GOTHAM CITY REBORN

It all began the day that Batman was reported dead at the hands of an enemy of the Justice League, a demon called Neron. Crime boomed again in the darkened city, and Batman's two most trusted allies were left to take care of Wayne Enterprises and the city itself. Dick Grayson saw to it that the world still believed Bruce Wayne was alive. Using some of the same make-up that went into the creation of Clayface, Grayson assumed the identity of Bruce Wayne with the help of Alfred and Bruce's corporate friend Lucius Fox. It was more work than the former sidekick ever imagined, and with all the gossip on Wayne in the tabloids Dick managed to be a better billionaire playboy philanthropist than even Bruce in his younger years. He even put on an additional thirty pounds of muscle to look the part. Barbara Gordon on the other hand, had the weight of the city resting on her shoulders...

Grayson had things covered making sure the world believed Bruce was still alive. Batman's contingency plan for Batgirl however had her taking more of a role in protecting the streets at night. Babs didn't think 'Batgirl' was the answer. When Grayson was a kid and needed help when Batman wasn't around he formed the Titans. So the idea in Barbara's mind was to recruit other heroes in the fight to protect the city. Bruce's contingency plan included a new base of operations, 'the Belfry' which was cloaked and right in the heart of the city. Batgirl wasn't the answer though. Babs spent the next two nights modifying gear, and even dying her hair black, and rechristened herself as Batwoman. What other would be heroes and possible metahumans will she meet and ally herself with? What new threats await Batwoman and the new champions of Gotham?

Gotham, 11:37 pm...

"I can't believe it..." J said, removing his mask as his jaw hit the floor.

Batwoman, as Babs called herself now, had brought the young would be hero to her new lair. Large bell raised high above them, the thing was solid brass and probably weighed over a ton. The hidden HQ was in the top of an old abandoned church in Midtown. The Gotham division of STAR Labs was less than a mile away as was Gotham General Hospital. For Bruce to leave something like this to Barbara was incredible. Lightning and thunder boomed outside of the large windows looking out at the city, cloaked from the outside so that everyone looking in simply saw an old rundown church bell.

"..it looked so different from the outside!" J continued following Batwoman in and noticing her old Batgirl suit as well as Grayson's first Robin uniform was under glass on mannequins.

"I'm pretty good on a computer, but you and that glove take the cake, Josiah." Batwoman said sternly putting on her best serious face to be more like Bruce had been as Batman, "I'd be willing to help train you more for the field if you can navigate me and some friends behind some locked doors..." Babs continued.

"How could anybody say no to that?!?" J responded putting his mask back on looking across the computers and tech at his fingertips, "Tell me one thing though..."

Batwoman looked with a raised eyebrow under her mask.

"If you're Batgirl in a new suit you can turn off the voice modulator. Builds almost identical, but I'd have to see your moves to be sure.." Overwatch began before Babs spun on the ground tripping the young man.

"You didn't have to use me as a test dummy, but yeah that's gotta be you. You mentioned 'friends' earlier...?" the young black and blue clad hero inquired.

"You're not the first person I've asked to help me defend Gotham. There's an enemy of Batman's running around pretending to be Batman and I intend to track him down..."

Another young ally stepped from behind a wall leading to another wing of the HQ.

G O T H A M C I T Y - D E V I L ' S S Q U A R E

The sound of sirens seemed to have become Gotham's steady backdrop since the disappearance of the Batman. With the Bat gone, numerous criminals had managed to evade the police, worst still several of Batman's most dangerous rogues had managed to escape their holdings. Among these escapees was the father of Stephanie Brown, Arthur Brown or as he was better known to the people of Gotham, the Cluemaster.

Arthur had been in and out of prison for most of Stephanie's life meaning the girl barely knew her father. What she did know however was that her father had been a game show host at one point before the network pulled his show leading to Arthur and Krystal - Stephanie's mother - living in one of the poorer regions of Gotham. Posessing a genius intellect, Arthur found a way onto Gotham's local TV Station and made a wager on air that he could deduce the identity of the Batman,

Sadly that was only the first of Arthur's bad decisions.

Realizing that he would never deduce the Batman's identity through legal means, Arthur began to hire petty criminals to lure the Dark Knight out. It became something of a game for Arthur who began to leave clues for the so-called World's Greatest Detective. Drawn into his own game, it was soon Arthur leaving the clues for the Batman as he began to lead the crimes personally.

This only sped up his capture, as Arthur soon found himself lounging behind the bars of Blackgate Penitentiary. It was here that Arthur soon met a man by the name of Eddie Nashton. A thin and wirey man, Eddie didn't seem to pose much of a threat to Arthur but harboured a strong dislike for the other man. It didn't take long for Arthur to deduce that Eddie was in fact the infamous Riddler. By leaving direct clues for the Bat, Arthur had tarnished Eddie's gimmick, ruined the game.

And thus a bitter rivalry was formed.

A rivalry that was very clearly on display as clues and riddles alike plagued Devil's Square. Wind blew a few loose strands of Steph's blonde hair as she held her hood tightly over her concealed face. Flourescent question marks were sprayed on the aging brick wall as last week's papers rolled back with the cold gust. Laughter echoed down a nearby alley as an ignorant couple strolled into Devil's Square. Within seconds the resounding sound of metal slapping against flesh rolled through the air as five men in green jackets cornered the couple.

"Well howdy-ho, what do we have here?" Came the call of the first man as the group chuckled.

"Looks like a couple of love birds out for a walk." Came a second voice as the girl screamed. Her arms seized from behind as her boyfriend grunted from a fist to the gut.

"Young and in love, bet they'd like to play a game!" Called a third as he snicked, running a hand up the woman's bare leg as she cried in protest.

"Answer our riddle and you'll be on your merry way, answer incorrectly and we'll play a different kind of game." The fourth sung with a wicked smile and eerie tone.

"What occurs once in every minute, twice in every moment, but never in a thousand years?" Asked the fifth with a wide smile. The woman's eyes opened wide as she went to answer before a hand was shoved over her mouth.

"Let the gentleman tend to his damsel." The man whispered in the woman's ear as the male scrambled for an answer.

"The let-" His answer was cut off as the hook of a crow bar was thrust into his gut.

"Time's up!" Yelled the second thug with cruel glee. "Restrain him!"

"Hey bozos!" Steph's voice called, echoing through the alley. "Your turn!" The Spoiler yelled as she landed, her staff in hand. "What's green at nine, purple at ten and black and blue in the morning."

A smile crossed her face beneath her mask. "Your asses after I hand them to you."

Good one Steph. She groaned inwardly. Perhaps this was why Batman was the strong and silent type.

The ends of her staff became a blur of motion as Steph loosed her triple staff. The crack of several fingers breaking echoed in her ear as one of the Riddler's goons foolishly tried to grab at the staff. Bringing the weapon around, she impacted the other end with the back of his skull dropping the man to the ground. Hands wrapped around her waist as Steph found herself hoisted into the air. With a grunt, she raised her knees to her chest before heaving them back hard, winding the man holding her as she hit the ground with a role. Reattaching the staff together, Steph delivered a quick jab to the bottom of the man's chin before vaulting over he man's head and delivering a kick to the base of the thug's spine.

Two down, three to go.

A sudden flash followed by a loud bang caught Steph off guard as she dropped the ground, the gunshot reverberating through her skull as searing pain bit through her shoulder.

Keep it together Steph, it's only a graze.

She felt like she was going to vomit. Her vision was alternating between bursts of colour and blinding darkness.

Stupid move Steph, stupid. Should have checked for a gun. Her inner voice was screaming, or maybe it was the woman she was 'rescuing'. Either way this was not Stephanie Brown's finest moment.

Englad, Hutchinson Residence, a few hours earlier...

"I look like one of those posh kids from that serial in the telly..." Colton said as he stood before the mirror of his room, his voice hiding very little of the disdain he felt concerning his current way of clothing. How she even managed to convince him to put on a blazer was the thing that he still could not believe even when watching his own reflection.

"Its called being presentable Colton. I mean, you are the only overseas student to receive the Martha Wayne Scholarship and if I were in your shoes, I would be proud and looking like it." a woman with chestnut-red hair replied as she uploaded the few last details from her computer to a pad near her. Ah, yes the scholarship given to him by Bruce Wayne, the snob of Gotham. Perhaps it would be an achievement...if Colton had actually applied on his own knowledge.

"I still don't get it, why should I leave? How will you patrol on your own without me having your back, or what if your Bat-friends don't like me. If you don't want me around you should just tell me straight away..." he could seriously rant on and on but Beryl gave him a serious look, only to be broken by her own laughter.

"Oh, are you really getting homesick already?" she said with a chirp as she approached her sidekick, the notepad "Say that this is like a bootcamp for superheroes, and believe me, one you meet the Bat-Clan you will not want to leave that place. Trust me, that's how I felt everytime that Cyril and I went there..." she then handed him the notepad, which Colton looked over before giving his mentor a look of question.

"Besides, Babs asked me to give you a bit of a challenge."

"Rain, Lightning and now a Belltower. Now Gotham could be just like my alley..." a voice with a clear Bitish accent sounded as Colton emerged from behind the wall leading to the eastern wing of the HQ, clad in his full Squire paraphernalia. As soon as he walked out of the Airport, he dumped his blazer and button up shirt into the nearest dumpster and took it to the roofs. The pattern encryption Knight downloaded into his notepad was going to be the map that would lead him to a location simply called BELLFRY, and it nearly took him the entire afternoon to decode it.

"And is so much bigger than her garage. Perhaps I should have Hank set us up a place like this in Big Ben..." Colton was in such awe of his surrounding that he almost forgot to notice the other two suited figures in the room.

"Oh, you must be the Batwoman and..." he looked at the young man with the mechanical gauntlet on his arm "Isn't Robin supposed to wear yellow?"

The soft sound of water rushing against concrete would be heard through the nearly empty bridge. The streets had maybe ten cars speeding home, or where ever else they had to go; or maybe it had just been a weird time of night. After all, who would want to be out after the rise in villains as of late. The air seemed still yet only for a moment, as if in a blink of an eye a woman had been laying on the air, one of her abilities keeping her afloat. Her eyes would widen in excitement, as curiosity would flicker to life in her amber orbs, she’d stare too the dancing waters before slowly looking up too the city before her.

So this has been Gotham City.

The girl would be dressed in purple, down too her lilac colored hair that seemed too fall wildly in front of her face as she would roll onto her back, her eyes falling upon the city scape in front of her. She had never been too a city in real life- she had just seen them on her television. The fact that the girl had been dressed in all purple and floating wasn’t the oddest feature too this woman. On top of her head had been two feline like ears, and they seemed too hear just as well, flickering too the different sounds that had been happening in Gotham.

Alot of it was various crimes.

The long furred tail would sway softly left and right, as it would be the same shade of purple her hair had been, Well, she hadn’t been in the city yet. She would slowly turn too her feet before allowing herself too drop ontop of the bridge’s surface. Staring down too the cars below, she’d briskly walk off, and she’d disappear as she’d drop.

No doubt someone would have seen it, she wanted too freak someone out. After all, who would believe someone calling in about a purple cat girl falling from the bridge, what was this some sort of weird anime? She’d appear on top of another building, this time far deeper into Gotham; she could hear the city’s pain. Pausing she would eye up the building a mischevious glint in her eye. This was an interesting looking building, she’d admire it’s structure, and would before cracking her neck.

Oh yes, this city would be fun. It was a shame she hadn’t gotten the chance too meet the vampire of Gotham -oh wait, that wasn’t his name. She’d pause before slowly allowing herself too float down. Of course she didn’t mind making a scene. Oh yes, it was the Manbat!...no, that didn’t sound right either. Her feet would softly land on the ground, she’d land in the center of the road without a worry of fear, at the moment the streets seemed rather ghostly, no sound of a car puttering near.

“That’s right, Batman.” She’d snap her fingers at her words.

Oh, sweet, sweet baby Eureka! That would have bothered her [i]forever]/i]. Looking around with an amused look on her face she'd tilt her head. There was no sleep for the wicked after all, but she doubted only angels resided in Gotham City- not that she had been searching out trouble. No, the woman- Khit had just enjoyed a little spice in ones life. Chaos had been healthy for some in small portions, atleast.. for her, kept her blood rushing.

Her ears would twitch slightly. Although maybe she could make a sport out of stealing again, she hadn't gotten too be her high score yet.

With headphones blasting music into his ears, Tyrus Lee stared ahead daydreaming as his hands moved in front of him in the kitchen sink. Every night since the reopening of the family restaurant, the young Korean teenager had found himself here cleaning dishes, as well as generally having a terrible time. Tonight was no exception. The only conceivable difference was that Tyrus had even more motive to leave. His phone, located on the kitchen counter next to him, had been buzzing away all night. He knew exactly who it was. The name had been flashing all over the screen; R-iko.

Riko Sheriden was a member of Gotham’s newly formed Robin Gang; a ragtag army of likeminded teenagers with a love for the Batman and dreams of becoming his official sidekick. The same could be said for Tyrus, however recently he had been distancing himself from the group. Sure he loved being a part of a team and they were all a great bunch of guys, but since finding new equipment and “going legit”, he felt as if it was a good time to branch out on his own. Riko was fully aware of this, which made the increasing number of messages from her even more worrying.

Something was definitely happening. Something bad.

Glancing across the dimly lit kitchen, Tyrus checked to see if the coast was clear. Fortunately his dad was out front and his mom was busy chopping up ingredients. Now was as good a chance as any to check what was going on. Cleaning his hands, he shot it across the counter towards his phone. He had barely unlocked it however when a shrill voice called out behind him.

“Tyrus Lee, get back to work!” His mother shouted angrily, half pointing her chopping knife towards him as she did so.

All he could do was groan. Damn mom radar!

C’mon mom! Place is practically empty.” He turned as he spoke, gesturing through the kitchen door out into the restaurant where the place was deserted albeit one elderly woman.

“We’re still open so you still need to wash the dishes!” She ordered loudly as she went back to cutting up an assorted pile of vegetables. “I want those plates so spotless you can see your own reflection!”

Pretty sure if they reflect this face they’ll crack” Tyrus mumbled under his breath in response as he gave it another wipe with the soapy dishcloth. Despite the quietness of his remark however, it met his mother’s ears, evident by the pair of arm smothering him from behind.

“Aww what are you saying, Ty Ty?” She said childishly between the kisses. “My little soldier is beautiful!”

Urgh, mom!” Tyrus groaned as he squirmed out of his mother’s embrace. “Ge’off!

“Fine!” She surrendered, her voice returning to its normal motherly tone of frustration. She threw up her hand into the air as she backed away, gesturing towards the door. “Go study. Just make sure you remember who cleaned your diapers all those years ago!”

Preferring to ignore her last remark, Tyrus simply sighed a sigh of relief. After dropping his plate into the bubbly depths of the sink and throwing both his apron and dishcloth onto a pile of dirty cloths, Tyrus gave his mother a quick mocking wave before scurrying away as fast as he could. As soon as he was out of the kitchen and in the stairwell leading to their apartment above the restaurant, Tyrus whipped back out the phone. He stopped in his tracks, half way up the stairs, as he began to read Riko’s various messages, his eyes widening.

Looks like this would be a job for Robin!

Robin knew he had arrived in Devil’s Square as soon as he laid eyes upon the illuminous green question marks that lined the walls. Riko definitely hadn’t been kidding about the severity of things. Despite the Riddler’s overly egotistical and flamboyant nature, Tyrus knew he mustn’t be fooled. The guy was bad news, and probably as dangerous as they come. However Tyrus couldn’t really say the same thing about this Cluemaster. Truth be told, the young vigilante had never even heard of him. Still, he needed to keep his wits about him and stay focused. Besides;

Clues? Riddles? What’s the difference really? To Tyrus they were both one thing; the enemy.

That being said, the thought of going up against someone like the Riddler did send a shiver down Tyrus’ spine. The psychopath had gone up against the Batman himself after all, and by the sounds of it, even he struggled against him. So what chance did he have? What match was some little Korean punk playing dress up against a real supervillain? No. Tyrus shook his head at that final question. What chance does he have? He’s the God Damn Robin! He has every chance!

That was when the sound of a gunshot ripped through the air around him.

His eyes dart around for the source of the commotion at once, before freezing on a small alleyway to his right where the sound of shouting could be heard.

Gritting his teeth, he lashed his arm out forwards, shooting out one end of his billy club. The metal pole flew along the rooftops, before clattering around the railings at the top of a fire escape. Giving the metallic coil a short tug, Robin darted forward off of the top of the room. At once he began to fall, causing Tyrus’ eyes to snap shut. Then finally, the pull of the rope came, and he found himself propelled upwards into the air. At once his eyes shot back open and a smile flashed across his face. Leaning to the right, Tyrus found himself turning in the air, swinging around on the wire straight towards the alleyway.

As he neared both the alleyway and the ground, Tyrus got a brief glimpse at the situation at hand, taking in both the ugly looking thugs, as well as the purple clad woman. Spotting the one wielding the gun, Tyrus clicked the billy club’s switch, causing the club attached to the fire escape to retract back towards him. Now free falling from just a few metres in the air, Tyrus dived straight towards him.

The sight of a young child flying towards him was enough to confuse the man and stop him from firing. The impact the enough to knock him to the floor, with Robin’s feet landing firmly on his stomach. Unfortunately the landing certainly wasn’t a smooth one, causing Tyrus himself to land hard on the floor too. Luckily the impact only left him with something to groan about rather than a serious injury.

Andrew Garfield really made this seem easy!” He apologised as he stumbled onto his feet, only to find one of the other green covered goon’s fists flying towards his face.

Falling backwards slightly, Robin found his grip and readied himself besides the fellow vigilante, trying to ignore the ever increasing pain that was now encompassing his right cheek.

That your best shot, man?” He jested, swinging his now fully connected bill club around in his hand. “Because I’d seriously like to see you make another!

RASCAL & PROCYON

EZEKIEL & CLINTON

It was nighttime, almost midnight to be exact. Ah yes, the sky was brightly lit up by beautiful stars, there were billboards giving light to the streets, a slight breeze coming in. It was a beautiful night indeed, the kind of night you’d love to take your date out to stargaze or something; One of those romantic cliches.

“AAAAH!”
Fwip!

Oh-- And crooks ran rampant ever since the death of a very important hero who ruled over Gotham. So while the night was beautiful, Gotham and it’s streets weren’t as pretty--In fact it was even uglier than before. And the word ‘pretty’? That word didn’t exist in the streets of Gotham. Gotham was always ugly--And got even uglier when there was no control against the villains and crooks. Without a hero to keep villains and crooks in check, it simply got even more uglier and rubbish piled up by the second with the big bat dead. And while more rubbish piled up, Let's not forget the fact that there was also an increase in more reckless people too. The foolish ones who donned a towel as a cape and claimed ‘Hero’, or even an ordinary robin or bat-related shirt and screamed ‘Hero’.

Very helpful, Very scary...

“The hell was that?”

A male who was hanging at the edge of the building, stared intently up at the other male before him.C’mon man… he uttered, Holding a thug donned in green and purple by an ankle--Who was thrown off the ledge rather recklessly by his brother. The man pleaded for his life, urinating his pants right on scene as Clint fidgeted in disgust.

“Get over it.” Ezekiel scoffed, crouching low as a crescendo of footsteps approached their way. “Just because you have your morals doesn’t mean I have to believe in them.” added the muscular blonde blatantly before he quickly turned around and heard shouting. “He just pissed, dude… Pretty grossed out now.” grunted Clinton, the stench reaching to him. “Well not my problem, You wanted to save him; So don’t complain.” responded Ezekiel with a shrug.

“OH! IT’S THAT RACCOON KID!” A thug said, before they all obnoxiously laughed. “Long time no see!” Another commented. “How ya been?” the first thug asked. The older twin balled his hands into fists. “Playing dirty. Holding grudges. The usual really.” He gritted his teeth as the thugs stopped and stared more intently. Pretty soon, ‘Raccoon kid’ took a step back and picked up a crowbar in his hand.

A sly grin was apparent on his face as he spun the crowbar between his fingers and instead of giving one thug a whack, he tossed it straight into his shoulder like a javelin before the other two looked at him in surprise.

“Well don’t just stand there! Defend yourself!” He shouted, drop kicking the crowbar deeper into the shoulder of the man before performing a backflip and kicking the other two thugs. Ezekiel crouched again with apparent amusement as he smirked and one of the two pulled out a knife, ready to fight as he ran towards Ezekiel. Soon, his brother finally joined--Jumping over Ezekiel to join the battle. “Took ya long enough--” Zeke chuckled.

“AUGH!” Clinton’s foot collided with the guy’s groins as he dropped his knife. The younger male was quick, and snatching the knife before his brutish brother could, he uppercutted the second man before the third tackled Clinton down, keeping him in a choke hold. Being caught completely off guard, the knife only a few inches from them--The guy immediately grabbed the knife and held it to Clinton’s neck.

“Who knew it was two! TWO TWERPS!” snorted the thug. Ezekiel, nonchalant at the present situation before him saw the two thugs holding his brother hostage and scoffed. Fine. he said, hands up in the air and behind his head. “What?” Growled the thug, looking at his partner before the partner nodded towards Ezekiel’s way. As soon as Ezekiel was approached by the second thug, Clinton was positioned to stand by the third and both twins were captured.

“Wait till Ol’ Donnie gets a look at this!”
“No kiddin’!”

Before the twins knew it, everything blacked out.

Totally worth it.

All part of the plan.

Gotham City - Police Station

Honestly, tonight was like any night in Gotham City in which the police station was always busy with the coming and going of numerous officers going in and out as reports were being relayed to them. It again would be the same thing that was happening just a different day really.

With the amount of work which has been stacking up had been due to the spike in crime once again as it rosed through the roof in the city, everyone was busy and Kyle was no exception to the work. However, one couldn't blame him for trying to set up a good game of cards when he was on his break but it was impossible when everyone whom you're trying to play with leaves. It was finally the last straw when the last person from his table had to apologize before they had to leave, he released a sigh as he gathered his cards from the table. Giving up on the futility of the situation, he gave up as he shuffled the deck several times before he tapped the deck onto the table, making a noticeable sound from the metal corners of the cards before they were put away into its clear plastic case. He guessed a game of cards could be saved for another time if there would be another one.

" Well... This sucks " He said to himself as he stood up from his chair with a sigh as played with a single card on the table, spinning it on its metal edge while looking around the station. He had already finished his reports from earlier today along with the two other cases he visited in the last few hours of overtime as one was delegated to him once there were no more hands on deck and another required another officer due to a sticky situation. It was a busy night, as he watched what seemed like several street thugs being escorted through the station to be put in the cells which were starting to reach the limit of maximum capacity. They would soon have to transfer those who they catch to the other stations which had room to hold these criminals.

Being a police officer was honestly a stressful job, which oftentimes made him question why the hell did he want to become a cop in the first place but he wasn't granted the time to permit such useless thinking. As he finally planned to check himself out after a decent three hours of additional work at the station stacked on top of his normal schedule but for Kyle, work never seems to stop really at the most inconvenient of times. He was abruptly stopped by Vince and Jackie which he identified by their name tags as they explained the situation to him about a call they received about the situation. He nodded in confirmation on the details of the report as he left for Devil's Square where the complaint was issued along with some odd details, reviewing what he heard from the two officers earlier in his head as he drove to the scene...

Gotham City - Devil's Square

Arriving on the scene, what it looked like was just a few members of a gang from the details given to him as the caller had reported noises coming from outside but were too afraid to check who or what was causing the ruckus. A reasonable reaction which would've only invited the attention of someone to check up on the place but the mentioning of graffiti being noticeably littered around the place. Along with him on route to the place, more complaints of graffiti at the same spot were being relayed to him as he wondered how severe it was going to be if those many people were calling.

Stepping out of his vehicle he glanced around the place as it was hard not to notice the luminous green question marks all over the place, pulling out his gun just in case as one could never be too careful. His investigation of the place had not even started before the sound of gunfire echoed through the silence, with his full attention now being used if it wasn't before. He began his careful and cautious walk toward the general origin of the noise, with his ears entirely focused on hearing anything. Then there it was, a metallic 'clank' echoed which came from the front of Kyle as he approached the corner of an alleyway carefully as the grunt of someone could be heard shortly before something landed on the ground with another grunt to follow.

Peering over the corner and into the dimly lit alleyway was an estimation of seven people, maybe eight? As it seems like everything was divided into three noticeable groups, those who wore green which he assumed did the tagging and those who didn't wear green which he suspected were vigilantes or whatever they were with their outfits and the two pedestrians who honestly looked scared at the whole thing. In technicality, he would have to take all the parties in for the report but it was starting to near four hours of overtime and perhaps another hour for the report so right now that thought wasn't fun. With Kyle contemplating on what he should do, backup would be nice but considering the situation they would arrive to late to the scene and by that time the conflict would be over...

He shook his head as the stress of this job would kill him one day, digging through his free front pocket, he looked at the single card in pocket which he was playing with earlier, a few spare coins and a paperclip that was bent into two. Looking at the miscellaneous objects, whispered something under his breath for the coins in his hand and tossed it into the entrance of the alleyway where he would enter in just a moment. He didn't spend time watching the coins bounce once off the wall before dissolving before turning into a translucent bronze barrier, as he began mumbling a few more things for the things in his hand which he finished as his figure entered the alleyway. Stopping just in front of the bronze barrier with his gun aimed toward the group. 'This is so stupid you know that?' He thought to himself before announced his presence.

" GCPD! Raise your hands up and don't make any sudden movements! " It was a bit awkward as he barged into the situation but the couple noticeably had a flash of relief on their face when they saw his police badge while attracting the attention of the goons at the same time, which were now directed to Kyle now.

The green goons that were facing the vigilantes were now looking at Kyle, as one out of the two picked up his fallen partner's gun and looked amused at Kyle's attempt to stop the entire group. But they weren't foolish enough to open themselves up for their opponents behind them as they rushed him. As they were smart enough to understand the situation of them being outnumbered now as it seemed to be three against two, however, they only needed to get through one person to escape and that was Kyle.

The goons started with a rush that was unexpected but the one with the gun began to fire with the intention of trying to scare him off and if one hit, lucky them. However, the bronze shield lit up for each bullet it took with the translucent color glowing in the area the bullets hit and continued to do so with each additional one breaking down the shield further more. By five bullets and not even done with the magazine in the pistol, they had almost reached Kyle in their sprint with a few more feet left between them but they wouldn't expect what would happen right in that moment. With Kyle opening his left hand, he tossed his two broken pieces of a paper clip and watched his magic work as they grew into a long silver ribbons and entangled themselves onto the goons' feet as they got within appropriate range before he watched them tumble forward in a nasty fall with both of their momentum slamming against the bronze shield with a nice concussion to knock them out. Watching them shattered his shield upon impact after all of the damage it previously took into shimmering shards of energy before fading before he quickly apprehended the two goons with a pair of cuffs and tied them to a light pole before he made his way down further into the alleyway.

He looked at the other fallen green goons who were unconscious before he pointed his gun at the two people who were early for Halloween "I take it you're going to let those two love birds free?" He 'asked' in what really was an obvious and expected order from the two as he glanced at the nervous couple watch the tension between their saviours.

He in the meantime took note of the two vigilantes with the noticeable female vigilante's injuries which were not his problem but something just to be aware of. He could probably handle himself individual against both of them but together would be something difficult to handle and this wasn't including whatever else they had on them. As it would prove to be additionally challenging when all you have is a gun, baton, a deck of cards and some pocket lint as he didn't come prepared for something like this. So basically he had no more tricks up his sleeves as this was straight up, try to arrest the two and maybe get beat up or just go along your wake and deal with what work you already have to do. The choice was obvious as he lowered his gun towards the two but kept a careful eye on the two, planning to raise it back up if they approached aggressively.

"Isn't Robin supposed to wear yellow?" asked the newest kid to wear the uniform of Squire, stepping into the larger center of the new Belfry HQ.

"Squire, Overwatch. Overwatch, Squire." Batwoman announced as the two young men stared each other down from behind their own masks.

"I'm no sidekick..." Overwatch began saying towards the new costumed ally, "..but I read your file. You're basically the Robin of England." Overwatch finished replying.

Batwoman looked at the two young men and could tell they had a lot to learn from each other. She thought back to the days when her and Grayson were inexperienced noobs. The bickering, getting the last punch in on the badguys, and their time with Bruce. Bruce Wayne was like a second father to Barbera Gordon. With his death, Babs could feel the weight of Gotham on her shoulders. Batwoman spaced out for a few moments and lost focus. When she shook it off the central monitor came on and a European man with his face hidden in shadows bena to say...

"Master Ba...Batwoman! I didn't expect you to put a team together for several more days..." said the voice.

"I do what I can, Mister Gray. Did we get a new lead?" Batwoman asked while the two young heroes went speechless.

The man in the monitor smiled slightly at being called Mr Gray, "Our reports were somewhat wrong, initially. There IS someone running around at night pretending to be Batman.. however it isn't the Joker as we originally thought." he said.

"Feels like 'Charlie's Angels..." Overwatch mumbled to himself.

"Who do our sources think it is now?" Batwoman asked giving Overwatch a look.

"A teenager took a picture with his smart phone, one moment.... aaaand... here. It's quite obvious who it is, really." Alfred said still remaining in the shadows but pausing some security footage of a man in a black and red suit with a cape and linking it to the Belfry's network.

Gotham City ~ Devil's Square

Devil's Square was never the exactly the most fun part of Gotham, but tonight that was especially true from the looks of it. Walls and signs all over were plastered with green question marks, and usually some very cryptic questions along with them. There was no doubt it was the Riddler's work, the question marks alone were a dead giveaway. Something wasn't right though. Many of the question marks and riddles looked hastily made, and almost all of them had the answer or a clue to the answer tagged underneath them. No way someone as meticulous and egocentric as the Riddler would be so sloppy, and he sure as hell wouldn't give away the answers to his own riddles like this either.

"Looks like the police scanner wasn't lying, something weird is going on in Devil's Square." a young man spoke into an small earpiece he wore. He was on the roof of one of the small corner businesses, it's billboard tainted by a giant green question mark. Below that, again in green paint, a riddle was posted:

My first is often at the front door.
My second is found in the cereal family.
My third is what most people want.
My whole is one of the united states.

What am I?

A puzzling riddle, or at least it would have been one if the answer wasn't plainly painted under it in black. The answer, incidentally, was apparently "matrimony" according to the graffiti, with even a short explanation in brackets: (mat + rye + money = matrimony)

"It's definitely Riddler's handy work, but why would he give away the answers like this?" it was puzzling to the young man, who was called Zero. While he'd never personally fought with Riddler before, the self-proclaimed enigmatic genius was one of Gotham's top dog criminals for a reason, not only for going up against the Batman himself, but for managing to give the Caped Crusader more of an intellectual challenge than any before him. Just adding the answers to his own riddles didn't fit his M.O. at all.

"He wouldn't." a gruff voice responded from the earpiece, "Someone's egging him on, which means twice the trouble. This may not have been such a hot idea, kid, maybe you better-" the old man the voice belonged to didn't get to finish his protest.

"No way. If Batman really is... gone... then someone needs to help pick up the slack. He would have done the same." Zero then muted his communications before the old man could start chewing him out. He approached the edge of the roof as he did so, letting his neck crack a bit before adjusting the settings for his chill gloves. A utility of Zero's suit, these gloves emitted a coolant that helped chill his ice even further, adding to its toughness and making it harder to melt. The suit as a whole was a gift of sorts, a favor his "mentor" called in from an old friend of his from some tech company called Cyberwear.

"So... if someone's trying to outdo the Riddler, I can probably assume they have the same M.O., which means they could be holed up anywhere. Where to start - huh?"

" GCPD! Raise your hands up and don't make any sudden movements! "

An alleyway by a building across the street suddenly seemed to spring to life with action, made far more noticeable by the apparent police officer making his presence known. The gunshots that soon followed certainly didn't help ease any of the tensions either and Zero prepared to spring into action. If it was just some goons then he could handle it no problem, having dealt with worse by this point in his career. But he stopped when the cop literally worked some magic to capture the thugs.

"Hmm, well color me intrigued." Zero said to himself under his breath. He switched his earpiece back on and spoke into it, "Hey Grant, you know anything about a cop with powers?"

G O T H A M C I T Y - D E V I L ' S S Q U A R E

She was still alive and that was a start.

"Andrew Garfield really made this seem easy!" The arrival of a new voice followed by the appearance of a boy in a domino mask was almost enough to distract Steph from the pain of the bullet graze.

"I really did enjoy that movie." Came the Spoiler's strained voice as she pushed herself to her feet, swinging her staff with what little strength she could muster.

"That your best shot, man? Because I’d seriously like to see you make another!" The newcomer asked as Steph felt a chuckle escape her.

"I think you have to ask it in the form of a riddle with these guys." She muttered before suddenly freezing as an authoritative voice yelled at the pair.

" GCPD! Raise your hands up and don't make any sudden movements!"

Looking from under her hood, Steph turned her gaze towards the officer. Dressed in a trenchcoat, there was no doubt in her mind that he was a detective.

"GCPD must be stretched pretty thin to be sending their Dicks out as first responders." She muttered as the Riddler goons decided to make more poor decisions. Her jaw nearly dropped as the bullets were stopped midair before the Dick unleashed some sort of magic on them. Realizing how quickly she had gotten in over her head, Steph looked to the couple she had originally intervened to save before scrambling for the grapple launcher on her belt.

"I take it you're going to let those two love birds free?" Came the detective's voice as the Spoiler did everything in her power to issue a nonchalant response.

"All yours Dick, too hot for me here anyways." She responded, grappling towards a low hanging roof as she began to make her way towards home.

"Thanks for the team up Cutie!" She called back to the young boy who had come to aid. Turning back to the task before her, Steph fired the grapple again beginning her ascent to Gotham's towering heights. Blood had soaked into her costume, the sleeve sticking and pulling with each motion she made while climbing. The pain once again threatening to cause her to black out.

C'mon Steph, pull it together. WWBD? Probably growl at the pain in that Clint Eastwood voice of his. 'I don't have time for you.' The thought of it almost made her laugh as she pulled herself onto the roof top before collapsing into the gravel exhausted. Raising her head, Steph scanned the twinkling skyline as stars and lights alike lit up Gotham beneath the heavy cloud of fog. Home seemed so far away yet, but she had to make it. There was no way her mother was getting a phone call from the authorities stating she was found dead in costume in Devil's Square.

Keep moving, there's waffles at home girl.

Midtown - Under Gotham Gardens

The nights were lonely and quiet. There was no one really to talk to. Her strange, and arguably stronger, connection to plants led her to talking with them even though they could not respond back with any real intelligent thought. Since reviving Ivy had been busy trying to recover herself. Physically she was perfectly fine, younger even. But there was still a lot of her past missing. So much she didn't know. And apparently in her absence one of her biggest foes had passed away. This potentially left a huge opening for her. However it seemed that others that were already better prepared had made their move.

Somehow hearing about Batman's passing left yet another hole in her heart. The feeling was difficult to explain, like a lingering memory that she couldn't get a grasp of. There had been a lot of that lately. So far she'd had little contact with anyone. Her initial attempt was thrown back in her face as she learned that people hated her. She was almost captured once before going into hiding.

The fighting of villains didn't really concern the woman much. While most of the lab she'd woken up in was destroyed she had recovered some of her research. There was quite a bit she no longer understood but enough of it outlined the chemicals she needed to better grow and mutate her plants. Unfortunately that meant getting her hands dirty to steal what she needed. S.T.A.R. Labs was in the same district and looked to be the best place for her to hit. Exactly what she would find was anyone's guess.

Midtown - S.T.A.R. Labs

Making use of the nearby plant life the young woman could already tell that the security was pretty tight. The place surely had been targeted before given its credentials. But everything has its weaknesses. In this case it was time. Over the last several days Ivy had been using the roots of plants to spread into the tiny cracks in the foundation and breaking it up to make it easier to breach. Though that was plan B, because why reveal your best option right waya? Going through the front door sounded a lot easier anyway. This way she could hopefully get in, grab what she wanted, and get back out before anyone showed up. And if that failed she had a back door.

Whilst the Cluemaster and Riddler provided sufficient distraction vines and a large pod rose up from the ground in front of the lab. Rushing forward they punched through and crushed the doors in their path. A guard ran to break in with his gun drawn. The bullets didn't phase the vine much other than to agitate it. Grabbed and swept off his feet the man was tossed outside several yards away like a toy. Several others met a similar fate or were pinned to a wall and had overgrowth restrict their movement. The immediate threat neutralized the pod opened up and Ivy stepped out. She strolled by the guards who could only watch helplessly. Luckily she seemed to have no interest in harming them.

Now began the part that would take the most time, actually finding what she wanted. Ivy did not know the layout and had to search to find some of what she wanted. Wasting precious time breaking open doors and lockers she started grabbing everything she could get her hands on when it looked like she was on the right track. Rumor was that new heroes were popping up and she really didn't want to deal with that. This far in she didn't have as much use of the vines reaching in from outside.

It seemed that it would turn out to be a normal meet and greet between him and the Bat-Clan...at least as normal as it could get amongst masked adventurers. Colton couldn't say that he was disappointed, although he was glad that he wasn't forced to go through some form of testing to 'prove himself', as he had heard from Beryl how much suspicion and paranoia the Cowl carried with it. But as far as first impressions go, it seemed that this new 'Batwoman could handle it quite well.

"I wouldn't call myself a carbon copy, more like an improved version of the Boy Wonder. Without the cape..." he didn't feel offended in anyway but he grew to feel a sort of appreciation for the Legacy of the Squire. After all, his own grandfather, Percy Sheldrake served as the Squire for the Shining Knight during WW2. That's right, a Knight of the Round Table displaced in time, not the strangest thing to hear when in the span of months you face the criminal gang of a hitman with a Pitbull head and a mad Tudor Queen that was resurrected as a vampire. And speaking of strange, what 'Mr. Gray' presented them on the monitor was at least a suitable pair for the adjective.

"I read some files too you know..." Squire said to Overwatch "This must be one of your resident loonies here in Gotham, right? That attorney turned bad with the fetish on Doubles, now adding disrespectful gimmick-infringing schmuck to the list."

"That's a new one on me, kid." Zero heard Grant's gruff response, but had no time to say anything else before he realized that at least two of the people down there were the cape-wearing variety. A boy and girl? It was hard to tell from this distance, but one of them definitely seemed more feminine, having a smaller frame than either the boy or cop seemed to indicate as much. Speaking of the possible girl, she fired a grappling gun of all things and climbed her way up to the roof across the road. Where or how she obtained a thing like that was the least of Zero's questions, as her climb gave Zero the opportunity to notice a subtle unevenness in her movements. Was she injured? Again, it was difficult to say for sure from this distance.

When Zero's figure suddenly sprinted to the edge of the roof and made a quick jump, Grant's gruff voice barked in his earpiece, "The hell are you tryin-" but it quickly became clear what he intended. Rather than actually make a full jump, Zero created a small structure below his feet, one that resembled a ski-ramp of sorts. Letting the slick of the ice build up his momentum, he used that to just barely make over to the roof across the street. As per usual, the ramp he made quickly melted into water that dropped down to the streets below once Zero's feet left it. Now finding himself getting a much better look at the girl, who at that point was lying on her back and staring up the sky, Zero could tell she was injured without a doubt.

"Hey there, you look like you could use a doctor." Zero said to her, making sure he could heard if his presence wasn't already known to her. He couldn't tell her age thanks to her mask. Speaking of that, Zero made sure his eyes emitted a icy blue glow so as to help hide his own identity since his mask didn't cover his whole face like hers appeared to, "I can get you to someone who can patch you up without taking off your mask if you like, that is, if you don't mind trusting me for a bit."

"Hey! Don't even think about-" a gruff voice could be audibly heard even from those not wearing Zero's earpiece. Yeah, Grant was that loud. However, Zero switched it off before the voice could finish whatever their protest was going to be.

"Um... ignore him. He may be a bit of a cranky old man, but I promise he can patch you up if you need it." Zero smiled, trying to be as sincere as possible. Naturally it was difficult earn the trust of another who wore a mask for a reason, but still, that didn't mean some of them couldn't become friendly if they just tried. His earpiece started beeping in his ear, though only he could hear it. Grant was trying reopen their communication. So, Zero switched it on and turned away briefly.

"What now? I'm trying to-"

"Get your ass over to Midtown, pronto! Scanner just picked up a robbery in progress at S.T.A.R. Labs, and someone mentioned a sudden case of overgrown weeds all over the place. Sound familiar?"

Zero turned back to address the girl again, "Looks like I'm needed in Midtown. Just... try not to overdo it too much, okay? There's a place in Midtown, a gym called "Grant's Proving Ground". Like I said, he's a crabby old man but he'll patch you up if ask him nicely. Be careful out there!" that last bit, Zero had to raise his voice a bit since he'd already taken off, using a similar means to get around to the other roofs, all while making his way in the direction of Midtown, destination: S.T.A.R. Labs.

Grabbing what she could Ivy quickly moved to the next room. There was a lot of stuff here, most of it she probably could use but didn't realize it. Starting her search again she was suddenly alerted to her plants, freezing? Yes the vines were freezing outside. She had read about a man that called himself Mr Freeze but he was incarcerated she'd thought. Then again it seemed that being captured did not always mean much in the grand scheme of things. Gotham was still corrupt and it had only gotten worse since Batman's death.

This intrusion was not planned for. Batwoman or some other vigilante maybe but she'd yet to develop a proper way to deal with the cold. Even though she wasn't near whoever it was she could still feel the chill work its way down her back. Dropping what she was doing she ran for an exit. Like hell she was going to get captured on the first run on resources. Tossing a pod of goods to a vine it carried it away for her so she could move more freely. As Zero was dealing with the attacking vines he might spot Ivy dart across the hall.

If this was Poison Ivy she didn't look it. Sure she had the hair and skin color for it but she was young, like in her late teens. It was just a glance though so it was hard to say if it was Ivy or someone new with a similar ability. The plant controlling woman had disappeared from the face of the earth a couple years ago and up until now it seemed it may have been for good.

Somehow running didn't seem her style. Using the vines in her suit Ivy shot them up into the ceiling and hoisted herself up into a vent. Lifting it shut she peered down to see with her own eyes who was coming for her. Probably not the best plan given whoever it was may not be the only one to show up. But with the loot secure she felt like she could handle herself.

All Tyrus could do was stare in amazement as the detective appeared on the scene, adding yet another person to the chaos of the alleyway. The stare of amazement wasn’t simply because the guy intervening was a cop. No, just about any old smuck could go to police academy along with Steve Guttenberg and Michael Winslow and come out with a shiny badge. No, the real reason to be amazed was because of what the guy could do! Miraculously the man managed to avoid gun fire from the Riddler’s goons from point blank range, with the bullets reflected off a translucent gold shield that had appeared in front of him.

That wasn’t even the craziest part though. With one simply flick of his wrist, two long silver ribbons erupted from his hands, growing in size as they tangled around the goons trapping them.

What kind of crazy sorcery was this?! It took nearly every ounce of self-control that he had not to flip out there and then.

Obviously the purple clad vigilante he had come to help seemed to be having the exact same thoughts. Merely seconds after the group of riddle loving thugs had been apprehended, the girl was already attempting to make her escape, with her whipping out what appeared to be a grappling hook out of her utility belt and firing upwards towards the rooftops. She soon found herself hurtling away, leaving Tyrus alone with the couple and the stern looking detective. He couldn’t complain too much though; she‘d called him cute after all.

Sorry man, but the girls got the right idea! Robins never do well with cops. Especially cops that seem to stop bullets and shoot silver stuff out their fingers.” He said coolly, staring the detective dead in the eye as he did so. With one swift motion, he launched his billy club out directly above him, the piece of metal souring high into the rooftops. “Besides, you cramp our style.

While not the most ingenious exit line, it would have done the job if the billy club above had missed. It was as if God himself was messing with Tryus. As soon as the word “style” had left his lips, the billy club descended from the sky like a rock, clattering down loudly between the two.

Shit.

Not wishing to prolong the awkwardness he had just created, Robin darted forwards towards the billy club. Upon grabbing it he turned, intent to throw again. This time he would actually aim. He gave a silent prayer that this time his club would hit its mark. Fortunately the sound of clanging from the fire escape above confirmed that it had, with the cable between the one he had thrown and the club in his hand instantly tightening. Turning back to the detective, he gave an apologetic smile before pulling himself upwards and out of sight.

Unsurprisingly, once Tyrus had reached the rooftop, the girl seemed to be long gone. He wasn’t once for giving up though. She seemed to have some vague idea of what was happening here in Devil’s Square which meant he needed her help. Deciding to climb higher, thus giving him a good view of the surrounding area, he propelled his billy club further up to the roof of an apartment block. After another brief rush of air, he found himself heaving himself over a ledge. As he did so, he glanced ahead, and to his surprised found himself directly next to the girl he had been seeking.

Uh… Hey man.” He said awkwardly, fumbling for words as he clambered onto the rooftop next to where she was sat. “Was it just me, or was that back there totally weird? Like, I’m pretty sure that wasn’t normal. Even for Gotham’s standards. Anyway, I’m Robin. Although you probably know that, considering the uniform, and uh… the big ‘R’ on my belt.” He was rambling now. “What’s the deal with those pricks down there anyway? Heard some commotion about the Riddler and some lame-ass sounding Cluemaster and...

That was when he spotted her shoulder. Given the purple costume and the darkness of night, it was no surprise that Tyrus hadn’t seen the wound sooner, but upon closer inspection it was obvious that it was serious. Now panicking slightly, he stood back, running his hand nervously through his hair. He’d experienced gun wounds before, from both his time with the River Rats, as well as during his time as Robin. That being said though, it never made it easier.

We… we have to get you to a hospital or something!” That’s all he managed to say at first, with his voice reflecting somewhat the panicked state he was in. “Can I help? Can you walk?

RASCAL & PROCYON

EZEKIEL & CLINTON

1 left… 6 stops .. another left… 2 turns for a right…

During the entire car ride, One of Ezekiel’s foot would lightly tap against Clinton’s boots depending on the movement of the car to indicate the direction it went. Clearly, the two had bags over their heads, had their hands behind their backs bounded with simple cable ties.

Hard laughs, talk of business, gossips, imitating the Batman--Even imitating the Riddler. This was currently happening throughout the entire car ride. Then there was the occasional groans coming from the third guy he impaled before in the shoulder which made him sneer under the brown sack covering his face.

Soon the black van came to an abrupt stop, and at that moment the male closed his eyes shut and feigned unconsciousness as both feet tapped the sides of his brother. “We’re here.” A mutter was heard as the twins received a rough smack across their face. “If you 2 shits are awake, Say somethin’.” Ordered the thug who babysat them in the backseat.

“Somethin’.” the twins imitated unanimously in their most terrible accent yet with a deep voice. It was clear they irritated the thug, and upon hearing the doors slide open--The two were stood up and thrown out deliberately, head first and meeting the concrete ground that indicated playtime was over. Then light appeared before them again, and Clinton rolled his neck around before cracking it, shaking his shoulders as if ready for something.

In front of them was a group--An actual group of thugs related to Riddler forming a circle around them. Behind the group however was a green riddle spray painted on the warehouse door. A thug read aloud,

“The man who invented it doesn't want it.
The man who bought it doesn't need it.
The man who needs it doesn't know it. What is it?”

“The hell is that supposed to mean?” another responded.

At that moment Clinton knew and let out a sigh as the thugs literally seemed to bicker over the anwer. “Ready?” He rhetorically asked. “They’re dumber than I expected.” Zeke scoffed, before Clinton jumped up and over his arms in order to get them in front of him. At this moment, His older brother simply tripped the thug from before who still had the knife on him and grabbed it with his hands, causing a backflip on the ground to get away while his legs went over his arms as well in the process.

Immediately Ezekiel stood with both hands on the blade and cut through the makeshift cuff on his brother's wrist before Clinton tossed down a thick smoke pellet, freeing his brother the same way in return as their many opponents were blinded. It was simple, The two were confident that what they wanted was in that warehouse and they had no problem fighting their way to get it.

>> Slightly skipping <<

While beating up the thugs, Clinton was silent throughout the whole fight while Ezekiel retorted comments as he brought them down one by one. The twins were surely beaten and bruised, but doing better than Riddler’s thugs and Clinton looked over at Ezekiel--Grabbing a nearby bat and swinging it at a man’s head only enough to knock him unconscious. It seemed to be his weapon of choice for now.

“...”

“What?” Ezekiel glanced--Recognizing the stare his brother was giving him as he grabbed a goon by the arm and twisting it before flipping the large man over his back. A crack was heard before he shouted in pain, and their conversation seemed to continue in a casual manner.

“So…” Clinton looked over his shoulder, countering the punches of a thug before grabbing him by the collar and flipping him over with his hands and legs, back on the floor. His brother followed with an attack smoothly, fly-kicking their last opponent. “Remind me why we’re doing this?” He asked as the two stopped, in front of the large warehouse door facing each other.

Their outfit was tattered and there were holes around them. A few cuts here and there, as well as purple and blue blotches on the twin’s faces and knuckles. Now there was definitely a difference between the two considering they took different hits in various areas and Clinton picked up his hat, brushing through his hair and dusting his hat casually before placing it back on.”Remind me why we’re doing this again?” He asked.

“Because you idiot, Riddler just happens to owe us after all that work we’ve helped him through! We also helped him up his role in some poi--”

Soon the door had slowly opened up, and the twins were overshadowed by a large and burly figure. Slowly hearing the door creek up as it opened, the two raccoons slowly looked up before hearing a laugh from the man who wasn’t in the fight: That ‘Ol’ donnie’ guy.

“Woah--There’s something new.”
“Ya think?”
“He actually has a brute joining him.”
“No shit Sherlock.”
“Coffin--” Clinton quickly answered.
“Less talky, More beat em--What?--”

But before Ezekiel could once again finish his own sentence, he found himself tossed passed the truck and landing into the dumpster. On the other hand, Clinton jumped back as a way to prevent being thrown across the same way as his brother but had collided with the black van behind him which tilted to the side before saving him from his fall. He landed on his knees, looking up as they groaned in pain, slowly making an effort to standing.

“And right you are!” A voice shouted. Behind the figure was Donnie, and the twins felt a twinge of nervousness to fight back for only a moment. “Though it seems like I only got one trash in where it belongs.” He shrugged, before laughing. “Boy did the Big Boss knew about you two than you thought!” Donnie coughed, voice raspy from all the cigarettes he smoked.

Clinton quickly stepped forward and then back, kicking his feet against the car and uppercutting the large ‘body guard’ of Donnie. He must’ve been at least 6’5 or something--But he was exceptionally large. Obviously one punch from a shorter younger male didn’t inflict much damage as expected and pretty soon Ezekiel jumped over the van, joining in on trying to take the big guy down.

To no avail, the guy was doing more damage than the twins did to him. Immediately Clinton was aware that the only way to make the guy fall was to play develop a tactic--Play a game. So while they dodged relentlessly and Ezekiel placed more hits and kicks than he did, Clinton eyed his brother.”HEY!” He called. “Wanna play a game?” Clinton chuckled. Ezekiel stopped momentarily, jumping to the side to avoid a punch. “Which game?” the older brother inquired. “Leapfrog--with a twist.” Clinton pointed at his head, indicating to keep hitting the big guy in the head until he falls down. With that Clinton picked up the baseball bat and the raccoon brothers got into action with their plan.

Ezekiel slid through the large man’s legs as he punched around at the air and got into position on his stomach. Clinton then used his brother as support under his foot to heighten his jump, and whack the baseball bat straight at the man’s head before landing on the ground and crouching down. This ‘game of leapfrog’ went back and forth between the two as they each managed to attack the larger man, Ezekiel even using the blade and going as far as blinding the burly thug in one eye in the end. Clinton then scurried underneath his legs and crouched tightly in a sort of fetus position, before the thug backed up onto him and tripped over him--A large groan being heard.

Soon there was silence from the warehouse then, a shaky breath of fear. "Well we're here." Clinton uttered, before a shot was heard. "CLINT!" Ezekiel shouted instinctively. The younger brother fell to the floor and after several seconds, he got up--Rubbing his cheek as the bullet by luck only grazed his skin.

"STAY AWAY FROM ME. YOU AIN'T GETTING ANYTHING FROM ME."

"Tsk--I don't have the patience!" Ezekiel grunted and with that he tackled Donnie, immediately grabbing the gun in the process and holding it under his chin. "Where's that cancerous shit head who thinks he's one of the a villain?" he growled. "I ain't tellin'! But I will tell you this: Theres a war! A turf between him and the Clue Master!"

Suddenly Clinton looked over their direction as he was staring at the large stacks of money piled up, flipping through them in his hands. "Ironic.. Counterfeit." He chuckled. "Riddler knew we were coming. Plus that riddle is known to have two answers: Counterfeit money, or A coffin. In this case he attempted to get rid of us anyways... But this Cluemaster--Whats the deal with him?" the other twin inquired from across the room, his voice nonchalantly echoing.

"Its a rivalry thing-- But we actually don't know to much Kiddos! Sure enough though, theres something more going on supposedly! Who knows!?" Ezekiel eyed the man for a moment, before sighing in an unsatisfied manner. "Cut him some slack." Clinton commented before a shot was heard.

"AHH! YOU BASTARD SON!--" Immediately Clinton looked back to see the guy hold onto his shin. Painful--He nearly shivered at what would feel like if it were to be done on him and Ezekiel walked away. "He's playing games." he said irritably. Clinton only chuckled at his older brother's frustration. "Well--That's usually his M.O... Right?" He then looked at the money which actually formed a question mark, and pointed at the empty space where another riddle was told.

I start with the letter E, I end with the letter E.
I contain only one letter, Yet I am not the letter E!
What am I?

and there was an envelope resting beside the riddle. Clinton picked it up, opening it and looked over at Zeke. "We may be in to deep." He shrugged, motioning for Donnie with his head. "I think he and muscle man are double spies... of this... 'Clue master'?" The name did sound familiar, and Ezekiel punched Clinton in the arm. "We worked for him at one point, I can vouch for that. Hey--Ya think maybe we were lured here?"

"I can honestly say this: I don't know. And even if we were--Which one wanted us?" Clinton wrapped his finger around his chin. "I mean--We are the most hated in a sense... So if we did worked for both, they'd both want us dead either way.. But like that guy said, I think theres something more to it. And this letter--I don't even understand it to be honest." Clinton explained as the two gazed at the letter.

Well that was odd.

Spoiler was almost flabbergasted as another vigilante arrived on the rooftop by way of ice, offered her aid and then immediately took off before she had a chance to accept or deny. If the thought truly was all that counted, the guy got a flippin' 'A' in good intentions but an 'F' in carry through.

"That's cool, didn't really need your help anyways." Spoiler muttered to herself as she moved to stand up.

“Uh… Hey man.” Another voice came from behind her as the other vigilante from Devil's Square appeared beside her. “Was it just me, or was that back there totally weird? Like, I’m pretty sure that wasn’t normal. Even for Gotham’s standards. Anyway, I’m Robin. Although you probably know that, considering the uniform, and uh… the big ‘R’ on my belt.” If Steph hadn't been in so much pain, it would almost have been cute how the boy was rambling on. Although, having met Batman, Steph had a pretty strong hunch that a guy who got his wardrobe from the nineties wasn't actually Robin. Tuning back in to the boy, she heard him pose a question regarding her father.

“What’s the deal with those pricks down there anyway? Heard some commotion about the Riddler and some lame-ass sounding Cluemaster and...” And then suddenly he trailed off. Following his gaze, Steph realized he had noticed her wound. Robin's body language suddenly changed as he nervously ran his hand through his hair obviously mulling over the best solution. Yet even still his mouth spat out the worst one.

“We… we have to get you to a hospital or something!” His voice was strained, obviously more panicked about the wound than Steph herself.

“Can I help? Can you walk?” He asked reaching forward only for the Spoiler to push him back.

"No hospitals..." She grunted. "That's where my Mo-" Steph paused realizing in horror that a slip up like that could lead to her identity being revealed. "No hospitals." She reiterated trying to cover up her stumble. Standing up of her own free will, she stumbled slightly before taking a couple of clumsy steps forward before regaining her bearings. "I can walk, it was only a graze, just tired." She tried to reassure Robin. "I only need to clean up and get something to eat." Reaching into her utility belt, Steph pulled out a roll of gauze and began to wrap it tightly around her arm.

"Er.. on second thought, maybe I could use some help with this?" She said looking up at Robin. "Can you take me to Grant's Gym? I think the help I need is there."

With the twitching of her ears a soft jingle would dance along with it, as bells had been set up by her lavender colored cat ears. Khit would tap her foot softly, as the teleporter would disappear from the rooftops and would land smack in the middle of the street. She seemed too appear in segments as if a puzzle piece being put together, it was a rather painless ability, however she could chose how she would appear. Once together, the girl would look around. She had appeared in what one would call, “the bad part” of Gotham, and given the city’s current state, that wasn’t very good. Ember eyes would scan over the area, the broken windows, the towering ominous shadows that had once been buildings, she wouldn’t doubt that they were probably gutted and hollow creatures now.

The purple tail would sway softly, as she would even see the neglect or perhaps straight abuse had been down too the pothole ridden streets. A gust of wind would kick up and even the scent of this area had been, for lack of better words garbage. Taking a few steps forward, deeper into this dark dungeon, a small smile on her face. Of course, Khit had seemed oblivious too the group of men that had been filming her, ah the age of cell phones, humans would film anything now a days, too cute animals being stupid too humans beating each other senseless, that being said, that didn’t mean Gotham was a stranger too the.. strange. No doubt they'd send it too the web, or their higher ups. Khit didn't really care, let the world know about her, she had been hidden for far too long.

Khit, would have disappeared simply again, into thin air as the group would have went too follow her. After all, she didn’t like too fight if she had too, and she was too enamored with her new play grounds too care much too be interested in simple people like that. The young adventurer wouldn’t have known that her knew play pen had been called The Bowery, and had been one of Gotham’s worse neighborhood, homelessness had been all too obvious. The girl would have appeared yet again on a not so bright, street lamp; and by not so bright; the moment her feet would softly land on the lamp it would go out. Her eyes would go over the inhabitants of this part of town.

“ Homeless, thug, thug, goon...thug, thug, burning trash can....possible...prostitute?” Tilting her head as her eyes would narrow, and she’d giggle softly to herself. “Definite prostitute, thug, thug, oh look..” she’d go quiet, of course she had been talking too herself softly, as she would watch the group of men from before looking around, no doubt for her, or was that just her boredom talking? Probably because they had been trailing what looking like a man in the wrong place at the wrong time, it had been so cliche it had actually been hurting her. Her smile wouldn’t falter however, as she would begin too actually trail the trailing group of men.

Nonchalantly walking across the air as if there had been some sort of invisible ground keeping her afloat, of course this was apart of her abilities as the bells on her ears wouldn’t make a sound, her movement had been steady; as if not a kawaii ass cat girl but a great tigress unleashed in a new jungle too claim; however, some would say Gotham is much more frightening than a jungle. Oh, what was that? Her eyes would glance away from the group momentarily as she would become distracted, by an oncoming car. She had never seen one of those in real life, heard them, and saw them on her television. A scream in pain would take her focus from the leaving car, oh it was a police car... it’s sirens wailing down the streets suddenly.

Wincing slightly as she’d cover her ears, by the gods.. what the hell was in those things? Oh wait, hadn’t she been... doing something, something good- her hands would go too her chin. “What...was I doing...” she’d bite her bottom lip as she’d rub her ears softly. A scream would interrupt her thoughts. Well, more so reminded her what she had been doing. The metallic scent of blood would lead the way too the violence, it was hard to distinguish at first too be honest; the entire area smelled of hopelessness not too mention whatever else that raunchy smell had been lingering in the air. She had found them in a matter of minutes, looking down an alley way. Really, this cliche? The purple ears would twitch slightly as she would stare down the group. “Now,now, now, if I count correct that’s five against one...” she’d wave her finger too the group as the man would have already been pretty been beat up.

She was sure his should had been dislocated, but then again, she hadn’t had a chance too see anything like this in real life, she was just basing her knowledge from what she saw on Tv. ”Oi, it’s that cat girl from earlier.” the tallest out of the group would speak up, her eyes would narrow onto him, let’s call him TBO, Tall-Bald One, it seemed only TBO and one other one seemed too have their attention set on her, she’d call the other one PE, pervy eyes for obvious reasons. “Oh, how sweet of you guys, you remember me.” she’d giggle jumping up and down, and before her feet would touch the ground she’d disappear, and appear behind the man on the ground, looking too the beaten man she would wink too the boys. Her hands would rest on his torso, one easily pick pocketing the man, as the other went too set his shoulder. The pain would no doubt distract him. The teeth clenching crack of the bone setting back in it’s socket would echo through out the area and turn the goons attention back on them.

“Yer lucky i have a very busy ni-” she’d duck quickly, as the biggest of the group would swing at her, he had a cool beard though. As her body bent back too avoid the punch, Tbo would suddenly move too kick at her. She’d quickly disappear as she’d land on the fence that had cornered them. ”Oh, you must be one of those new Vi-gel-land-ees that have been popping up like ugly black heads.” oh, one of the goons had been a woman. The girl had too be no older than Khit herself, however a mask had been covered over her face, and her hair had been incredibly short.

Pouting slightly as Khit stood on the fence, balanced easily she’d sigh.”Fine, I guess you guys are my welcoming party. I’m not even going too use my bells on you.” She’d disappear yet again, appearing behind PE, she’d quickly drop too the ground and move too trip him, the fool would go down as if nothing, falling on Goonette, she’d look too the man. Oh right, she wasn’t that strong. “Hey, guy, it’s time too run away.” she wouldn’t have too tell the victim twice, as he’d stumble too his feet. TBO, however would move quickly too block the path and Khit would teleport again, appear above TBO she’d drop down, going too kick him hard on his head, as she would use that momentum too push off of TBO’s head- as he would be falling hard too the ground and landing on the downed PE and Goonette.

“Honestly, if this is Gotham’s wors-” the sound of a gun clicking and the sound of metal against metal would echo through the area. Fuck, that’s right there had been five of them. And no doubt avoiding the bullet it would hit the man, quickly, her reflexes would move too grab her bells, the two would jingle once before transforming into a large shield at her touch, crouching low behind it the man would fire. Okay, so yeah.. guns were a thing. Her ears would twitch and she’d growl, as she’d wait until she’ d hear the thug rushing too load his clip, she’d run suddenly, the shield turning into two long metallic staffs suddenly, the Gunman would be put on his arse, as she’d smack the gun over the fence with the other staff, growling lowly as the staff would shift into a spear pointed at his neck.

“You made me use my bells...” her tail would flicker annoyed.

The Batmobile wasn't made to seat three people. Squire and Overwatch were now made aware of this. As Batwoman drove like a person possessed, she was trying to make it to Chinatown where Two-Face was last seen. A storm began brewing overhead, the air became thick, and lightning began stretching out across the night sky. It was going to be one of those nights in Gotham. On their way to the scene, Barbara couldn't help but think of the days she would ride alongside Batman's car on her motorcycle. The younger Robin always rode shotgun until he eventually got his own license.

"If you don't stop moving around you're going to put too much weight on my glove, dude!" Overwatch said a bit louder than he meant towards Squire, who was also packed into the tiny cockpit of the car.

"I'll see about getting transportation for one or both of you later. I think we just found our fake Batman..." Batwoman said looking up on the roof at the two sided 'Batman' wielding a gun.

The Double Dragon Cafe below was already a wreck with a fire stirring in the back. The top of the car opened up and the heroes made their way out. Batwoman took charge giving the two young heroes their orders. If they followed through on them was yet to be seen.

"Overwatch! Help any civilians vacate the area, try and push those wrecked cars out of the way..." she began saying before Overwatch interrupted.

"I don't know if you got the memo but I don't have super strength..." he mentioned before she tossed him the keys to the Batmobile.

"Push them out of the way with our ride then, just get the civilians cleared out first. We have to make room for a firetruck to get in here. Squire! There looks to be a couple of Two-Face's goons still wrecking the place inside and there's two hostages I can see from out here. Don't approach the goons if you can help it, your main priority is to get the hostages out of there!" Batwoman instructed.

"Two Face is MINE!" she said firing a grappling hook toward the roof.
