Stayed up to watch the referendum results. Currently sitting at 52/48 in favour of leaving the EU, or a 1 million vote in favour of the Leave campaign, with only 40 polling areas left to announce their results.

Personally, this is... not what I was expecting from this referendum. I suspected it would be close but never that Leave would prevail. Certainly an interesting development.

Old people are more likely to vote, and the outers has always been more passionate. Sadly this has always been a very real possibility. This makes me feel kind of sick to be honest.

It's hard to overstate the global importance of this result, on an entirely unpartisan and even apolitical level. The citizens of a country, against the odds and against the recommendation of their own government, of foreign governments, and of multi-millionaire financiers and celebrities, have decided upon a course of action that they themselves have determined is in their own best interests. This is fantastic news for grassroots politics internationally, and frankly for democracy in general.

When should I expect news on the renewal of war against France to win back those hot Plantagenet claims? What about the restoration of the British Raj? New empire when?

This could cause a lot of madness in the upcoming years/decades. Scotland going for independence again (then maybe rejoining the EU after), Ireland uniting, Wales getting eaten by England... It was a historic move for sure and we will have to see its results for ourselves.

Though looking at these voting statistics, it looks like most who voted for leaving were from rural England and older people (above 50). The youth and the big cities apparently wanted to remain for the most part. I wonder, how much did the older generation screw over the newer with this...?

We'll see what happens. The Bloomberg predicting global recession makes me uncomfortable, but hopefully that is all panic and everything returns to normal soon enough.

all these people on the internet predicting what parts of the UK are going to leave is pretty boss though. personally i want to see an independent Cornwall by 2020

I think they need to fabricate some new claims, their old one expired a long time ago. Hopefully the espionage tree will Halp them with this given how Paradox changed that system.

Donald Trump is a theoretical future problem.

A Brexit Recession would be a more immediate problem. Ironically enough, one that might help produce a Trump Presidency.
