I helped fund the RISK RALLY GP, it wasn't even my idea, I just made it bigger, and now every poor bastard with a overpowered engine and a dream is killing themselves for the entertainment of their peers. Its disgusting, but I don't care. They are all disgusting anyway, if it wasn't this itd be some other twisted game show or competetion or 'challenge'.....I need to go now, this would be a suicide note, and I still plan to kill myself. But I've got one last thing to do....

Risk Rally GP Title

Welcome to my latest brain child, this is the RISK RALLY GP, semi-dystopian Racing RP where you take your pride and joy vehicle and tear up the track against other players to win the grand prize and become the RISK RALLY CHAMPION. This is a combat racing RP where your player's life is at stake the minute they get on the track. Hopefully your skills and your custom built car will see you through the amazing tracks we have built. You will interact with characters in between races and the stakes will get higher as the GP goes on. There will also be bonus challenges as a side quest outside of the main GP which takes place over one week.

WORLD BRIEF

The year is 2080, the economy is in tatters. The world has been eaten alive by corruption and the poverty line has dropped to a terrifying level, 82% of the world are living in poverty and society has truly become a reflection of dystopia. BUT the rich still need to be entertained. And there are still those desperate enough to risk it all and earn great wealth as winner of the Risk Rally races, a hyper dangerous but massively televised racing league where gutsy drivers put their lives on the line to win massive cash prizes. The Prelims are taking place in europe, with semi finals in asia, and finally the showdown in the USA. Drivers come from all over the world to win the grand prize of 6 Million neo-credits (which works out to about $20 Million Dollars Today)

Vehicles Explained
Each vehicle performs differently and for this game we have to keep it fair. So for your performance I'm giving you 100 points to spend however you wish on you vehicles stats. You can choose to be balanced or specialized....at your own risk.

The Categories Are

Firepower:(the damage your weapons can do other vehicles.)
Frame:(The durability of your vehicle, also increases ramming damage)
Grip:(The Handling and stability of your vehicle on the road)
Acceleration: (How fast your vehicle gains speed.)
Top Speed:(The maximum speed your vehicle can reach)

So for example if a car with 34 firepower shoots a missile a car with 4 Frame, it will probably be obliterated on the spot. And if a car with 29 frame rams a care with only 9 grip, its probably going to send it spinning out of control.

These are all things to take into account when building your vehicle.

Racing Mechanics & Rules

1. The Risk Rally/DGP is a simple points based series of races. Each individual race will award points to the podium position racers (1st 2nd 3rd) and a few to the rest (4th etc) depending on how many are in the race (up to 10).

1st 12 points
2nd 9 points
3rd 7 points

The actual GP comprises of multiple races and leagues.

I as the GM will be in control of the Non-Player Racers and the Commentators (Rob and Griff). The Commentators will be giving regular updates on who's in what position in the race, and any major occurrences (like a crash) as well as general color commentary. As a player you cannot decide when to overtake your opponent, you can simply drive, and based on your stats and how you describe yourself driving and navigating the course will you improve your position. If you are described as close or near to another opponent, you can take your chances with ramming them or attacking with you melee weapon.

There will be two images for each race track one will be the 'flavour' image which will give you a rough idea of what the track and its surroundings look like. And the other will be a circuit image, which will literally be the outline of the track. I will be adding comments if there are particular hazards, weather conditions or road types worth mentioning. But we will follow the circuit fairly closely and you will take your corners where appropriate on the map, here is an example.

Certain regular racing skills can be used, the first is Drifting, you can attempt a drift on any corner, while drifting you will lose very little speed when turning and be able to cancel a slipstream if an opponent is behind you. However, every drift is a risk, you can ATTEMPT a drift when ever you like, but depending on your grip, the road type, acceleration and general speed and weight (frame) of the vehicle going into the corner I will decide how well your drift actually goes. Now even clunky machines with poor grip can occasionally pull off a perfect drift but the chances are much lower than a light machine with excellent grip. Your drift will have varying levels of success from perfect, to good, to poor, to spin-out. Which may result in a crash.

The other mechanic is the Slipstream. You may increase your speed by driving directly behind an opponent to decrease the wind resistance in front of you. A common tactic is to ride an opponents slipstream all the way next to them and the hitting them in corner side with a vicious PIT maneuver. Slipstreams are a lot harder to catch when turning corners and your slipstream wont be as effective if your catching one off a vehicle that is smaller than your own.

Combat is handled in the same way as all my other RPs its essentially arena rules (no auto-hitting) except the GM can declare a hit if I feel necessary. You can attempt to dodge but in your car every dodge is going to be a swerve which will effect you racing performance, (and you might just get hit anyway). If your car does take a hit, depending on your frame and the enemy firepower or frame. You will lose a percentage of your car's 'health. At the start of a race everyone starts with 100% (which will be monitored by the play-by-play commentary). If this health drops to 10% your car is in critical condition which you then can choose to bail, which will end the current race for you and you will take last place or you can continue to race, Meaning you can still win, but if your craft hits 0% your vehicle will be destroyed and your character may die. Even if they make it out alive somehow, they will miss the next race while their vehicle is reassembled.

Bio: An ex-chop shop mechanic from Boston who decided to find a legitimate career before getting killed by the military cops who now ran New England. His skills allowed him to successfully aquire a government job fixing fire trucks which he loved dearly as his late uncle was a fireman. But his criminal record kept him from ever being promoted to any sort of decent paying position which matched his massive potential. Out of fustration he asked for a transfer and was instead offered a higher paying job as freelance mechanic for the Risk Rally GP, which paid much more and he could work part time. He reluctantly took it when he found out his wife was pregnant, but hates the very idea of the desperate killing themselves on camera for money. He tried to do his job as ethically as he can. He still has his code of honor.

Bio: Young genius from a family of 4 older brothers and single father, Brigitte grew up in a rough home and rough neighborhood where being sweet and innocent would get you hurt or worse. Being thrown into the streets by her father and hustling to make money by fixing various things, an agent from the Risk Ralley GP came upon Brigitte from word of mouth to check out her skills as a mechanic which, with some lying and persuasion, hired Brigitte with the promise that not only will she get paid a lot and live better but also being promised to help her make her own robotics company, which is Brigitte's dream of being a robot creator. Unfortunately, this was another lie as the agent who hired her was assigned to keep her busy will repairing the rides of the participants and to have control of her money.

Description:
This urban track was built by the corrupt mayor of this city in an attempt to gain more revenue for the bankrupt economy. The Track has damp roads and although the streets are technically clear of traffic there are many burnt out cars and junk that litters parts of the roads which can make navigating them very difficult, also some of the track makes use of narrow alleyways which makes overtaking difficult to impossible. Beyond that, the track is fairly normal and has no notable hazards.

Description:
This track is built around an old bio facility that has been abandoned and is breaking down as it submerges in a swamp out in the New Orleans badlands. The 'road' is the shallowest part of the swamp where the water is only 1 foot deep, but this still has a massive effect on the driving here. The corners are fairly easy but the track is at night, and it is cloaked in a thin murky fog that can obscure vision at long ranges. Swerve too far of course and you may find your vehicle sinking in the gator habitat. Irene Yukimoto frequents this place for chemicals she uses at her clinic.

Description:
A nice simple track that's beautiful sunny scenery make it the top spot for advertisers to make their revenue from the billions of watchers around the world. The roads are high quality tarmac and the track is very simple to navigate. Malachy Connors has driven a few customers around this route in his cab, as its a hot attraction for tourists who travel to California to see the races.

The custom weapons will be added at a slightly later . For some races you will be assigned certain weapons for certain races others, you get to use your own. But in every race you can lean out of your window and use your personal melee weapon.

Soon after, the 100th anniversary Bandit Edition Trans Am was released, which Alexandria also purchased. She practiced driving this machine carefully, having learned quickly the problems large amounts of power cause to vehicles. As she learned how to handle her new toy, Alexandria began to modify the car, intent on entering races. A few years and over a hundred races later, Alexandria is as skilled behind the wheel as the most professional driver, and is looking to test her prowess in the Risk Rally Grand Prix.

Painted an irridescent red and altered slightly from its previous incarnation in 2016, the 2077 Trans Am celebrates the 100th anniversary of the original Bandit. It has been lengthened to accommodate a longer wheelbase for an increase in control.

It has been heavily modified from stock. The suspension has been lifted to provide ground clearance and stiffened to handle any impact the road could dish out. It has been fitted with dual rear wheel drag radial tires to partially mitigate traction issues. A fifth wheel has been integrated into the nose of the car, fully steerable and powered by the engine just as the rear wheels.

Under the hood the classic V8 has been replaced with a custom 12 liter V12 engine. This engine is fed air through the ram air hood, and is supplemented with the power of a supercharger providing 15 pounds of constant air pressure, and twin turbochargers adding another 40 pounds each. These turbos are mounted in the trunk with their intercoolers. This additional rear weight also helps account for the issues with traction caused by this engine, which produces over 3000 horsepower and pounds of torque.

#52 'The Cabbie'

Appearance: Somewhat scruffy looking, Malachy has curly brown hair reaching his shoulders, unkempt with a mullet, underneath a peaked cap. Slightly flat end nose from a time he got punched in the face, slight stubble. He wears a mottled leather jacket with some harder plastic shoulder pads and elbow pads over a grimy red shirt, a pair of black leather fingerless gloves and a single silver ring on his left pointer finger. He wears a heavy duty belt with a change dispenser and multiple pouch pockets over brown slacks and leather boots with metal toecaps.

Bio: Malachy was born to Pierre and Francine Connors in Paris, a pair of gypsies etching out the meekest of livings in the “cour de miracles.” They sold small bits of tech they stole and scavenged from scrapyards and shop trash cans, the only thing that could give them the smallest profit in their life of poverty. Malachy was brought into the ‘family business’ and quickly picked up on repairs. He noticed patterns in-between devices and actually started to work on them when he had a hand free from his parent’s usual work. Eventually, his parents were run down during a police raid on a cyber terrorist gang hiding underneath Notre Dame, leaving Malachy alone.

In a stroke of luck, he managed to get some work in a home devices manufacturing company, a worker in Zillion Corp’s factories as a simple drone at the conveyor belt. It was underpaid and dangerous, but it gave him enough to continue carving out a meagre existence. He was eventually promoted after showing his skills and became a delivery driver, despite not being licenced to drive and having only brief training from a senior member of staff. He continued with this job and improved his driving skills, often becoming reckless when he drove, to the point where he crashed a shipment and fled the country when Zillion Corp sent out hired goons to kill him for his mistake.

He fled to the USA and hid out there, taking a job as a taxi driver for a little while until he was in his 20’s, got sick of his employers and broke one of their knees before quitting in his entirety. He took out a heavy lone from the bank with an idea in his head to set up his own single manned taxi service and work for himself. Thus, the “Pidgeonhole Taxi Service” was born. Malachy made a name for himself as the ‘winged chariot’ by escorting paying customers through even the most dangerous of terrain, no matter what their story. However, the debt collectors for his loan continued to hound him even as he enjoyed his success. Thus, he turned to a last resort option, the Risk Rally, with his streetwise taxi driving skills and a souped up cab, intent to take it all the way and pay off his debts, and maybe have a little extra for a nice place on the west end of town.

Name: “Carrier Pidgeon.” #52
Appearance:

The Carrier Pidgeon was an old model taxi that Malachy bought from a scrapyard once he’d obtained his loan money. He tuned the machine up himself and painted the “Pidgeonhole” logo on the side, giving it the nickname Carrier Pidgeon in reference to this. Once accepted into Risk Rally, Malachy went about altering it, giving it weapon functionality and adding stronger armour plating. He also installed some jump jets underneath it as a secret weapon.

Bio: Jimmy was a small time hustler who was always trying to find a way to make an easy buck. Gambling host, drug seller, pimp, whatever he could sell, he did it. Jimmy loved the 80s scene especially when Rap started to come out. He kept up with the style and attitude from that era up to this point in time which his brother followed suit. Jimmy lived Brooklyn New York with his brother, TJ Brown, who happened to be a former racer for the Risk Rally GP before he was killed. TJ had plans on helping his brother make money so to make it out of the inner city ghetto and live like real somebodies and live better than their poverty stricken family. TJ survived the prelims but he was killed close to the finals by someone who Jimmy heard would be in the next race. Jimmy decided to race on behalf of his brother to not only win the money to get out of poverty and make his own business but to also get revenge for his brother who tried to make their lived better.

The Mask past is something of a myth amongst racers. There are many theories, but his silence doesn't help with breaking the mystery. All they know is that he has been racing for long, far longer than most of the younglings that come here to test their luck. This long career is what earned him the respect he has in the driving community. This and his infamous mask he never takes off.

Robert was born in Hungary in 2034, back when the world wasn't so fucked up. But it wasn't a joy living nevertheless. Dues to bonds with "night work" agents and "under the radar" drivers, his parents never really lived the normal life, and neither did him. Robert was raised as a street kid with a house to get back to, and his education was his parents teaching him. This on the long run proved more efficent than the propaganda and useless shit they taught kids in school.

Robert picked up on the family business soon enough, and found himself helping his father with cars from a very young age. Instead of playing football or reading books, his days went by learning krav-maga from his mother, and repairing cars with his dad. As soon as age 14 he was already familiar with cars, and often ran trips to get things for the family. He started driving at the age of 16, and made a name for himself in the next 5 years. He was well respected in the area for his driving talent, and his own gang, the Gas Guzzlers, was dealing with most of the "shady" cargo deliveries. Drug runs, races, gang fights forged him into a though man, and a rising star.

But all stars must fade. On the fateful night of December 1st, 2055, Robert Williams, the infamous gang lord suffered an incident whilst driving his car around lake Balaton. His body was never found. That's what the news said anyways. In truth, his sins caught up to him. The police forces rigged his ride, and blew it sky high. He somehow survived the crash with grave injuries, and he was arrested on spot and then hospitalized for weeks. His face suffered injuries that technology couldn't replace at the time, and it had to be replaced with a mechanical mask. He was forced to make a testament against his own gang, but things didn't stop there.

It was evident that his testimony was faulty and he would give out bad info. And so the police sent him on the field to pull apart his own gang as an anonymus new racer. If he was to refuse, they would make sure he didn't see the other day, neither would his family. So Robert joint the night community as "The Mask", and began working on taking the business apart, newly gaining the trust of his fellow gang members. In just a mere 7 months, the Gaz Guzzlers fell apart, but the bigshots managed to escape, their identity unknown. Robert was given free pass, but due to evidence pointing at him for letting the leaders get away, one of the more "determined" officers made sure Roberts could never warn anyone ever again.

With endless time and regret, Robert travelled around the world to seek tranquility. His life was ruined, but his passion never ended, and on his travles around the globe he used every oppurtonuity to make a name for himself. Beating up gangs, and winning races around the globe, many years passed without anything important happening to him. He watched as the world changed around him, and lived by the road and where it took him. Almost 20 years passed by unevetfully.

Then the Risk Rally happened, and Robert saw an oppurtinity in it. He hoped that he could possibly meet people from his old gang, and make things right. That the race could justify his actions against his gang, and make the deadly race his redemption for his sins. He loaded up his car with fuel, and drove back to where he came from, the palce that held so many bad memories, Europe.

Flavor Text: "Eclpise" was a parting gift by Robert's best friend. When the band was arrested, the two escaped with this car. Robert decided to keep it as a memory, and a signal for other members. The current car is a lot different from what the car used to be like, many armor plates were added, and a rotating autocannon was mounted on it. The car is accelerates really slow, but the powerful motor inside is incredibly hard to slow down once this machine picks up speed. The car is resistant against weapons, and has an excellent grip to counter speed loss. It is more than perfect for a race of this caliber, and for a driver of this caliber.
