing at such a moment.
