[OOC] Eastern Clans (The story continues)

Depending on where you decide to start, I figured, the last time my character was mentioned, as I recall it, was at the point everyone had bedded down, but before the pirates attacked. So I was thinking I could work out that shortly before the pirates showed up she went off a little ways to find a spot to use the "lou" and when she returns to the edge of camp she see's the pirates leaving with the group as hostages, so she decides to lay low for a bit. And maybe she tries to go help everyone, but in the process gets sidetracked, has a run-in with an elf from the village everyone winds up in, so thus she winds up there as well, having kind of forgotten her original quest of attempting to help her friends, or even become a bit unaware she had still been traveling with everyone until she finds you guys in the elven village.

Or something like that? I figure since she's so flakey and scatter-brained I have at least a little wiggle room

I think maybe you can have her flee when we are getting captured and get lost in the woods, eventually finding your way back into the village

I think all is there. I don't think I'll go through the process of putting everything on the first page...it would be prettier but with the new website it seems like a pain, I'd rather leave things like this for now. I'd also rather we start the Roleplay. :) Like I said half of first post is written, I'll finish, hopefully, tomorrow.

It will include a summary of what happened last plus my own post from then.

Personality: Somewhat stand-offish when first met, the man is all about professionalism and efficiency. At times this hinders him, as he approaches almost all of his problems with a willingness to sacrifice others. At the end of the day, he extends little empathy to others beyond their usefulness to him and the mission. The world these days doesn't move without gold lining the hands of everyone involved and after his impoverished past, Izaka is more than willing to bloody his hands for a piece of that shiny, shiny action.

Background
The poor son of a miner and a town whore, Izaka's life didn't have the most noble of beginnings. For most of his childhood the bleak prospect of a life in Zeteth's incredibly deadly mines and a premature burial before the age of 30 were the only things that awaited. Instead, the boy became pro-active and spent his youth, at least what time he had not assisting his father, speaking with local traders and armed escorts, learning from mercenaries who were egotistical enough to indulge a couple of querries about their nomadic and dangerous lifestyle.

When it finally came time for Izaka to begin bringing in money, instead of joining the mines he chose a different path, becoming a member of the town guard. While the life expectancy of a guardsman wasn't much higher than that of a miner, the boy, then teen's skills saw him through his first couple of years of service warding off bandits and protecting caravans and as always his skills continued to increase. However, these at least somewhat happy years were not to last and as the teen grew into a man, the death of his father weighted heavily on his shoulders. Freed of the burden of caring for his parent, he opted to leave on the first convoy out of the town, setting his sights on greater prizes.

For the next couple of years Izaka's time was spent roaming the land as a mercenary and, occasionally, an assassin. Although a little rough around the edges, his extremely serious demeanor was usually the deciding factor in him getting the nod for assignments and over time he acquired a reputation for ruthless efficiency. He was the sort of man employers called when they needed a little dirty work done, he was the kind of man they called when they valued their objective over the deaths of twenty or more subordinates. Izaka was never popular in his field of work, but at the very least he was respected by others in his profession.

Upon hearing the call for seasoned adventurers, Izaka answered in kind but was late to the departure of the party and thereby delayed in meeting up with them. However, when he did rendezvous his usefulness was immediately discovered and he became an important, if somewhat aloof member of their little entourage.

Note
I've ret-conned this character a little bit, the most notable aspect is making him a little older. I think the new age matches his back story better, as it makes his previous experience more believable.

Nationality: Cabadra

Personality: Lazy, eccentric, and not particularly physically powerful, Galen is a combination of things that would seem to spell death to any experienced adventurer. However, he is a number of other things as well; politically intelligent and gifted with a silver tongue the man is capable of talking himself out of practically any situation. This somewhat a-linear approach to problem solving, however, fits in great with his laid-back personality as he is more than willing to trick others into doing his share of the work.

Background
The second son of the rich count of Urik, Galen, despite being a noble, was set to inherit none of his father's extensive estate and therefore was left to pursue other means of personal financial viability. In his childhood, Galen had an extensive and thorough education, tutored by masters in just about every subject under the sun. Academia cracked open easily at his nimble prodding and revealed to the boy its many vast secrets, including some rather well-kept knowledge concerning the practice of mystic arts.

Primarily known as a public speaker and orator, upon reaching adulthood Galen sought out a living as a sage of sorts, residing in taverns and other places were low-lifes were want to frequent, plying his trade as an information broker for profit and prestige. In addition to this trade, he worked as a sort of make-shift alchemist on the side, having no formal training, but still selling powerful tinctures of unknown effectiveness. During this time, however, he also developed, in addition to his street smarts, a rather crippling addiction to the past-time of gambling in all its various forms. An avid player of dice and cards Galen lost just as much as he earned in games of chance, being known far and wide for his bad luck in all such endeavors.

Hearing of a party setting out for ancient treasure, the sage seeks to join them with the intention of brokering information, willing to risk his livelihood for the chance at the infinite riches denied him in his birthright.
