As he did, thoughts of their escape tomorrow crossed his mind. He tried to dismiss them, but he couldn't - they just imbued him with hope that was addictive.

Aya waved back, filled with new hope. She could hardly contain herself, she was so happy. She hummed and began chopping up the watermelon for everyone, then saw Eleanor.

Eleanor turns to face Aya and smiles "Awesome, but... What did you do to get it?" She knew what extent people Aya went to in the past to get things to sustain a happy family.

Aya looked down. "Nothing, just enjoy it, alright?" she smiled at her sheepishly.

Aya simply smiled. "No, really, Lord Ferid took pity on us and gave it to me." She continued cutting it.

Valerian would return having completed his supposed matters. He'd interrupt Aya and Eleanor's conversation with a simple, "Yo."
Of course, he knew about Aya's situation with Ferid apparently more than Ellie did, and he surmised it would be better to keep it that way.

"Did you guys here about the vampire that was murdered? Rumours say it was mutiny."

Aya shook her head. "No...I had no idea." She tilted her head, then accidentally cut her finger with the knife. "ouch!" she said sucking on her finger.

"Idiot. I'll go get a plaster. Stay indoors - you know what vampires are like. One sniff of the blood and they'll want to drain you dry. Eleanor, make sure she stays inside." Valerian would then head upstairs to go get a plaster.

She starts to panic a bit and slaps Aya across the face "You will get Aids!" She looks around for a solution to the problem. She grabs some oranges and sighs "Im sorry, this is going to sting" She takes the finger and stabs it in the oranges and symbols you to be quiet

Aya held her cheek with her other hand. When she shoved her finger into the orange she hissed but otherwise stayed quiet. "Sucking on my bleeding finger won't give me AIDS, it's sharing blood that'll do it..."

Valerian would subsequently return and notice the orange. "Good thinking, Ellie. Now, idiot Aya, take the orange off, wash the finger and put this plaster over it. Make sure you do it securely or else the vampires will go after you." He handed her a plaster.

Aya went red and she took the orange off, then washed the cut thoroughly, mumbling to herself. She was a little bit of a ditz and had a short attention span. Because of this she was prone to getting hurt. But she meant well. She put the plaster on and she muttered, "Idiot Aya? More like idiot Valerian, going into nature when you know full well there could be vampires out there..."

"So. I'll continue about the vampire they found dead. He looked really young. But you couldn't tell that when he was torn to pieces; heck they could never recover from that much abuse. His head was missing so they could not work out who he was, but the odd thing is he was drained dry of his blood."

"Drained dry?" Aya asked, getting serious again. "What do they think did it?"

"Some rumours say that it was another vampire. But the more likely result was a supposed failed experiment - some say a human and others say a vampire. My bets are it was a failed experiment on another vampire. Since I saw it happen."

Aya thought. "Weird...Very weird..." She said and she looked at him. "That would explain some things..." She put the cut up watermelon into bowls for everyone and she offered a bowl to Valerian. "There's no blood on it, I swear."

"Yup, it is weird. I think we should just forget about it, though. Hopefully doesn't concern us if something is hunting vampires. Could be helpful, to be perfectly honest." He shook his head. "No thanks. I'm not hungry. You should go give some to the other orphans, though."

Aya called for the other orphans to come get their treats. The kids seemed excited about this. They ate their watermelons happily. Aya smiled at Valerian. "There's plenty if you get hungry."

Ferid summoned Devon and he waited for him to get there. He knew Aya was planning something and he wanted to be ready for it.
