Yea, probably the one where I played as Poland. I then had that uprising with the opposition leader, which went sour very fast :P.

Well yea, that's what I mean. Those that are outside both NATO's and Warsaw Pact's influence could be used later on for that purpose. That was kind of the point of the Cold War, an ideological battle to get as many over to your side as you can.

Great, I'm a full advocate for fighting in/over player nations as much if not more than npc ones.

Playing as East Germany, my immediate goal will likely be getting my hands on West Berlin :P.

I know what the deal is for Israel. I intend to try to play it out realistically -- for example, Ariel Sharon will remain a loose cannon.

Because this is alt history for the most part, we can also have fictional leaders. I'd imagine some might remain the same though.

I'd prefer to go with the crop of Israelis existent in that era. They're flamboyant sons of bitches anyway. If I had France, I would have been playing Charles De Gaulle. I picked countries that I have read up on extensively, or even read biographies of for the leaders.
