A useful thing to know, Rena's aunt insist she learn enough to keep herself safe should anything unsavory find her.Known spells are heal and Lesser WardBackground and a "brief" history: Rena was born to two Imperial parents and remained an only child. Her father served under Skyrim's Factor for the East Empire Trading Company. Rena was born in Skyrim, and raised there until she was old enough to begin learning her father's business. It was a happy enough childhood, or so Rena has been told, for she has few memories of her parents or their home in the Nordic lands. At a young age, with the unrest and eventual Civil War, Rena's father decided it was safer for his daughter to live with his sister in the Imperial City. Rena's mother was more than unhappy over this, begging her husband to move all them somewhere safer. Her father refused though, insisting that he could not leave behind his occupation. Nor would he allow his wife to remain in the Imperial City, unwilling to lose both members of his family. Rena's mother escorted her to the Imperial City and against her wishes, returned to Solitude to be with her husband.
Her aunt was a well-off woman in her own rights. She owned and operated a high end jewelry shop that also offered some minor enchantments. Rena was expected to learn the business well and their relationship proved to be one of teacher and student rather than familial. Rena acted out against this from a young age, although it only brought greater restrictions and punishments. The young girl paid little attention to her studies and ran away frequently enough to go play with the other children in her neighborhood. When her aunt was able to keep her inside, Rena actually began to show a talent for enchanting, under the tutelage of the mage her aunt employed from time to time. She also quite enjoyed making jewelry, and had a good eye for making tasteful pieces, although her technique was never the best. As she got older her aunt began to allow her to work on ornamental weaponry which required a crash course in blacksmithing; something Rena absolutely hated.
When the auras blazed across the skies, Rena's attitude and beliefs shifted. She couldn't help but think that she had been such a silly girl. She strove in her studies, seeking to become an expert enchanter so that she could help the Emperor and keep him safe with her work. The effects on the girl during this time may not have been extreme, other than making her a quite productive citizen, but the harm was done, if only psychologically. Her father had sent her away to keep her safe, a plan that ultimately failed. Her aunt had not been able to keep her safe, instead, the business had nearly been destroyed thanks to the Emperor's spell. She was able to recover, but the relationship between niece and aunt was strained more than ever. Following those events, Rena acted out in ever increasing new and inventive ways. Annoying her aunt in an attempt to be relieved of her duties and training became her goal. She also became obsessed with those that had saved Tamriel. She created stories, fantasies about meeting them or how they had saved her personally.
When, a year later, Rena found that not only were the Heroes in the city for a celebration but that one of them was in her aunt's store...Rena thought she had died and gone to heaven. She drank far more than she should had and ended up making a fool of herself in front of quite an audience. It wasn't long after that, though, that Rena began running. The attack was swift, sudden. That she had been so close to the Heroes may have indeed saved both her and her aunt's life. They ran and didn't look back, though Rena couldn't help but feel elated that at least some elements of her fantasies had come true.
It was not to last for long, though. Outside of the city, after her aunt killed for the first time, she was forced to leave the group behind. Her aunt wanted no part in heroics, not having the will or ability to deal with the stresses. They joined a wave of refugees fleeing but not knowing where to go. The duo ended up in Hammerfell, Rena had never paid very much attention to geography to know exactly where they were. But she had made a decision during their escape over water. Her aunt had been wrong. Her aunt may not have been able to handle it, but she did. She needed to find the Heroes again. She needed to help them, and she was certain, if she was with them, she could not die.
Fighting Style: Rena makes herself useful as bait. She'd rather not fight at all, what with how dirty one can get or bloody or dead. She's come to be proficient enough with a small blade, but in self defense or hunting. She is good at running away from things though,
Personality: Easily and overly excitable. Rena is a whirl of energy and a flurry of emotion. She has nurtured a fan obsession for the Heroes and would do anything to be in their presence. This overabundance of energy can be focused, for Rena thoroughly enjoys her work enchanting, and is probably the most quiet she will ever be willingly.
What all of that hides though, is that Rena is a scared girl. Her father sent her away for safety, her aunt always seemed annoyed at having to raise her brother's child, and she rarely felt like she had a home. The events of a few years ago, of having free will of thought or actions taken, left their psychological mark as well. The Heroes served to create a sense of normalcy and rightness in the world, leading to her obsession with them. The most recent crisis is a crucible for the young woman, a time when she can either come into her full strength, or be left utterly broken even if she should survive.
