Why is Liam teaching here? Why is anyone working really? He needed a job to support his son, and Caelbury Academy is the finest institute to work at. You’d have to be an idiot to turn down a job offer from Caelbury.
Personality: If you met Liam one year ago, you would’ve seen a normal family man living in a suburban home with his wife and son. Loving, loyal and laughing all the time, but then the worst thing that could have happened did happen Liam’s wife suddenly passed away.
It was as if something broke inside of Liam, everything was turned upside down. Liam began to close himself of from family and friends; he even became distant with his son.
Nowadays Liam is cold and distant most of the time, since he is not ready to open up to someone yet he opts for not even let anybody close to him. But now and again his old self shines through especially when he laughs.
He is extremely empathic, whenever people come to him with their problems he always finds a way to put himself in their position and usually he knows how to fix it.
History: Liam’s childhood was one you could consider utterly normal, he is the only child of Victor and Marie Matthews. Growing up Liam was always loved and he was always close with both of his parents. Since Liam was an only child he always wanted to have a big family and have the same bond with his children that his father had with him.
Luckily this plan seemed very plausible when he met Molly in their senior year in high school. It was love at first sight for both of them and they were inseparable, even though they went to separate universities their love for each other proved strong enough and they survived the 4 years. The couple took this as a sign and got married not long after they graduated. For their honeymoon Molly and Liam decided to explore the world and went on a long trip across Southeast Asia.
When they came home Liam was lucky enough to get a teaching job almost directly at a high school close to where they lived. Soon their little bundle of joy arrived, Liam’s pride and joy, his son Nathan. He was living the dream, married with his high school sweetheart, family life on the way and living in a nice neighborhood.
Then tragedy arrived, like out of nowhere during a routine checkup Molly received the news that she had pancreatic cancer. Just as quick as they got the news, Molly’s health deteriorated and after 5 months of struggling with chemotherapy Molly passed away.
Liam was broken, he was empty a shell of a man. Everything he once cared about was thrown out of the window and he shut himself inside of his house. He even quit his job and moved away because everything reminded him of Molly; he couldn’t stand it so he moved back to his parents with his son.
Liam has spent the last years since his wife died laying on the sofa of his childhood home doing nothing but wallow in despair. During the summer his parents had enough and made him get his life together again. As something handed to him by angels, the job offer from Caelbury arrived and Liam took it as a sign that he could push through this depression and start a new life for him and his son.
