@Delta44 Die sounds fair. Or like some generator you put down all the racers names and it picks one. Something like that.
Basically we say what our characters would do, and then the Gm would compare the different stats. Let's say the track is a 1000 units. A car with 20 accel and 40 top speed would likely do get to top speed in two turns. Then after the third turn the stats would come up to a 100. 20-40-40. This is how I could possibly imagine the race.
Or we could jsut say you have x number of posts per lap. Sounds fair to me. Also a lot simpler-
As for actions, it would be car stats against car stats. If your car has 40 chassis and theirs has 40 grip then the outocme could be 2d6, the bigger number winning the battle. If the grip was 50 it will not budge, not needing a roll, similar if it was 30, instantly making teh car swirl (stats are jsut for example).
This is pretty simple, and very fair. Also people on the last palce cannoit ram ppl in teh front. So apply basic sense. Doesn't seem that hard.
