Well.
Joe can take brief control of any guy whom he can talk into feeling strong emotions.
I can telefrag potentially any guy.
Sawbones can understand EXACTLY where to punch any guy in order to oneshot him.
Your superstrong superfast werewolf can literally LIFT any guy that weighs less than 10 tons and then crush him or throw him so far into the air he will die from hitting the ground.
Nergal quickly disintegrates any guy whose head he can touch for some time - and helping Nergal to do so is probably our team's major tactic for dealing with especially durable enemies.

Don't worry, trump cards are something many capes have - and all of them can be countered in some way. Enemies that aren't destroyed by them make for extremely interesting and complex encounters - and enemies that get oneshot by attacks of powerful and dangerous supervillains make it all look grittier and more realistic!

Define 'strong emotions'.

Because "I need to live" is a pretty strong emotion, and most people feel it during any encounter with a supervillain, I'm guessing.

Harpy

Name: Tereska Kowalczyk
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Appearance:

Tereska stands at a short 5 foot 5 and has a thin physique. Her hair is long and naturally black and her eyes are an icy blue. Her style of clothing consists of band t-shirts and rather boyish clothes.

Her transformed self is obviously very different. She grows to 5 foot 9, and her skin grows pale white, covered by feathers everywhere but her face and neck. A large red mark grows on her lips and nose, and her eyes change to the same colour. Her hair also changes to a bright white, with the ends dying to a blood red. Of course, she also grows more bird like, with large wings growing on the back of her arms.
Personality: Hopeful, easily-angered, vindictive, merciful, adaptable
Powers/skills:
Tereska's most obvious power is her ability to change into a harpy. Her strength is increased in this form, and sharp talons grow on her hands and feet. She is also, of course, able to fly. She is also able to transform any percent of her into the harpy. For example, she could transform solely her arms or her hands into the harpy form, enabling her to use her wings or hands without fully transforming. Although this, of course, does not grant her the extra strength or speed boost she gains from the full form.
Equipment: Tereska doesn't carry anything on her when doing villainous deeds. She loses her clothes and equipment when transformed so bringing anything seems just dumb.
Short Bio: Tereska was born to a farming family just outside of Częstochowa, Poland. Her life was relatively normal up until the age of 13, which was when she developed her powers. They appeared while she was at school, and, of course, the horror of her transformation scared and alienated her classmates and even her teacher. After she returned she was made a mockery of, being teased day in and day out. This was, of course, what changed her from your average girl into a villain. She began picking off her classmates one by one. Eventually she was the only person left in the class and it didn't take a huge amount of investigation to determine that all of the corpses washing up with signs of large bird attacks were from her.

She was to be sent to jail, she escaped of course and flew for new pastures. For America. There she made a name for herself as a villain, before being contacted by some strange electrical force and being assembled to a team.

His power is not direct no-save mind control per se, man. He has to actively work with a target for quite some time to establish the dominance, and even then he can only hold it until they fulfil a single command.

I was never intending the mind control ability itself as a weapon, as much as using it against innocent bystanders as a sort of miniature army.

@Eyeruption I was thinking along the lines of, for example, Joe would make himself look like someone's long lost relative, and they would get a surge of emotion seeing someone they thought had died.

Okay, here's how I was planning on using Joe's ability. Say he wanted to rob a bank or something. He'd go out onto a busy street, make himself look like a rough-n-tough tattooed dude, sucker punch a hot-headed muscled buck, they'd get mad, then they'd be under his control. He'd give the big burly guy the simple command of bursting through the door and knocking over as many pieces of furniture they could, while Joe walked past the distraction, into the back, grab a buck or two for a donut, then walks back out. Once the guy finished his task, he'd be back to normal, but also probably be in handcuffs after several bystanders called the police, and being hauled to jail.

Joe wouldn't have a group that he had full control over that he'd use over and over as his personal task force, he'd just grab someone off the streets to do one task, then they'd be back to normal. He's not exactly the strategic, look-ahead type person.

Oh no, what a terrible thing for old Joe. It's not like he's a shape-shifting demon who can literally just disappear off the face of the earth, living as someone else until he goes back to stealing.

the presence may be able to find him, but for how long are the police going to follow it's leads? surely they would get sick of getting anonymous tips that Joe has shape-shifted in an old grandma now.

Oh well, to be realistic, Presence probably has some VERY SERIOUS incentive to make us work for it, not just some threats of uncovering us to the police, since police already knows us as fucked up villains and our MO and generally hunts for us non-stop.

I think it has means of controlling us that transcend our ken. I mean, if it was only a supreme hacker and nothing more we could hide from it just by turning off all electric tools. Not an option for your char, but a great one for everyone else.

You have to keep in mind that Joe is a demon, and demons have weaknesses just as much as humans do. They're just different weaknesses.

I would like you to be honest with me. Are you just pointing out things that you think are a bit eh about my character, and think that once fixed would make a great character that would be fun to play with, or do just dislike the character from a story perspective? I'm a roleplayer with a passion for a good story, I can take an honest, "You're character's a bit boring, mind trying something different maybe?"

Nah, the character's fine, I'm just trying to get a full grasp of it. so, the former of the two.

If the mysterious Presence is capable of exploiting Joe's weaknesses, I'd then imagine that it must be much more powerful than just capable of electronic manipulation. probably gonna have some crazy supernatural powers along with it
