Are they instantly killed by the sun? Is it posible for someone who was closely tied to the sun in life to be resistant to its effects after death?

They can use magic. A limb will grow back pretty quickly. That one I'm... not sure about. They can survive in the sun but it hurts and generally keeping covered is a good idea. No.
