If you left him as is, he'd have to be a separate type of being, who was mistaken for a vampire in terms of how they'd be considered mythologically. ^^;

That would work too :P

What are your views on necromancy and other similar forms of magic, and on ghosts, for that matter?

They're not currently updated in the thread, but... necromancy is totally a thing, at least. Pretty typically does not result in sapient undead, but it does exist.

Ghosts also exist, and can even take a solid state. The mechanics of ghosts are a little complicated due to how the soul works in-setting but it's not anything to be concerned about at the moment.

Aaand edited for differentiation. We now have a hopping zombie leech rather than a true vampire. Perhaps I should've asked for clarification on undead before writing it in the first place ^^'

Writing mine up right now, noticed we have somebody with a short range teleport. Do you care if I make a character with a more long range teleport, that can also teleport other people, or do you want more variety?

@VitaVitaAR I was wondering if I should join this or not, but with certain other RPs ending because of the new semester of school/college killing them, I'll have the time. So, here's a CS:

If there's any issue let me know, but I think she goes very well with most of your lore.

It's like one in the morning here, so forgive me if it's crap. Give me some criticism if there's anything you see that's horrible or needs fixing.

  • Name: Aoyama Makiko
  • Age: 16
  • Gender: Female
  • Race: Human
  • Appearance: "There's no way you'll get away with this."(She wears a red scarf, as well).
  • Personality: A girl who takes herself seriously. Makiko founded the Miura Youth Organization because she truly believes that it's something that the children of the Imaginary District, human or otherwise, can do to help keep this peaceful. She is dedicated and serious about this purpose, but is not constantly stonefaced. She can, at times, loosen up. She's not unfriendly, but when she's trying to deal with something she can come off that way. For all her seriousness and attempts to keep herself focused, Makiko has a remarkably sharp temper that can come out in a fight. Hurting someone she cares about can make her fly into a murderous rage, even though she tries to restrain herself from killing unless it's absolutely necessary. Hurting innocent people will also deeply anger her. In the end, Makiko is simply very protective of the Imaginary District.
  • Abilities: Makiko is, technically, an onmyouji. However, her family does not focus on spellwork, instead incorporating the use of spells into swordplay. Makiko's affinity is for fire, and therefore she applies fire in a fight. Utilizing ofuda(including several built into her katana) she can produce different fiery effects, one an enormous serpentine coil cast up through an object, such as a sword, known as the Fire Dragon. Indeed, many of Makiko's spells take on a rather draconic theme. She has ofuda that buff her physically pinned on the inside of her clothing, including her school uniform. This allows her to run faster, use more strength, and take more dangerous hits.
  • Skills: Makiko is remarkably skilled in swordplay for someone of her age, due to her family's focus on the subject. She is a toxically bad cook, however. She's mildly athletic, but more agile then strong without the aid of her ofuda.
  • Equipment: Makiko wields Enryu, a sword of her family with ofuda used in its construction, placed inside the hilt. This hilt "bleeds" mana when active, typically colored red. The blade trails flames and can project fire and even expand itself with fire. At its highest output level, Enryu trails butterflies made of fire. This is a state she has not yet accessed. Makiko carries paper slips on her to make ofuda, and pins several inside her clothing to buff herself.
  • Brief Backstory: Makiko was born into an onmyouji family that has been dwelling in the Imaginary District ever since its inception. As a child, she was swiftly trained in both onmyodo and in swordplay, to hone her abilities as a child of the Aoyama family. Through it all, while her training was harsh, her family treated her warmly. At only eight years old, however, she watched her father die at the hands of a long-possessed man, inhabited by a formless youkai without thought or intent, simply with mindless violence and endless power. The possessed man was destroyed in the process, and in the years after recovering from the death of her father, Makiko chose to take a stance. She did not wish for the Imaginary District to suffer something like that again. She didn't want anyone else to lose their parents. Working with the police department, given that she was a member of a well-respected onmyouji family, she devised the Miura Youth Organization only a year ago, a place for those her age to meet one another, socialize, and help keep the Imaginary District safe.

@Natsu: Affinity and magic trait are two different things. ^^;

@KoL: She does fit well with the setting lore, but I'm a little worried about the boundary stuff.

Also, me and @VitaVitaAR seem to have decided that Yuina is Makiko's "normal" friend. XD

Affinity dictates what you're best at. Magic Trait is a special ability related to your bloodline.

"Creation" as listed sounds more like a Magic Trait then an affinity.

Ok, could I make a mage with a magic trait like that, but no affinity? I'm just scared of getting him to learn stuff in the roleplay, because I don't know how well it'll be able to be implemented. Or do you think discovery of his magical abilities will be easy to work in?

Anyone with magic would have an affinity, it's not possible not to have one. So if he has a Magic Trait, he has an affinity.

I think it wouldn't be hard to work learning stuff in though.

Oh, so he would have a magical trait, and an affinity? So really, I just have to come up with some type of magic for him to excel at?
