Those kinds of moments in comics are the ones I live for, and it felt like too much of an important quality of Clark's for Jon to have not inherited it. I'm glad you liked that part, it was the most fun bit to write out of the entire post.

Also, and this is more selfish, I'm glad I'm not the only one to write a prologue for my character or I'd look pretentious.

I'm glad you like him! That character as I conceived him can go to some dark places, but no one wants to read that puerile mid-90s "super angsty broody edgy antihero" stuff, so I'm trying to give him a little bit of self-awareness and cynical gallows humor. I think it's in character but makes him a little more tolerable.
